Just spent a three-day staycation at this hotel and I will definitely be back. This is the only hotel so far where the internet access is decent enough to allow me to work online. Just a quick tip: make sure there are no file-sharing sites running in the background, or the system will block internet access for an hour. The accomodations (I had a premiere deluxe room with a California King bed) was definitely relaxing, especially if you are lucky enough to get a room at the 5th floor where the view of the city is good and the street noise cannot quite reach you at all. The rooftop pool is small but time your stay during weekdays like I did and you can pretty much have it all to yourself during the mornings and afternoons. They also have a fitness room with a fairly modern stepmachine and treadmill (even better than the ones at Gold's Gym!) but the cherry on top of the relaxing cake is a spa conveniently located at the 2nd floor of the building. The therapists are quite good (mine was Daisy) and the heated massage beds just add to the experience. Book the massage through the front desk for a discount. Some of the room features that I particularly enjoyed (other than good wifi access) were: the extra deep bathtub, big glass windows in the ensuite bathroom which come with blinds for added privacy, the TV speakers that hooked up in the bathroom, and the vanity table and chair where you can use your laptop comfortably for hours at a time. Breakfast is a modified buffet served poolside; the food at their inhouse restaurant was just okay but the cocktails were good. The staff was friendly and always helpful. This is our favorite hotel in metro manila. Superb staff, beautiful rooms, nicely detailed, beautiful rooftop pool and bar, and a very good salon in the same building on the ground floor. We've made a number of friends with staff members here because they're so damn friendly. Every time we go to the Philippines, we make sure that we stay here for at least a couple nights. My only complaint would be the rooftop restaurant, which was only mediocre when we stayed there, so maybe it has improved by now. Not that it really matters; the place is virtually surrounded with good restaurants only a short walk away. read more

Cozy, like you're in a cocoon. It's a green hotel. It tries to be as zero-waste as possible. It's interesting how they try to achieve this. Their toothbrushes, for example, are made from plasticized cornstarch, fully biodegradable. Pretty cool. Room was nice. Bathtub is deep. It's showing its age though, grout is on the tiles and stuff, but nothing major. TV is a basic flatscreen with cable. Really wish they would upgrade to Chromecast! Service was nice. Everyone helped and stuff and said good day to you all the time. 24/7 kitchen so your midnight munchies are going to be satisfied. However the food isn't great. Breakfast buffet had me disappointed. It was a partial buffet - you order your main course ala carte and then there's a ton of free bread over there. The cocktails were bland and not fun :( But that's nitpicking. It was a nice stay. I stayed here last year in rm. 414 and overall had a good experience and great service regardless of the bathtub faucet being loose , toilet paper holder being loose and treadmill making a banging noise in the rear everytime weight was put on it. This year, I stayed in the same room, 414, but my overall experience fell to a 3. I entered my room and turned on the TV...nothing. I turned it on and off a few times and would only get a poor signal or no signal message. I called the front office to let them know.... waited 10 min.....called to follow-up...after a few minutes someone arrived and did something in the back and a picture came on. After a few minutes I decided to turn off TV to test it. After turning it back on again poor signal message came back on. Again called front desk, waited a few minutes, again followed up and again waited a few minutes for someone to arrive. Technician checked connection again but this time needed some tools to do the necessary adjustments. Eventually left and everything was good. Later on the day. I went for my complimentary foot spa and my scheduled body scrub and massage. Upon arriving I was surprised after a few minutes I was asked to get ready for my scrub and no foot massage. I had my body scrub and massage but still no foot massage. Upon checking out I inquired about the foot massage I didn't get. They said it was supposed to be scheduled. It would have been nice to be reminded or inquire whether I wanted the complimentary foot massage at the same time. The thing I was most disappointed at was how warm the AC was even though it was set at 17 degrees C. I didn't realize this until I was getting ready for bed and couldn't really feel any cool air from the bed. I even tried closing the bathroom door in hopes the cool air would reach the bed. I had to sleep on top of the sheets near the foot of the bed to feel a little breeze and still woke up a few times because it felt warm. When I used the treadmill the next day it was nice and quiet with no banging noise like the previous year. The AC was set at 25 degrees C and it felt so much cooler than the AC in the room set at 17 degrees C. I might try them again one more time next year but not stay in room 414 and see whether I can have an overall uneventful enjoyable stay. Mikee, overall, was a great help and was able to modify accommodations in a few minutes another person there couldn't and kept saying wasn't possible. read more

Hotel Cocoon is as inviting and restful a place as the name implies. The staff greeted us with fresh kalamansi juice and maintained their professional and attentive service for our entire stay. The management accommodated our complicated schedule, we had a stay before and after an island trip and had people in our group in and out. Our rooms were always ready and and had everything we were looking for. My favorite part was the rooftop breakfast. A perfect way to start your day with your newspaper, hot tea, and a delicious breakfast. read more
