Compared to the other places I've had it (Chicago and Orlando) this was great! The guy I had put on some strength (sometimes he is a little weak). For me it was very soothing. I workout, so it was a good massage. Went with a group of friends, 4 us and they were able to take us all at the same time Environment Not to pleasant looking. It is in a basement. I had to take the stairs down... I only did a foot massage and this was right at what looks like the lobby area. There were about 8 chairs I would say. Niceness of the staff Now this is where things get all crazy for me. I feel you get different treatment if you don't speak Chinese. I am Chinese myself but I didn't speak Chinese so I don't think he was as friendly to me, I will blame language barrier.... ALSO the guy that took my payment said it in the nicest way possible but I can't help but to be offended. I have been coming to Coco Spa for years and never took the time to write a review. Let's be honest, most people only write to rant about a bad experience but don't often take the effort if they receive the service they expected. Now on to the review. The place is in the heart of downtown Flushing, so if you drive, give yourself at least 30 mins to park and get to your appointment. The staff is all pretty skillful so you can go with any of the masseuse and you will have a nice massage. The masseuses are attentive, albeit their limited English proficiency, you can tell them where you have pain and they will work on the area. They have female and male masseuses so if you have a preference, let them know when you book appointment. When you get the back massage, they finish off the massage with hot stones which is quite relaxing. Overall it is a great value and a nice place to treat yourself to an hour of relaxation. read more

He never lets me down. 1 hr session is not enough in my opinion, 1.5 hr would do the trick if you have body ache and intense neck and shoulder. usualy I would tip $10 per hr and $20 for 1.5 or 2hrs. Visiting from Boston with friends. We've been walking all day and 4 of us was a walk in, we waited for about 15 mins for an hour foot rub. and was seated once the stations are set up. The tech, will have you soak your feet in a bucket lined with plastic and hot water to release the tight muscles in your feet. And then the Magic happens. My tech was kind enough to to put a blanket over my lap as I have short shorts on. They are quite nice and clean. Don't worry about those front stairs. So came in as i walking by: went in and all the staff is sitting in the massage chairs (there's about 10 reflexology chairs in the front) sleeping and picking their teeth and nose... The staff won't even move from the seating for customers because they want to relax. The lady at the front desk kept saying oh sit next to whoever... um, sit next to the employees sitting in all the chairs that's supposed to be for customers? Shall i sit on their lap? Then i noticed all the "OMG great deal for a good massage" reviews... so everyone giving good reviews, i know you're not Chinese so you don't have much real experience to base this on, but no this is not "good place and so cheap" as in Flushing there are thousands of massage places all priced the SAME ($20-30/hr foot massage) and one of the key requirements for a good massage is THEY HAVE TO BE ABLE TO GIVE YOU A SPOT IF THEY WANT TO RUN A BUSINESS. Can't beat the $20/hr foot massage. Please Tip! Don't be that person! These guys work hard and long hours. If you need them to massage harder or softer, say something during the massage. Coco has become very unsanitary. Ive developed a rash on my legs a few times after getting a foot massage. I recently brought my dad, and the same thing happened to him. My friend went for a body massage about 6 months ago and her lip swelled up. I really believe their linens and towels are dirty. Place is clean but the only problem I have with this place is that some customers are very rude and have no manners. They are always loud, don't know how to whisper and it's really annoying when one comes here to just relax and can't because there is an idi&$ next to you speaking so loud with their friend. I find myself lucky that I discovered this place and I tell all my friends about it! The prices are cheap for the quality you receive. I always get the 60 min body massage which really focus on every inch on your body! The hot stones are also a great touch. The $10 minimum tip totals the 60 min to $40 which is a bargain. I always tip about 20-30 dollars depending on how I'm feeling that day. The place is clean and the staff is always friendly and treat me well! Stay away from other shady lookalikes in the area! The only issue was the alarms going off for different clients every 10-15 min but I guess you're not meant to fall asleep! I had a great massage here a few weeks ago. Don't be fooled by the exterior! It basically looks like you're being lured into a spot where you're going to be sold to the highest bidder, but the interior is very nice! I asked for a 1/2 hour body and arm massage to the English speaking owner and was led to a room with two massage beds with a curtain in between and also a curtain for the door. I unfortunately did not read anything on yelp before I came here, so I was a little confused as to the process. Basically, you take off everything except for underwear, and lay face down on the table. There is a thing paper on the massage bed. Lay on top of it! Do not take it off. I had two Asian ladies get very agitated with me in my semi naked state. It was a little startling and very uncomfortable and the language barrier did not help. But once the massage started, everything was great. They really went at all my knots with gusto and while it was a little uncomfortable, I didn't want to tell them to lay off because it felt so blissful after. The hot stones were a pleasant surprise, and very well done. Just when I thought they were going to burn, they kept moving. I gave a 5 dollar tip for a $25 dollar massage, which I guess is the standard rate. If you try to give less, they aren't happy and kind of coerce you into giving a higher tip. My friends tried to tip $5 dollars for a $35 dollar massage, which is still about 15%, but they were cajoled into giving $10. It was not a big deal because its still cheap, but I don't like how there was nothing written anywhere about a mandatory tip amount. read more

I had a 60 mins body massage and chose a male masseur. My massage turned out to be a painful experience and I felt like someone was trying to beat me. The masseur applied so much pressure with his pointed bones, elbows and knuckles that after the massage I actually felt more soreness. I have tried other spas earlier and the good spas usually rub your muscles vigorously instead of using pointed object to apply pressure and remove knots. The masseur only massaged my back for most of the 60mins. It was only in last 5-10 minutes, he massaged my shoulders and legs. He didn't even use any stones during the massage as advertised by this spa. Truly a waste of money. They also ask you to pay $10 tip for a $30 harrowing experience. read more

This was a very nice massage at a great price. $30 for an hour combination foot and back massage? Great! My masseuse was great and very thorough. So why only 3 stars? Three things: 1. They cajoled us into giving a higher tip amount when we were already tipping 20%. I think that's just tacky. I say they should either make the tipping included if they want more money or just raise the price. 2. While we were sitting getting foot massages the staff were complaining about my big feet. Which would have been unnoticed except my friend speaks Chinese and was already speaking Chinese to them before the massage started so they knew that he would understand them. Again, unprofessional (though my feet are big, I will admit!). 3. Although my massage was great my friend was in a ton of pain during his and when he asked his masseuse to ease up he was told that he just needed to relax and then didn't adjust his pressure. Well the reason why I went here was because it had a 4 star rating and I read a couple of reviews before heading there. I had a backwork for 30 dollars and to be honest it wasn't the best I had, the lady went really hard on me for no reason. (I usually like hard massages) but this one was just insane. Oh and to add on to that it was only upper body no feet or legs. I go to the cashier and tell him I want a foot rub and he was like ok 15 more dollars. The same lady that gave me the massage starts out with my foot rub, after 5 mins they switched the lady. (meaning I had to pay both of them for tip) they're really slick. So I payed a total of $45+$10 of tip. That's what I usually pay at other places but I didn't feel my money's worth. I didn't like the environment at all. Really loud everyone talking, the foot rub is next to everybody else's. It's just not the type of place that I would go to again.
