My mother in law has been waiting for 6 months for her chairs and nothing. He keeps giving excuses and saying he'll show up with them but never does. He's done this to many other elderly women in there area. She's elderly and recovering from a heart procedure and just has uncomfortable wooden chairs to sit on now while she waits and waits. I have been doing business with Randy Cody since 2018. At first everything was great. Then COVID-19 happened and he told me how he was struggling and asked if I could please help him by paying him cash. To make a very, very long story short; I gave him $1500 cash to reupholster my sofa and chair. He has continued to lie, lie and lie!!! Do not trust him. Do not pay him cash and DO NOT USE his services. I gave my receipts showing I paid him. He will sweet talk you and lie to your face Very sad that I once respected and trusted him. read more

I took a set of chairs to Cody's Upholstery on 7/8/19 to have them reupholstered and the springs replaced. He explained what would be done but didn't give me a deadline. I paid him, hoping this would expedite the process and anxiously awaited their completion. Mid December I called for an update and Randy gave me a story of how they would be done the following week, just in time for Christmas. I waited for a call to pick them up but heard nothing the following week. I tried reaching out after the first of the year and again was told they would be done "next week." Once again, I never heard back, so I left messages, but they were never answered. Then COVID happened so I didn't begin pursuing the matter until July. I called Randy again and he told me they would be ready for pickup on Tuesday, July 7th after 5:30. That morning Randy called me and said he needed another day or two to finish them. Never heard back, so I called on Thursday, July 9th. Randy told me there was a death in his family and he was out of town but would get back to me the following week. Never heard from him. I called again and he told me he was in Denver getting test run and wouldn't be back until the next week. After expressing my frustration, he offered to have his son deliver them on a Friday. Once again, I never heard from anyone. I called yet again and threatened to take him to Small Claims court. He returned my call and said they would be delivered the next week. I received a text message stating they would be delivered Tuesday, September 8th between 5-5:30. The chairs never arrived, and no one told me they were not coming. Beyond frustrated, I texted Randy to inform him not to deliver them and I was taking him to court. The next morning, I had a fairly long conversation with him about being stood up and why these chairs are always going to be done "next week." Randy was full excuses and finally said he would deliver them on Friday, September 11th at 10am. At 9:53an Friday morning, Randy text stating he was finishing up with customers and would be there within the hour. At 11:45am I text and asked where my chairs were. To which he replied he was leaving in 10 minutes. He finally showed up at 12:23p. Never one time did he apologize for any of his lies. Upon inspecting the chairs, one has significantly more stuffing than the other, pleats are different on the fronts, the springs do not feel any different than when I sent them in. He also shorted me three throw pillows that were on my invoice. The one pillow I did receive looks like it was sewn in a Home Ec class. After having my chairs for a year and a half, I expected a better-quality product. The entire experience was miserable to say the least, and like I told him, I'm just glad it's over. If you have furniture that needs reupholstered, please take it anywhere but Cody's Upholstery. read more

On Aug 14 we paid Randy Cody $647 to order materials to reupholster our couch. On Sep 8 ,the day he was supposed to pick up the couch, he called us to say he can't do the work because his doctor says he's disabled. He said he would reimburse our money by Fri Step 11. He discontinued his phone so we cant call him. Today is Nov 3rd. We are now seeking help from our credit card company to recoup the money. He lied to his bank that he did the work but we never picked up the couch. So now our card company says they can't help us. Do not do business with this guy! read more
