There are quite a few breweries in Lincoln now, but not many of them do the classic styles as well as Code. I'm a big fan of their cream ale and red ale, and even the berry lemon sour is quite good! If you want big barrel aged stouts and triple IPAs, maybe go elsewhere but for a solid beer in a comfortable spacious taproom, Code is a great choice! Located in the Telegraph district, but can usually find parking in the lot behind the building. I also like that they are open a little later (11pm) on weekends! read more

We stopped in here on a Friday afternoon. There were plenty of seats available. We tried the DIPA (hazy), Berry Lemon sour, and the Wood Wee (scotch ale). My favorite of those was the Wood Wee... but be aware it's 10.5% ABV! So get a half pour if you don't want to be tanked. Service was great too. We will be back. read more

Good place to grab a beer. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and the space was about half full. Code Beer has the classic industrial feel that many breweries share. The beer acquisition process is efficient and the beer is reasonably priced. They offer three sizes of pours optimal for tasting different beers. Awesome, awesome beer! Glad they were open at 2pm on a Wednesday. We only went there because they were the only brewery open at that time and I'm glad we found them! We had a flight of beers and all of them were tasty and unique. We in fact even got a brand new six pack of an IPA they had literally just canned a few hours previous and holy cow is it good and fresh. We got to meet one of the brewers while we were there. We were in Lincoln from Denver those weekend. We loved it here! Very friendly and attentive service. Loved that they allow dogs inside- we brought ours in since we didn't want to leave her at the hotel. They were super welcoming of her and us. We tried the IPA and pale ale among others. My favorite was the citra wheat- it was very citrusy and fresh! They had some nice sours and porters available too. Overall a great place-will definitely stop by again when we're in town! read more

The wait is over!! Lincoln's newest - for now - brewery and taproom is open and it does not disappoint. Located on the southeast corner of Antelope Pkwy and N street (direct access via Lincoln's premier dedicated bike lane), Code is your no-nonsense stop for delicious beer. Our bartender was both cheery and knowledgeable, explaining that she is married to one of the brewers and therefore it was especially important to her that we have a good experience. The beers we tried were true to style and well made, hooray! Taps included a cream ale, a red ale that was nicely hopped, a porter, dark wheat and saison. We will see what happens with the menu as the seasons change. The tap room itself is gray, Husker red and black. One of the demolition/reconstruction crew members who helped renovate the building came by to visit while we were there - clearly proud of the work they had put into the building. They had huge projector screens showing both NFL and the World Cup games today We come here whenever we are in town. Good for kids and pups! Dog friendly near downtown Lincoln with a nice selection of beers, and food from a food truck as well. Didn't get a chance to try the food but did enjoy the sour beers! They had two which was a plus for me considering if a bar doesn't have a good sour I don't buy any beer. Polite & quick service and they had parking in back. The beer and atmosphere is kinda 'meh'. Its not bad, it's not particularly great. It's just 'meh'. Oddly a lot of the beers have a very similar flavor profile. As if they are the same with 1 ingredient difference. As I sit here, there are a couple very regulars (even one has his name on the seat) so all the service attention is over there. There are a lot of breweries to choose from in Lincoln. Code excels at brewing basic ales. This is not a bad thing. On the contrary. In an age of brewers rushing to do barrel aging, dry hopping and the like it is refreshing to see excellence in the fundamentals. Code brews some very tasty low gravity beers. Their Dark Mild and English Bitter are exceptional. Additionally the staff is friendly and accommodating. If you're looking for solid beer, Code is a great choice. read more

I wish Lincoln had more places like this! The decor inside is amazing. The employees have been great and very helpful each time we have been there. They have an okay selection of beer. I would give 5 stars if they had a larger selection. My favorite is the Scottish 80. Pre covid-19 they will play UNL sporting events on a projector. I can't get enough of this place. Their beer is better than many of the famed Colorado breweries. Consistent and refreshing. Love Code Beer! They consistently put out some of the best beer in the Midwest! They often host a good cart called roaming tacos, that offer some of the best fusion tacos I have ever tried.
