I wanted to give New World a try after meeting a friend at the lobby here once. The lobby is expansive and well lit creating a very good impression of a modern hotel that can stand up to the likes of the adjacent Shangri-La and Peninsula, and a natural extension of the classy Greenbelt 3 mall across the street. However underneath the facade of the lobby is a very meh and dated hotel room. Desks with old wooden squeaky drawers, an air conditioner with a mind of its own, no DND indicator at the door, and a faucet controlled by two knobs that need constant fine tuning throughout the shower. The check-in and check-out process seemed to take forever, and I can't imagine what it would be like during peak season when they're likely slammed. It's not all bad though. I think it's nice that they use Malin+Goetz products in the bathroom. And the bed itself seemed the one new contemporary thing in the room, which made for a comfortable sleep. The breakfast selection was decent, and a complimentary welcome drink was a nice touch. Still, given the variety of competition and options in the neighbourhood, I wouldn't make it a top choice despite it being the closest walk to Greenbelt. read more

Their rooms are top notch, their elevators are smooth and quick, we were blown away with the customer service. They truly reflected Filipino hospitality. I have over 30 years in the US 4-5 Star hotel industry, from big boxes to resorts, and travel regularly in SW and SE Asia. The front desk and concierge staff of this hotel (New World Hotel) could not be more uncaring in regard to guest concerns and matters during my stay, May 15-28th-2025. The staff appeared to be more interested in their personal symbolism (as mighty-fine-hotel-agents) than meeting guest expectations, preferring otherwise to move guest along like cattle, a real sign of poor back office management. Be careful, the water coming from the shower head in my room was so hot it possibly could kill a person, if a guest fell in the show with the shower on full hot. The guestroom case-goods appeared to possibly be also found in an old Holiday Inn Express. I learned from HGK they washed and dried guest laundry in the same washers and dryers used for guestroom towels and such. I had ask for the guest laundry attendant and AHK to come to my room and explain how my laundry was being so poorly returned, after searching the area's two public cleaners near by having no joy, example ... 5 days to wash and press five shirts? My guestroom phone message light blinked for three days upon my arrival , as no one answered my call to the center to turn off the RED BLINKING LIGHT , resulting in me going to the FD to have someone turn the red light off, with the concierge telling me, "I must call the message call center"? Over a week after notifying the FD in person concerning my phone message light matter, two non English speaking maintenance tech showed up to fix the phone message light or non message center answering issue. Not sure how they were covering their behinds on the phone issues. Having book my room for two weeks, I asked to extend my stay for one more week, and was given an over 100% daily rate increase, because the hotel had a higher occupancy for 2-3 days vs me attempting to rent my occupied room for an additional seven (7) days. Hmmm. Bad business or yield management? I think children are managing the FD. I rent around 200 room nights annually, plus groups of US executives who meet with me around Asia. I will never book a room at the New World Hotel again, where they do Hotel-Sometimes at the FD, Concierge and PBX. They had me in the hotel to make my stay right, but preferred to find another guest to replace me instead. Me having been in the hotel business, for the life of me, I have no idea how a (non prior Hotel manager) guest can get issues resolved after bringing matters to the FD. No idea. Warning read more

Don't ever stay in this hotel!!! The front desk lady I spoke to on the phone was profiling me and stated, "Do you know we are an upscale hotel?" so I shot fire and said, "Yes, I am aware, and at least I can afford a room there." I only wanted to inquire if I needed to make reservations to watch the Euro Cup Finals at the Rouge Bar. First and foremost, just because you work at an upscale hotel doesn't mean you have to act so superior when a customer or guest is inquiring. This is my second time at the New World Makati and it was still a great experience. The hotel is clean and well maintained. There's a nice, refreshing scent upon arrival that is very welcoming. The check-in process was easy and friendly. Our room was well-appointed with the basics and we had a view of Metro Manila. The daily breakfast buffet was very good - lots of variety and options for all tastes and dietary requirements. The options were mostly focused on Filipino cuisine, but here were other Asian and Western items as well. The location is excellent - right in central Makati and right across the street from Greenbelt. The area is very walkable and good for pedestrians. Greenbelt is perfect for shopping, dining and other entertainment options. The Landmark, a good mid-level department store with a grocery store at the lower level, is a 5-minute walk from the hotel. The Ayala Museum is less than a 10-minute walk from the hotel. There are really only a handful of ideal locations to stay in Metro Manila and Makati is definitely one of them...this hotel was perfect. The staff was friendly and I really felt like they cared about their guests. New World Makati is a fantastic hotel that is well located and has an attentive staff. For the experience and area, this is tough to beat. This is my go-to hotel! read more

Highly recommend this hotel! The lobby is amazing and very spacious. The bar is open late and they have a live band in the evenings. There is also a cute little bakery across from the bar. The room was very comfy and good to relax in away from the heat and humidity. Great location as well with it being walking distance to the Green belt mall. read more

It's hard to rate a hotel when it comes down to nitpicking details, but I guess if you have to nitpick it's already a 5-Star rating. My boss and I stayed here last week. We scheduled a transport from the airport to the hotel. When we got out of the terminal we went across the street where the major hotels have little offices. We waited there in some AC while they brought the car around. The trip to the hotel was less then 30 minutes, with only 5 minutes off of the skyway. The hotel has a security check point and then a covered driveway. A bag check and metal detector before hitting the door. There was always someone opening the door. Not as cute as Manila Pen with their white uniforms but good none the less. All of the Lobby staff were courteous and attentive. Once I walked through the Libby and someone would always intercept me to help direct me or grab a bag. Hotel room was solid. Good size, mini fridge, good sized bathroom (s little smaller then Manila pen). The basic internet plan was a little weak though, had buffering and stutters during peak. Breakfast was good. Soup station, omelette, Filipino, juice station, cereal/yogurt, pastries. The waffles/pancakes confused me though. I saw someone there once and they said come back in a few minutes, but I never saw them st the station after that. The pastries had had a blueberry Ensenada which was d licious. Overall excellent service and it's good location across from green belt 3 and around the corner from glorietta. More convenient than Manila pen in many ways. The Lobby of Manila Pen is a lot more epic though, but new world has a more modern feel. read more

This was easily the worst of the three 5-Star luxury hotels we stayed at in Manila (the other two being Manila Peninsula and Edsa Shangri La). In the US, New World would struggle to be considered a 3-star. Gym and locker rooms are equivalent to a high school's facilities. The rooms have very outdated and incredibly annoying technology that are not intuitive and just flat out dumb. For example, the light controls are awkwardly placed only on one side of the bed (out of reach from the bed I might add), so the other side can't turn their bedside light on or off as needed. None of the switches glow, so you will need a flashlight in order to find exactly which of the 9 light buttons to push to find your way around in the dark. Or you can just hit the large Master light switch and light up the entire room and wake everyone up while you're at it. Climate control is nonexistent, you only get FREEZING, or lukewarm and humid bc you have to turn the AC off to get back to a comfortable temp. One bar of soap in the bathroom to be shared between the tub, shower, and sink. Other people's greasy head stains are permanently imprinted on the headboard and it is so freaking disgusting you won't want your head to go anywhere near the headboard. The bed feels cheap and bouncy, and when you sit on the edge of it, you feel the hard edge rub into the backs of your thighs because there is almost zero padding there, and the middle sinks in. Shower controls are installed incorrectly, so it will take a while to adjust the water to the right temp. Towel bar on shower door opens straight into the toilet, so if you hang your towel there, it will definitely rub against the toilet bowl. Toilet seat and lid do not have a soft close feature (which even 2-star hotels seem to have these days), so you WILL end up slamming the toilet seat in the middle of the night. And you WILL hear your neighbors do the same. They provide slippers, but they're almost literally made of paper. But seriously, the "spa" facilities is a joke. This is absolute nowhere close to a 5 star. Overall, a pretty lousy experience, and we feel deceived. read more

My family and I stayed at the New World Makati Hotel for over a month and have gotten to know most, if not all the staff. They have become like family and have accommodated all of our needs, making us feel right at home! At the executive lounge, on the 24th floor, special shout out to Jon Jon, Dolly and Stevene (Steven with an E) . My sister and I had breakfast every morning at the lounge and everyday they were so warm, happy and always cooked me special dishes that weren't included in their menu! At the gym, I would love to give a special shout out to Dennis. Not only is he funny, but he personally trained my sister and I how to box and volunteered to be our own punching bag . Overall, one of the best hotels in Makati! Great location and you can't complain when you are less than a couple steps away from the Greenbelt malls. read more

The buffets are expensive (compared to all food pricing in the city) however they are luxurious and well worth it. If I'm ever back in makati, I would definitely stay here again! Tip: they offer an inexpensive breakfast package if the buffet is too expensive of an option. After 32 countries and countless hotels there are certain standards you come to expect and it's rare to be surprised by a hotel experience. The New World however was a surprise package for all the right reasons. It goes without saying that you can expect a five star hotel with facilities commiserate to that standard. The staff at this hotel were simply amazing. Genuine, friendly, very professional and proactive we experienced the best service we have had in a very long time. The location is very practical with a plethora of restaurants and shops close by. The room was meticulously clean and well appointed. Stayed at this newly-renovated hotel for a conference. Got turned-off at the start because of bland food and very slow check-in. I was scheduled to check-in at 2pm, but it was not until 4+pm that I got my room. I had reserved earlier that my wife would be staying as well, but when I got to the room, there were only one pair of slippers, one toothbrush, etc. Maybe I was having a really great day that I didn't actually mind or made a big fuss about it, but the next day, I felt the sincerity of the hotel management team, when they sent an apology letter and some complimentary fruits and wine. I believe they are sincere in making things right and they have earned my respect. The room is spacious with enough lamps to brighten it. You need to use your key card to access the elevators and the electricity, but the insert location is at an angle that's very awkward. The bed is also good, nice, comfortable, enough pillows, and cozy blanket. Really slept well. Breakfast is buffet-style and is good. Although not as varied as other hotels, but I feel the food they serve is enough. A lot of choices might not be always be good anyway. They serve Filipino; Japanese in the form of sashimi (which by the way, has the freshest ingredients that you can really taste its freshness) and maki; Chinese in the form of dimsum and noodle soups, Spanish in the form of arroz caldo, potatoes, and fritatas; Western with bacon and sausages; Healthy with yogurt, oatmeal, fruits, and muesli. They also serve freshly squeezed and prepared juices, while serving the tastiest breads in town. I like the croissant very much because I have tried many and very few can make it as flaky. The breakfast definitely countered my bland lunch the day before. The best thing I probably like in this hotel is the service. The staffs are very friendly and respectful, and will assist you to the best of their abilities until you are safe and happy. Everyone from the reception desk to the toilets, their bright smiles and courteous hellos will bright up anyone's day. The room service and housekeeping were prompt and friendly as well. So we had to quarantine for 10 days at this hotel and decided to stay at a fine hotel since we will be stuck in it for 10 days. We were here for my mother in law's emergency as she was ill. Later we found out she passed away but we are in our first day of quarantine. Mikaela and Jonas did their best to accommodate our needs in times of our mourning. They tried their best to help us expedite our quarantine period but to no avail. It wasn't their fault but they upgraded our room and provided the best service for us in our time there when needed. Food was terrific not much but enough. Room service is allowed but no outside food like Grab. Dim sum was excellent and you all should try it. As for service, the best, as they wouldn't have a five star rating if it wasn't. Very accommodating in terms of providing toiletries and fresh linen and towels but no maid services due to Covid restrictions. On the tenth day we were allowed to go downstairs and see the beauty of the hotel especially the lobby, Wow! Stunning! Definitely staying here again but after Covid restrictions and all. read more

So the hotel charges you for everything, and meals are expensive. Go around the corner for much more reasonable breakfast, lunch and dinner. But everything is clean, the staff is super friendly, and the amenities are terrific. Plus, there's a VERY GOOD workout facility, with machines in good shape, weights, sauna, steam room, etc. I was particularly impressed with the staff in the bar, Jay Vee Reyes and Mark Quising, who made an extraordinary snack (glass noodles with dumplings and other delights in broth -- it was an explosion of flavors) and mixed fruit and tea drink with ginger and mango -- calling it a "mixed drink" would be an insult for this incredible treat. Serving me in the bar, Em-Em Lanipa, and Queency Hidalgo, were warm and friendly, but also knew when I was focused on my reading, and not to bother me too much. However, I could just look up and one of them would come and make sure everything was okay. My Superior Room with a King bed was spacious and immaculately clean. I have been here twice in the last few years and both times this hotel is simply amazing. Customer service goes a long way with my ratings and this place nails it every time. The breakfast buffet is delicious and full of fresh choices with a staff that gets it right the first time. The rooms are very nice and lounge experience in the evening is worth whatever it cost because nothing beats drinks, some good snack food, and the amazing view. The only advice I will give is to have a more reasonably priced transportation service to and from the airport. Other than that, thank you for making our experiences here simply amazing!! read more

New World Makati Hotel is the most accessible hotel in the area for business casual meetings, corporate functions, and last minute stays. It's a functional and classy business hotel with restaurants that could also cater to weekend family gatherings. (Jasmine is one of my favorites because it serves authentic Cantonese food within a reasonable price for the value.) It is also located right across the entrance of Greenbelt 3 so it covers for most of the lifestyle activities that it doesn't offer. When it comes to booking a room, if you're a typical Filipino family with at least 4 adult members, you will need to take up 2 rooms. It's not because they are particularly strict, but because the rooms are small. It's really a business hotel, not a luxury or lifestyle hotel. If you're a small family with kids, the room might suffice - especially considering you will be there to sleep and swim only, spending most of your time out and about in Makati CBD. If you are on a business trip, though, NWMH will take care of the essentials. What you primarily book at NWMH is the convenience and safety of the location. It's right on the premises of Ayala Center, everything is walking distance, and it's a pretty nice neighborhood! The hotel itself is just okay and the service could be better, but again, you're there for a comfortable bed, a clean lobby, and proximity to a lifestyle rather than the lifestyle itself. read more

It's literally a stone throw away from greenbelt, which is an exciting place for dining and shopping. I have been staying here for quite sometime. The friendly staffs are very welcoming as soon as you enter the hotel ground. Book a suite to qualify for the easy check in located in the members lounge. This is also gives you access to all the amenities like the business lounge and happy hour at the lounge. Rooms are renovated and modern. Very clean and comfortable with all modern necessities. Some how I managed to eat a little bit of everything. I started with the adobe, rice and beef station. The chicken adobo was absolutely delightful. Most savory and moist. I was directed to try the salty fried fish and salty boiled eggs with onions and tomatoes. Omg, so delicious. I'm sorry not to remember the names of all the dishes and stations. I had the fish soup, eggs, ham, juice bar, and desserts. I do recommend the steam rice be a little bit more soft and sticky like jasmine rice. However, everything was 5 star. I definitely recommend this buffet. Heide, thank you for keeping my coffee cup full and your suggestions. Jhane, thank you for all your suggestions on the culinary delights. New World Hotel.. you surprise me! The first time I was surprised, it was pleasant. I got a cheap room through hotels.com and got upgraded to the lounge floor with free food and drinks. The room was just renovated and the lobby as well. Service was super friendly. Second time I was surprised again. The service staff weren't as friendly, they were a bit chaotic and the room we got was really shitty and old. We complained and got upgraded to a 'suite' which was renovated as well, it was just done without any style and it still felt really old and not modern at all. Even though you can have a 5 star experience here, there is a risk you won't. So for the inconsistency I give it 3 stars. read more
