She told me that this was the first pregnancy out of 4 that she did acupuncture and this was her first pregnancy that she didn't have morning sickness and nausea!! I think it shows in the demeanor of our lovely child. She is a very calm and happy baby. I definitely think the pregnancy acupuncture has something to do with it! I don't mind paying for quality care, but I do mind being rushed through what amounted to about 25 minutes of impersonal treatment. The doctor never asked about my job, lifestyle, or what caused my chronic shoulder pain. There was no intake, no conversation, and no questions beyond "where does it hurt." He spoke to me for only a couple of minutes, placed needles in what felt like a generic, one-size-fits-all pattern, and left the room. Someone else later added a very low level of current to only one small area and left again. Then a different staff member removed the needles and gave a "massage" that consisted of about four minutes of rubbing Biofreeze on me with oversized gloves. As a small business owner and a holistic practitioner myself, I would be sickened if a client walked out of my studio feeling the way I do right now. They knew I was paying out of pocket, yet the experience felt like a rushed, churn-and-burn insurance visit. It was impersonal, disorganized, and honestly felt like a factory line. To add insult to injury, my shoulder wasn't even bothering me today, but after this appointment and the stress and disappointment of the whole experience, it is tight again. For comparison, my husband had acupuncture with another practitioner in town who unfortunately moved away, and that experience was the complete opposite of what I received today. That practitioner spent a full hour with him, asked thoughtful questions, and tailored every part of the treatment to his needs. What I experienced today did not resemble that level of care at all. The doctor saw me for maybe five total minutes. Paying $160 for five minutes of actual attention is unacceptable. I left still in pain, upset, and feeling taken advantage of. I was genuinely excited to try a holistic provider close to home, but after today I will not be returning. The staff were friendly, but the entire environment felt confused and uncoordinated, almost as if a training session was happening and no one quite knew what to do. Overall, it was an extremely disappointing experience.

I had been quite ill for about three years and became frustrated with all of the poking and prodding ( 3 surgeries, and 1 year of physical therapy) my primary and all 14 specialists were asking me to endure. My labs, tests, cat-scans, MRI's and surgical findings always came up "inconclusive" or just "slightly off/out of range", no real definitive answer or name for why I felt so awful and my body was morphing into someone I no longer recognized. After the last major surgery I was desperate to feel well again and deteriorating quickly, with no faith in the physicians and surgeons caring for me. My primary said I was just a sensitive woman and indicated I may just have anxiety issues. Enough was enough, I took a leap of faith and emailed Dr. Tais who kindly responded and answered my questions about billing, payments , labs, and tests before scheduling a first visit via email. She let me know I was welcome to telephone with any other questions. I did telephone and she called me back, I was a little surprised at first because rarely does the actual provider speak to you on the phone themselves. Upon our first visit I found Dr. Tais to be kind, caring, patient, and a very good listener. She ordered a few labs, requested all of my records from my previous 14 specialists and primary care doctor and said she'd phone when results came in. In ONE VISIT and ONE ROUND OF LABS she chose to order she found the culprits of my rapidly declining health!! ONE VISIT !!!!! I was relieved and upset all at once, I wasn't crazy after all and SHE found out what was wrong in ONE VISIT!!! One of my first questions after wrapping my head around the treatment and the fact that I absolutely knew something was wrong with my health was..... "Did my previous panel of physicians miss this key indicator in my many rounds of labs with them?" Yes , they did!! It was right there in the labs that they forwarded to her themselves in black and white. It has taken everything in me to not go back in to every one of their offices and point out on their labs and her labs the egregious oversight that robbed me of 3 years of my life!! The doctors that my insurance would cover visits for wasted my time, resources, ordered time away from work, and missed my children's many milestones (years of my life) because they overlooked their own orders and labs. I am not a wealthy person and have paid a few thousands of dollars over the past three years trying to resolve my health issues. Had I only known about Dr. Tais and her practice I would have spared the three years of damage to my body, and had a much healthier and larger savings account. She is now the only doctor I trust, I chose to continue with her practice even after pinpointing the root cause of all of my many symptoms and am now a loyal and lifelong patient. I am feeling so much better now and we are working to fine tune the treatments to get me back to optimal health!!! Made an official complaint with the Board of Chiropractors about the chiropractor I reported to Torrey and I also will be sharing Torrey's behavior about the report as my mom is another patient of hers and that is extremely inappropriate for her to bring my mom into the conversation. Also, from how frustrated she sounded about making a report and kept defending this chiropractor that was sexually inappropriate with me, I was worried she would not report it herself. I have proof of the misconduct that I will be sharing with the Board. It's tragic it came to this. If Torrey had offered to keep us from having any contact where I can go to the office and be able to avoid seeing or talking to him, that would have been amazing because then I wouldn't have been scared to continue receiving care. But instead she got defensive, was only concerned about her business, and immediately got inappropriate with me when I started crying on the phone and couldn't stop when the chiropractor I had seen for over 10 years was defending the other chiropractor and not offering any solutions for me. I didn't say I was going to sue them or anything, but her reaction to me was like I was threatening to sue or something. Which I wasn't in any capacity. She said "what do you want me to do?" about the situation, and I said "I don't know, I just want to be able to attend treatment without feeling scared."
