First off, the name through me off a bit. I was looking for a coffee shop and thought this was one. WRONG. Not even close. This restaurant is quite large. Family style restaurant. Slightly outdated. We were seated promptly. I quickly found out that there was only one coffee available here. A Hot cup of coffee. Which was fine. I ordered it. It was almost like drinking water ran through few coffee grounds. Very watered down. The waitress was kind even bringing me vanilla syrup for it. Unfortuantly, that made it more like syrup water with cream. My husband ordered a burger. It wasn't quite cooked as much as he prefers but he ate it. I was very impressed with the unstuffed pepper soup. It was the best thing there I think. (Ordered per the recommendation of the waitress) The Ceasar salad threw me off. It was more of a chefs salad/house salad with ceasar dressing. It was a bit odd to me. Never had tomatoes or cucumbers in my ceasar salad. The chicken had a weird taste too making it hard to eat. Our waitress was great, the prices were reasonable. It was alright but not the greatest. I would come back for more soup if I were around town again. read more

Hire a new morning staff perhaps....I was humiliated and deeply embarrassed by the horrible serving staff at this establishment Coffee Cup Cafe. Saturday May 30 2026 10:34 a.m. Two female servers who work here day shift are extremely rude and disrespectfuI. I am 67 years old and I received the worst treatment I've ever had in my life today. I have been in this place a few times and I have paid 22% in tips to the undeserving, dark haired, unfriendly looking female server that normally works the counter... who is also the slowest laziest server in the house.. leaves hot food sitting in the window for the longest time. The last time I was there, I had to get the host person to politely refill my coffee twice because the the dark-haired, very rude counter female server I guess just couldn't walk that far. This rude server waited on me several times but today Saturday May 30th 2026 she and the, blonde female server treated me like absolute crap. The blonde haired server Is just completely unfriendly, scowls and always seems to be in a bad mood. I have not seen a smile on this server's face ever. Today, they teamed up and decided to humiliate me in front of a crowded restaurant of people and the entire counter was filled with people observing this interaction. I think they should re think being in the service business. They both treated me horriblly. I asked the blonde haired server, who was at the cash register when I walked, in if I could sit at a booth as the counter was completely full. The place was packed. I was told by the blonde haired server I could sit at any available place. I sat at a booth that was clean, it had placemats on it. The dark-haired female counter server wasn't observant enough to look over the table and see that it was clean and had placemats but she just didn't want to wait on me and kept screaming you can't sit there ...you cant you sit there. I had even pulled the sugar container over toward the placemat where I was sitting getting ready to have a cup of coffee. She should have known who I was instead of saying hello, she yelled at me several times and told me I couldn't sit there, it was a dirty table when actually it wasn't. She did not bother to listen to me nor did the blonde server who told me I could sit anywhere available. I did not pick a dirty table. This was absolutely rude and disrespectful. After this interaction, the blonde server told me I could leave as if I did something wrong. I went to who looked to be the hostess and asked to speak to the owner. Sadly, she told me the owner had left and was not available to speak with me. read more

Went to restaurant for desert,on Sat. Night. It took a few minutes for wait staff to bring us menus. We ordered pie. When it was brought to us we had no silverware, the waitress left so fast I didn't even get to ask for silverware. I got my own silverware from another table. Terrible service read more

Our family went for dinner and ordered there Hamburger special plates. The quantity and quality of the food was awesome. I had enough leftover to take home and have another meal the next day for lunch. By comparison, we had stopped in another town for lunch and spent $37 for two of us and for all three of us at the Cafe we spent only $57. Which was amazing considering the difference in quality and quantity. Would recommend this restaurant to anyone that wants the best overall food for the value and exceptional quality. read more

Local cafe my family and I stopped at here for breakfast on our way to Missoula from Darby. It's in Hamilton. It has old towney vibes which is sentimental, feels like I went back in time with the place mats being local business ads. They have a big menu, lots of options like your typical diner and do breakfast all day which is nice. I got 2 eggs over hard with bacon, hash browns, and a blueberry muffin. It was all delicious! My husband got the bacon omelette with hash browns and white toast. My stepdaughter got the 2 chocolate chip pancakes but they were really BIG! I definitely recommend getting just 1 for kids. Overall, food was yummy and our waitress was friendly. Good place to go with the family. read more

My first time visiting A few days ago went I to order to go. Everyone was so kind and helpful. The food was exactly what my mom wanted so fresh and homemade. Went today I was excited to bring in my mom and daughter and we were greeted very rudely like we a burden . I almost left. We don't expect much but not feeling welcomed. Ignored and not treated kindly at all. I never leave bad reviews. Maybe we were there at the wrong time of day and others were having a hard day. The food is still homemade and done well especially the pies my mom loves. I want to like it but don't recommend. The servers ruined it. read more

My wife and I are in town visiting family and stopped by. They were packed because of a local farmers market down the street. Despite the crowd we were in and out in under 30 minutes. Maybe they're short staffed and the woman was overwhelmed but the way she spoke to my group was the worst. Nice selection on the menu and daily specials. Visited on July 9th slightly before lunch time. Was busy but service was good and food was great. Prices more reasonable than most restaurants these days. Atmosphere was friendly and there were numerous people that were obviously 'regulars'. Very homey and charming. We were there when the Apple Festival was going on so it was really busy. Food and service was really good as usual. We sat at the counter & watched the staff dance around each other & it was amazing to watch! My husband had a hankering for an apple pie & he bought a full pie....not my favorite pie either so I wasn't very happy....we also talked to the delightful baker as she was filling the baked goods case. We got home...warmed up the pie with some ice cream and the pie was AMAZING! I'm A convert but only for the Dutch apple pie at the Coffee Cup! Last night we stopped in for dinner, a place we have always loved. Cheryl and her team always do a great job. Sometimes the team members changes but never the quality of service of food. This "Food" is TERRIBLE!!! I would not recommend eating here unless you would like to get sick, and have disgusting food! I ordered a side of bacon, and it was BURNT really bad! I never write bad reviews for businesses, I believe if you didn't enjoy the experience then just move on. But this review felt necessary to write because I've never had the most horrible and demeaning service anywhere until this restaurant. This truly was one for the books. It's a shame we ( party of 5 )came in the night before, around 8pm, restaurant was dead but our waitress was amazing and laughed with us the whole night. We returned the following morning and you could tell our other waitress had a snippy attitude. Nothing to ruin your morning over, just had to make sure you were extra polite to her in case she felt like not topping off your coffee or checking on you. The food was actually pretty good but unfortunately my granddad (90 year ) had a complaint about the hash browns and wanted them remade. Our waitress, ill-mannered, yelled " what do you want me to do? You need to tell me what's wrong about them" She caused a scene in the whole restaurant. When she returned to drop off check, my grandpa made a remark about her attitude and she replied " I don't care, you're not my boss. Bye!" We could see her snickering about it with her co workers who kept looking at us. Eyes were on our table, it was so humiliating. My kids were making remarks about how the waitress was scary. My husband and I looked at each other in such disbelief. We travel and have eaten at countless restaurants and never have had such abhorrent service. To top it off, some locals made some remarks about us on the way out the door which my husband told me to grab the kids and wait in the car. This restaurant absolutely hates tourists and they make it very known at your expense. Absolutely no taste. I had a ham and fried egg sandwich. It had one piece of ham on it, about as thick as a piece of paper. I didn't think they were able to cut it that thin. I had a salad with blue cheese dressing. I didn't think it was possible to have blue cheese dressing with no taste. Discusting experience. One side of my sandwich was like a sponge it was so sopped. Horrible service at the Coffee Cup. Came here with a friend to do some homework and eat a little snack. Cafe was empty except for about two other families. We were disrespected from the moment we set foot in there. Waitress was snappy and short tempered and did not even maintain eye contact. Said they don't do wifi here but had at least 5 Wi-Fi's with the name CCup and snapped when we asked. Not a great experience and I would recommend any other cafe in Hamilton but this one. read more

The breakfast my family had was wonderful, there were 6 of us on Labor Day. The place was extremely busy and under control . The wait to be seated was not long about 5 minutes , the very nice lady at the front told us 10-15 minutes , and she even came by with coffee and to check on us personally. Our waitress Brenda was wonderful . The kids pancakes were a big hit with my 2 and 4 years olds. Will definitely be back next time we are in the area. read more

Worst dinner meal, how do you make dressing that is tri-colored. I did not know what it was until I tasted it and all I could taste was sage. I ordered pork roast but not sure what the meat was. The only thing legit was mashed potatoes but the beets were right out of the can. My husband ordered chicken fried steak and it was frozen, probably from a Food Service business, and thrown in deep fryer. I wish someone would sue them for their sign which states, Home Cooking. Breakfast might be good but our dinner was horrible and the waitress did take half off our bill but she never came over and asked if our food was ok after she served it. Service was the worst - server seemed genuinely offended that she had to wait on us. It was a disappointment because we (party of 2) were looking forward to eating here and didn't expect what came next...but... I'm white and as country as they come, but my guest is Filipino and it was obvious even to ME what her real problem was. Some old woman then came from the kitchen and pretended to need something just so she could come out and get a good look at the non-white guy. The food was actually pretty good (assuming no one spit in it), but I watched another server cut a piece of pie for someone else with her right hand, while she held the top dead center of the pie steady with her left hand. Then she transferred the pie piece to a small plate with a pie server and her sticky fingers. I'm not just throwing that in here for dramatic effect, either. The problem here isn't "out of towners", "city folk", "Hollywood types", or any of that other bs some of these other reviews suggest. This is an unspoken "whites only" establishment, period. Let's just call a spade a spade. So if you like your burger with a side of old-fashioned ignorance (or the flu), then stop in and these mouth breathers will begrudgingly accommodate you.
