I will say, the grounds are absolutely delightful, especially if you go in the Springtime as we did where flowers are all in full bloom, that alone is worth the ticket price. The architecture is exquisite! A feast for the eyes in so many ways. When we came to visit, they were doing renovations. You could see the water damage on the roof and walls, probably caused by one of the many Summer storms, because of that the tickets were at a discount that day but we were still able to appreciate the beauty of Viscaya. There are two cafe's. One in the garden of the main house, and another across the street where farm animals use to be kept. Surprisingly, the food and drinks are reasonably priced. The day we were there, a wedding was going to take place and there was a lot of commotion going on. Fancy tables being set up, fine china, crystal glasses, the whole works. We asked a security guard how much it costs to have a wedding reception there and he said: "Just to rent the space, no tables, no nothing, starting price is 100k". So if you have 100k lying around, and plan to get married soon, this could be an option for you. Jokes aside though; I'd definitely visit again.

The property and history is pretty amazing. As many other reviews have mentioned, a good portion of the rooms and structures are closed for renovations. They have reduced the entry to $20 from $25 but it still was a little disappointing that the casino building and several rooms in the house were closed. Being that it was the offseason, some of the gardens did seem to be past their peak. We hope to return when everything is open in season and tour the whole facility.

They were not granted access to the theatre because the movie was rated R so they needed an adult to accompany them. I understand this is their policy so I bought a ticket and walked them to their seats after purchasing snacks. Shortly after, since it was never my plan to stay, I left to pick up another one of my children from practice. I was called on my way to be informed that the group was removed from their seats because they saw me leave. These aren't rowdy teenagers and it was clear I gave them consent to watch this movie. While I understand the spirit of the policy, these aren't small children- they are young men hoping to watch a movie during a summer night with friends supporting theaters, instead of streaming something at home. It seemed the young manager was keen on enforcing the rule to the point of reimbursing my money for the tickets. All of this seemed so unnecessary for an 8:30pm movie on a Thursday night. Sadly, the theatre wasn't even packed for a new release. Probably should have been our first clue. On the bright side, the boys took an Uber to CocoWalk and were welcomed to the theatre without issue. It was just an unfortunate experience that didn't need to be.

Art of all kinds, magazines, military history, daily pieces of life, collectibles, and so much more. Walking through the isle ways of this very unique shop is amazing, and the owner knows everything about each piece he has in the store - for the history buffs out there. If you haven't been, you must take part of a day to visit.

Rows of vintage leather firemen hats. A couple of marble-clad casino wheels emerged from Havana's hay day hotel glitz. Intricately carved small wooden boxes casually resting atop a rustic cigar-making machine. Copper pots, copper pans, brass fumigation tanks, a Vernesque diving helmet, bottles, more bottles, pictures, gilded frames, counterfuls of pins, buttons etc, a flawless early 1900s typewriter - that Mr Lalotto fell in love with, but alas, gone when he went back. Reappeared in all its glory at Christmas, ah yes! You need at least a few days to truly appreciate the marvels displayed here, there are so many items and the brain just simply cannot process so much in a short time. The owners are as diverse and interesting as the eclectic collections they've gathered over the years. Note that they open late on weekdays (1:30pm), though Saturday hours are 10am-7pm. Odd thing is, we stopped at a garage sale one Saturday afternoon, spotting a one-of-a-kind chair that turned out to be four-of-a-kind, all equally beautiful. The rest were stashed away upstairs at the Museo Cubano. And that was the start of a new adventure into all things vintage Cuban and the countless stories they hold.

There were two guys painting outside so we asked if we could leave our car there and enter, and they said "absolutely". We were buzzed in and greeted at the front by a lady who was sitting at the front desk. We were unsure if we needed to pay or not but she just told us we could walk around. Inside we were able to see art from different artists from all countries, including Colombia, Venezuela, Chile, Cuba and Germany! There was a lot of art from Botero and Wilfredo Lam. It was really cool to be able to walk around freely and see all of the sculptures and paintings. We were the only people in there, aside from the employees. A hidden gem!

Secondly the type of shows done there are far more adult oriented... shows like stand up comedies (which we know can be foul mouthed) and of course the two times I have gone there including the most recent has been to see burlesque/cabaret.... which is certainly someplace you want a secret entrance for... The most recent show there, Erika Moon's Burlesque Avant-Garde was incredible. Certainly something you don't expect to see in theater. It was fun, sexy, funny, and memorable. I had seen one of her prior burlesque shows at this theater about 3 years ago with an ex of mine (Erika Moon's Burlesque Maginfique). Most recently I took my brother and a very close yelp friend of mine to it and we all loved it... I know I certainly did... I think my jaw dropped dozens of times. It's a small, very intimate space... you can see what's going on the stage simply because the space is so small. It also has a small bar which serves snacks, beer, wine and hard liquor.. and it's brought to your table while you are watching the event... again a difference from the main stage. I think it's a wonderful little venue and certainly one which I have fond memories of. I recommend anyone in the area or in miami to try this theatre out and the different types of shows it gives you won't find in your typical theater.

We are very happy we did! The venue itself is great. It is theater style, with about 15 rows each with about 15 seats. Their are tables to the sides of the venue. The stage is raised and the back half of the rows are tiered. Every seat has a great view. Not a bad seat in the house. The help was extremely friendly and helpful. Everything about this place is great. We saw Motown Magic, who were excellent. The variety of shows is very good. Overall, I would say that our experience was wonderful. We will check who is playing there and buy tickets whenever we comeback to our condo in Florida.

It is one of a handful of homes in South Florida on the register of historic places. The Villa Paula has miraculously survived the trauma of the devastating hurricane of 1926 and attempts to tear it down.  Now Lovingly restored, it is a place for discovering art treasures -- ranging from Renoir and Picasso to Wilfredo Lam and Miami's homegrown genius, the late Pervis Young. The original bucolic environment of the villa grounds is preserved in the garden with its cascades of bougainvillea and its graceful pergola, perfect for enjoying food, wine, and music. Some people believe it is haunted by the ghost of Paula who was the wife of Cuban Consul Domingo Millord and for whom the house was named. Supposedly she died in 1932 after having one leg amputated. There are stories all over the internet claiming that this is the most haunted house in Miami. If you love the idea of owning a haunted house then you are in luck because Villa Paula is for sale for $4.5 million dollars. If you saw the neighborhood in Little Haiti you might be a little skeptical as to the price tag of this property. The house last sold in 2016 for a mere $500,000. It was used as an art gallery managed by Martin Siskind. The house is jointly owned by Martin and his brother Richard. Martin wanted to sell but Richard didn't. The dispute between the brothers has finally been settled and the mansion along with four other properties is now on the market. They are justifying the large price by saying that this is an up and coming neighborhood like Wynwood. The house is a designated historic site so it cannot be changed. It will be interesting to see what is eventually done with it. I am hoping for a museum or something in that vein that honors the history of this property.
