Everything about this place was amazing, from communication via email, easy check in, friendly staff and the amazing room. We only booked for 2 nights, which I regret now that I've stayed here. This place is 10/10. Gabby, who checked us in was so thorough explaining things since it was our first time here. His customer service was excellent, in addition to all the staff that offered to help with our bags, as well as housekeeping. Our room was on the 19th floor and from the moment we walked in, it was just wow. It had an elegant and classy feel. It was incredibly clean and very spacious. It came with everything we needed. It had a washer/dryer which I wish we could've used but we only stayed for 2 days. Plates, utensils, cups, dish soap, microwave, stove, it's all there! They also give complimentary snacks and drinks. The shower area was very spacious as well! We never got to try the breakfast or room service here because we met up with family and ate at a restaurant inside Greenbelt. Greenbelt mall is walking distance and there is also a 7-11 right when you walk out so you can grab snacks and drinks if needed. I will definitely recommend this place to friends and family and will look forward to staying here again whenever we do come back to the Philippines read more

BEDBUG WARNING: I stayed at the hotel from 2026/06/23 to 2026/06/24. On the morning of the 24th I noticed bites on my arms and legs but I chalked it up to mosquito bites. I checked out early AM on the 25th to catch a flight back to the US. It wasn't until I got home and showered that I noticed the numerous amounts of bites on my body. The cluster/pattern of the bites points to BEDBUGS and not mosquitoes. Service and food was fine but the bedbugs overshadowed everything else. Stay safe out there. read more

When I was trying to decide on a place to stay in Manila I honestly had a hard time deciding because there are so many fantastic options. I started to narrow them down by adding more non negotiable conditions and this is the hotel that I ended up with. I reserved a 70 sq meter 1 bedroom suite with a bathtub. It was perfect for my toddler to enjoy. A nice amount of running around space mixed with luxury and functionality. We had an in unit kitchen with a full fridge and freezer. A nespresso was also used and appreciated. Because this is Asia, a kettle was ready for use as well. The unit had a walk-in closet and massive bathroom. There was a washer/dryer unit as well. This was a great suite for a family vacation. Breakfast was included with our stay. We only visited the restaurant on the rooftop deck, which had a filipino breakfast buffet. The breakfast was amazing every single day. They rotated main dishes to keep you coming back. The service at this restaurant was outstanding. They do have many options for food including a takeaway option so you will not get bored even with an extended stay. I'm really looking forward to coming back someday. Our check in was on the 27th floor at The Club Lunge and welcome tea drinks were provided, delicious. We booked a one bedroom suite as we are traveling with a toddler. The room is spacious with a washer and dryer, full kitchen with complimentary snacks and drinks, water filtration system; and a rainforest shower! There is also an indoor lap pool and kid pool, gym 24hrs, TRX studio, spa, and private cinema if you book a 2 bedroom suite. There is complimentary food and beverage privileges: buffet breakfast from 6am to 10am with a continental cuisine and Filipino cuisine, all day refreshments at the Club Lounge from 6am to 9pm, and evening snacks at the Club lounge from 5pm to 7pm! Both buffets have a large selection of food, fruits, and sweets! Green belt mall is just across the street with lots of shops and restaurants! this is my second time staying here, still the best! love going here bc it close to everything. greenbelt is just across the street. also, the staff here is super super nice and accommodating! we had a larger room this time so we checked in on the 27th floor. our stay included: free breakfast (which was amazing btw) and also free drinks/small bites at their club lounge from 5pm-7pm. the rooms are sooo nice and spacious. on top of that, our room had a washing machine/dryer which is amazing! also had a kitchen area. the only thing i wish they would change is the check out process. i wish we can just check out over the phone or the tv (which is common here at the states). sometimes, checking out is too long since the line to check out moves super slow. other than that, i would stay here again and again. read more

I'm currently staying here for 5 days and I'm on my 2nd day and all I can say is FABULOUS!!! I booked for my first day with 2 bedroom for the folks who picked me up for my flight from California. It was very noice!! Haha I meant nice with an Australian accent. There's kitchen with washer/dryer in one. Then I changed it to 1 bedroom with no VIP and breakfast. It was nice and all but I need to get that breakfast buffet! It's a must!! Drip coffee and all with variety of food (Japanese, Filipino, American, Indian, and for vegetarian). So I decided to go to the front desk and purchase a four day breakfast for two. But hey! Leo was like "If we upgrade you, you get free breakfast for two, VIP snacks from 5-7 PM and a movie theater on reservation!! " I was like Hell yeah! With guess what... an upgraded hotel room bigger than the previous one I had. I know it's not free and all, but hey I only come to the Philippines once! Why not Poknat! Gym is really good as well. Let me start with the club lounge privileges, buffet breakfast (don't worry if you woke up late, there's a voucher you can use at their partner restaurants for your late breakfast), all days refreshments alc and non-alc, evening snacks that is is so filling, it's basically dinner, there's also a private cinema access for guests in 2 room suites, and of course the pool and the gym/trx. As for the suite, there's a huge dining and living room space, I love that it includes washer/dryer machine and water purification system! Everything you need to cook a basic meal is here. It also has water kettle, nespresso machine and dishwasher. ALL hotel employees we've encountered were friendly and quite helpful! There were an array of foods from tropical fruits to pastries, fresh on the spot made omelette or egg of your choice to the bacon, hash brown and pancake. You leave satisfied. Not to mention the exemplary service JB provided. He was attentive and remembered our drinks from the day before. Try to come early for breakfast for better selection and get a coffee to go. If you wake up late don't fret and you'll get a P400 credit voucher for a pre selected restaurants. The rooms were spacious with a furnished kitchenette and washer/dryer. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It was our first time and had a nice experience. The 1 bedroom suite is quite spacious and comfy. What I loved and enjoyed the most in the bedroom were the pillows. I hate flat and hard pillows. The pillows here were fluffy. Having a washer/dryer is a nice touch. Only thing I wish they had was a microwave. Would have been nice if there was a microwave to heat up your food. Then again we ate out most of the time. What we truly appreciated here are the staff. From security, bellhop, concierge, etc they are all super friendly and helpful. We also liked seeing the K9 Kalim at work ( might not be spelling the name right). Staff is the reason for the 5 star review :) Location is great as you are next door to greenbelt and take the pedestrian bridge/crosswalk to the rest of the malls like Glorietta, Rustans, Landmark, SM, etc. Enjoy the Legazpi sunday market that is only a couple of blocks away. read more

Reserved this place on Orbitz for 3 nights. It took about 20 minutes to arrive on a weekday around noon from the airport. The best way to get there is from the street SORIA and not Gamboa. Soria is more of an alleyway where you can park your car to unload the luggage, and there is bellhop service waiting there. Gamboa is a busy street with no parking available in front of the property. Overall, the stay was very good and comfortable and I would stay here again. Pros: Excellent location - the best part of staying here. There are 2 large parks across the street, both with running tracks. 1 has a playground, and the other is like a tropical rainforest covered with large, beautiful trees. Immediately to the left and right of the property on Gamboa St., there is a farm to table type of restaurant called Kitchen 1B (which was delicious), a coffee shop, a 7-11 convenience store, crossfit gym, and a national bank. In a less than 10 minute walk, there are plenty of restaurants and bars and coffee shops on Don Carlos Palanca St. In a less than 15 minute walk is the Greenbelt mall. Great service - all employees were friendly and greet you, security guards open doors for you when entering/leaving, room service cleaned room well. Comfortable bed, spacious room, nice views. Nice indoor pool and saunas Cons: Outdated gym. The only reason this place isn't getting 5 stars is the gym. I walk in and the room is hot and muggy with the windows open. There are A/C units but they weren't working properly. Treadmills are old and worn out. There are up to 50LB dumbbells and a pull up bar, but the whole room could use an upgrade. read more

We stayed here for 1 week and it was my first stay in Manila. Being my first time, I was a little shocked with the high level of security at the hotel. There were armed guards, a bomb sniffing dog and a metal detector at the hotel entrance. But walking around Makati kinda gave me the idea that having armed guards in front of banks, restaurants, malls and even pharmacies was a fairly common occurrence. Since its the financial district of Manila and there have been other threats, security is tight in general around Manila. I will say, the security at the hotel are very cordial and polite. After a long flight and layover in the region, we arrived at the hotel in the afternoon and was warmly greeted by the hotel staff. The check-in process was smooth and easy. Upon arriving in the room, I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and bathroom. There were some nice complimentary bottles of water, soda, beer and even snacks in the room. The room had a large screen TV (guessing 65"+), a chaise lounger and large windows overlooking Makati. The bed was soft and comfortable. WiFi was reliable and there was a strong signal throughout the hotel. There is an option to upgrade for faster speed but for casual usage, I found the complimentary WiFi was more than sufficient. The hotel has a large lap pool on the 4th floor that is semi-outdoors. To get to the pool you have to walk outside where there's also an outdoor bar area but the pool itself is covered in a greenhouse type environment. The gym and pool are located in the same area and the gym is well stocked with different equipment, definitely one of the best gyms I've seen in a hotel. There are towels available and a water station available in the gym along with a instructor who can assist you if needed. We didn't get to use the pool or gym extensively during our stay but we did try out both and we liked them. I do wish there would had been a jacuzzi at the pool area, maybe near the bar area, that would have been a nice touch. The hotel is located right across from the Greenbelt Mall, which is connected to the Landmark, Glorietta and SM Makati malls as well. The Greenbelt mall is an impressive array of dining and shopping. Keep in mind there are several security checkpoints located throughout the various malls so you may get your bags checked or "wanded" a few times. Greenbelt mall is a series of malls that are labeled 1-5? And the mall covers just about everything imaginable. There is a large variety of eateries in the mall than can accommodate any budget or mood. There's money exchange places and cell phone vendors if you need cash and a local cell phone. There are spas, hair salons, pharmacies, book stores, and even laundry places that make it very convenient (if you're room/suite doesn't happen to have a washer/dryer) to get your clothes laundered and folded. My favorite part of the stay at the hotel was the breakfast buffet. When we booked the hotel, we opted for the breakfast option, otherwise, its an extra 800P (I think). The buffet offered a variety of western options (eggs, hashbrowns, cereals, pastries, etc), but it also offered local Filipino options, Indian, and Chinese options as well. It also had a fresh selection of fruits and yogurt, fresh juices and of coarse coffee. It was great start every morning and I recommend opting for the breakfast buffet option at the hotel. There are though many other breakfast places within a few minute walk from the hotel. On the weekends, some places may open a little later but during business days, the area is bustling with people and places open early. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and look forward to returning the next time I'm in Manila... read more

I was staying at Airbnb next door and the host house had water / plumbing issues during midstay, this condo+ hotel style residence which equates to extended stay options in the US was at stones throw and made a logical choice. They allowed early checkin and made my stay as easy as possible. they are not part of any loyalty program or chain so no points or perks but if you are looking for a fast in and out you can count in this place. the food and breakfast is average but being next to greenbelt you probably won't need any of that at the hotel, they provide complimentary twg tea and French press equipment in every room. read more

During my 3.5 week stay in Makati (I had a 5 week trip overall in the Philippines), I've stayed at a few 5 star hotels to see which ones I would return to for my upcoming trip in February. I travelled with my mother, whom previously stayed at Shangri-la and New World Makati. She was very happy with both places, as she should, since the price point wouldn't allow one to expect for any less. Her standards are the same as mine so I'll take her word for it. I tried out the Fairmont, Alpha Suites, & Makati Diamond Residences. The Fairmont was fabulous, I highly recommend them. Alpha Suites has potential, but they're working on doing better, which I commend them for. If you have high standards, you won't be happy there, until they fix all of the things that are in dire need of improvement. Now that I've saved the best for last, MDR is just an exceptional place to stay at. I don't have one negative thing to say. I ended up staying here on 3 different occasions, each time picking a different room. Even when I downgraded to a Studio room, my treatment did not suffer so I know that they take care of all of their guests, regardless of which room they stay in. My advice for anyone choosing this property, whatever you budget for, splurge for the upgrade. It is SO worth it. Not that there's anything wrong w/their smaller rooms, but having an in-room washer/dryer is a life saver. We had a lot of luggage, so having open spaces was important to us. Also, the fancy rainshower head everyone raves about is in their suites. After a long day of working, shopping, etc., the shower is the best part & something I always looked forward to. You'd have to experience it to know the relaxing feeling I'm speaking of. I have one myself, in my bathroom. But the one in MDR is the biggest I've seen, it's twice the size of mine ( I picked the biggest that was available at the time) If you get a suite that is 70SQM & up, you get access to the Club Lounge. They have their own dining area for breakfast, apart from the Continental breakfast on the ground floor & the Filipino breakfast in the Sky Deck (which is abundantly bountiful w/delicious food ALL the time). They also have happy hour from 5-7 w/ complimentary beer, wine, other spirits & snacks (but not just nuts & popcorn, think of roasted veggies, smoked brisket, opulent desserts, etc.. the menu rotates daily on these, so you're not experiencing the same thing every day). Complimentary non-alcoholic beverages are available all day, but the lounge itself, is open from 6a-10p. They're very attentive in the lounge, no matter where you choose to sit. This is important to me, bc it means they pay attention to everyone. Renz, was most gracious, everytime we went there. I probably bugged that front desk so many times (I had a few situations going on that just added to my mounting stresses), but they never expressed being annoyed w/me. Especially Kevin, he is so awesome & made sure everything I needed was tended to, right away. The genuine caring aspect the entire staff has, at Makati Diamond Residences, is just proof of how Filipino hospitality doesn't just apply to their family & friends, but how they go above and beyond, to transcend that same warmth to all their visitors, no matter where they are from. What l learned in regards to hotels, is you definitely get what you pay for. A few trends I noticed in the 5 star hotels, is that the staff are nice to look at. They're always fresh-faced, smiling, impeccable uniforms & are there to make your stay is as comfortable as possible. (True) 5 star hotels are immaculately clean. This is SO vital. Everytime housekeeping pays a visit, they are crawling on the floors (especially the bathroom), making sure no crevice or corner is missed. This is why it's important to tip your hotel staff, not just Housekeeping. They don't get paid enough for the amount of work they do. If you factor in all of the rooms they have to clean in a day, unreasonable guests they have to deal with, their hourly is not enough for compensation. Someone mentioned that the in-room amenities are outdated & the furniture, bland. I've no idea what this person is saying, as the appliances are indeed, up-to-date. The decor & furniture is mid-century modern chic. I find it to be classy & stylish. Idk what this person expects, but don't bash something that isn't true. I'm returning in 4 months and I'll certainly be staying at MDR. I just can't give them enough glowing praise. They really are the best of the best. read more

My job took me to the Manila Philippines, where I previously stayed at the New World hotel in Makati. I was suggested to stay at the Diamond Residence in Makati by a friend. I was a little hesitant, but after reading the past reviews and viewing the website, I elected to stay there. At first glance, the diamond resembled every bit of a five star establishment. The staff was extremely professional and sensitive to the costumer's needs. I was very fortunate to have the club access in my package which I was not disappointed. Just about every morning I went to the club and was greeted by Fel for breakfast, where there was a small but nice breakfast bar. Fel always remembered what I have to drink every morning and how I like it. Every morning I tested the limits of the catering the staff would do by asking for items that were not offered on the bar. The kitchen and staff were more than happy to make sure that all of my requested were filled. One morning was pancakes the next an omelette then following day was oatmeal and then corn beef hash. All the food tasted as if it was carefully well prepared. I was truly impressed. The Club staff, Kelly and Jamie, always knew me by my face and greeted me every morning with a smile and "how did you sleep". I did take advantage of the massages at the hotel, Romy was my favorite. She takes pride in her craft, giving her clients an honest, decent, and tentative massage, in my case this was a nightly event. The massage service at the Diamond was extremely affordable about 50% less compared to New World Hotel. The club staff, specifically Kelly, took my calls and answered my text even when she was not working to make sure I was always taking care of. Personally, if I travel back to Manila, I planned on staying with them. One last thing was the price, It cost me $80 less per night; for more room, accommodations, and airport transportation than it did for me staying at the New World hotel in makati in Manila Philippines. I just wish the Diamond Residence would be an option for me regardless the country which I travel to. This hotel is definitely a 5 star. From security outside to the check in desk, which we were lead to our "special check in at the club lounge". That was a special touch. We had access to the club lounge which served food and drinks all day and night until 7pm. We had free breakfast everyday and had 3 different choices of breakfasts on 3 different floors. Staff is excellent, every single one of them. A Plus! This hotel is extremely clean, beautiful, spacious rooms which had a kitchen equipped with plates, glasses, coffee cups, cutleries, fridge, nespresso, oven and stove top. Not to mention a 2 in 1 washer and dryer. A dining area with a dining table and chairs. Our bathroom is huge equipped with toiletries and extremely large rain shower. This hotel has the perfect location. It's directly across the street from Greenbelt, which leads to Glorietta, Landmark and SM. A long overdue kudos to the hotel. We stayed there for a week in December 2015 and it was such a pleasant surprise given that we discovered it online. The hotel is luxurious, elegant, and classy in a very understated way. Because it is smaller, it is more intimate and everything is easy to get to - the lobby, the elevators, the restaurant, and even parking. The staff, and I mean the entire staff, was very friendly, welcoming, and helpful. I felt very safe and cared for (a special shout out to Calvin at the restaurant who took extra care of me when he realized that I wasn't feeling well) and will definitely stay here again the next time I visit Makati. read more
