This spa was conveniently located across the street from where I was staying, so I decided to give it a try. It's a smaller spa, and the treatment rooms aren't very large. The therapists don't always introduce themselves unless you ask, which wasn't a problem for me. I knew I was coming in for an affordable massage, and that's what mattered most. The facility was clean, and my therapist was professional and attentive. She asked what type of pressure I preferred, checked during the massage to make sure the pressure was comfortable, and asked if there were any areas I wanted her to focus on. I appreciate that level of communication. I like firm pressure without it being deep tissue, and she delivered exactly what I was looking for. The massage was excellent, especially for the price. I was very happy with the service and already knew I wanted to leave a generous tip because I felt the therapist earned it. I asked for her name afterward, and I believe she said it was June. If you're in the area and looking for a good massage at a reasonable price, I would definitely recommend this place. One thing to note is that it's not completely quiet, you can occasionally hear traffic and sirens outside. However, they do play relaxing spa music, and the noise wasn't distracting enough to affect my experience. What a stroke of luck to discover CoCo Day Spa in Coronado, located across from the Hotel Del and next door to the El Cordova Hotel. Our three family members enjoyed an hour-long deep-tissue massage that also included hot stones. The price was $85. If we hadn't been in a rush to get to the airport, we would have asked for 2 hours each. It was clean, quiet, and the staff was very professional. Booked a couples massage in advance. This is located directly next door to El Cordova and across the street from Hotel Del. Walked in a few minutes early and was greeted in a warm friendly manner. CoCo asked if we wanted the same room or separate. We kept the same room. Walked in with quiet, light music playing with a well lit ambiance. I had CoCo and my significant other had Anne (sorry if I didn't catch the name correctly!) but it is 3 days later and we are still talking about the massages. My significant other hasn't been able to crack his next or back in years and they were able to loose it up and get it to crack! The hands are magic and fit to both our likings. Objectively it was the best massage I've ever had. My critique has everything to do with customer service. I was never introduced to my massage therapist. I was shown into a room & told to undress. I was never given her name & she never asked for mine. She never asked me if I had any injuries, concerns or preferences. She never asked me anything at all expect if I want medium or hard pressure. She did check in with me twice to ask if I was ok. I booked my appointment online & there may have been documents on there that I agreed to but I wasn't asked to read any safety information, sign any agreements, nor given any after care recommendations. Once I asked for a pillow under my knees but it seems like there may have been a language barrier. It was a couples massage & the therapist talked amongst themselves, people opened the door & spoke to them. From under the towel when I was in my back, I could see that the door had been left particularly open. I do not know how long it was like that or if people such as customers I could hear in the hallway, could see in. So over all the technical massage was really excellent. It was really awesome but the customer service was lacking & the open door was a serious violation of my privacy & my trust. Would I go back? Probably not. My mom and I opted for 60 minutes of Swedish massage and 30 minutes reflexology. Both therapists were EXCELLENT! We were both so pleased. The price is reasonable and the women were so kind and conscientious. We will come again when we visit next time. read more
