First time coming here, I went to the drive thru. I greeted and complimented the girl in the window,, she thanked me, took my order, said "cash or card?" without a total. I gave her a $10 and got $2 and a few coins back and still nothing was said... so it was nearly $8 for a medium with substitute milk. She gave me my drink and I said "thank you have a good day!" And I barely got a response back. Coffee is alright. Maybe work on customer service a little bit... lol read more

The food and coffee are decent. They do have some really odd rules, though, like not allowing a drink carrier if you have fewer than three drinks. I understand not automatically giving out a drink carrier, but if a customer asks for one, it really should just be provided without much issue.Products like that are simply part of the cost of doing business. If this business is pinching pennies over paper drink carriers, I really don't want to know how they're cutting costs in the kitchen.Everyone wants to support local coffee shops, but it's really hard to do that when they can't offer even the most basic products and customer service. read more

This place is ok. Located in a central area but because of its location, it's very noisy. Sitting inside you get the noise from the coffee or other machines. It's small inside so you can't get away from the noise. Sitting outside you get the noise from E First Ave which is constant. read more

I was a little wary of the negative reviews, but Coffee Ranch was the only coffee shop on my list that was open on a Monday morning. Service was fantastic, staff was incredibly friendly and brought our drinks to us outside. I had meant for this to be a pit stop for coffee but the outdoor patio was so nice, we ended up sitting in the shade with the pups and taking our time before our looong drive back to SoCal. Black coffee. The beans were from Kenya, which is not my partner's bean country of choice but he said the coffee was good anyway. Oat milk latte. My incredibly particular mom said this was the best latte she's ever had. Dad and I were shook. Iced cinnabon oat milk latte. Surprisingly balanced. Cinnamon forward, which I like, but not overbearing. Lighter on the maple flavor, which I'm grateful for, as maple can get real heavy, real quick for me. Carrot zucchini bread. This was slightly flour-y to my palette, but overall, not bad. Moist, and not too sweet. read more

They actually ruined my lunch surprise for my one year anniversary today. I was picking up my fiance's favorite bagel and got something for me that I didn't even really want but I wanted us to be able to have a quick little picnic for his tiny 30 minute lunch he gets between his delivery job and I was going to meet him with it as a surprise. I ordered at least 35 minutes before I needed to pick it up and got there, and not only did they not have my order, they ran out of everything to even make a substitute, entirely. The children that work there, probably should go back to daycare. Fake smiles, fake professionalism, just fake all around. Except for the tall doofus that came to the window, he didn't know how to fake it yet so he was just an unprofessional dumbass. read more

The cappuccino and avocado sandwich I ordered were great! Service was very friendly and the order came out quickly. I came in to take a meeting but the place inside is small and they have an open coffee bar and kitchen, it was pretty noisy. Unless you have a good quality noise cancellation headphones and a microphone that can filter out the background noise I wouldn't recommend it for work or study. read more

Coffee Ranch is a great place for breakfast! They have an assortment of fresh pastries and bagels, as well as made to order breakfast sandwiches and burritos. They were well staffed with friendly and efficient employees and had plenty of seating indoors and outside on their patio. read more

I was looking for a new coffee place. Located on first Ave it had plenty of parking. It was empty of inside customers. I wanted breakfast but they only offered 2 things like a burrito or muffin with egg or vegan egg - turn off. Then the pastry's looked old and not many. I settled with bagel n cream cheese. While the bottom had a lot the top had little to none. Coffee was very bitter so I added cream and drank it It appeared clean . Server was pleasant. I'm Danger Monkey As far as trying to study here forget it crazy Gaga music was loud maybe cowboy music. I had to eat n leave. Wont be back sorry. read more

My husband and I were staying with friends in Chico for a week. We went to Coffee Ranch three out of the five days we were there, it was that good. We ended up trying all of their different coffee offerings and on each visit I got their green smoothie which is basically a protein shake with greens in it. Highly recommend the green smoothie! The coffee was good too but all the different flavors pretty much tasted the same. The coffee beans were well roasted so that is a plus. Customer service was great, and they were always crazy busy when we were there. Ambiance was fun, you could sit inside or out and hang out, work, or just people watch. We will definitely be back when we are in Chico again. read more

This was my second time visiting, my initial experience wasn't great either but I decided to give them a second chance. Never again! Once again, waited in their drive thru line for 30 minutes, this time to get to the window and be told the drink I wanted (and found through the online ordering website) was no longer available and they were all out of bagels when I planned to order a bagel sandwich. So I needed some help picking a new order and the girl at the window wanted none of it, she was very short and seemed annoyed that I had questions about the menu since it was only my second visit. Overall I left with something I didn't want because they were out of what I did and the barista was no help in helping me find an alternative and I felt like just a huge inconvenience to everyone working there. I got the avocado toast due to it being fairly new, I've been here a couple time with my boyfriend for smoothies which were good. Back to what I got today, $10 avocado toast! that's crazy to me, they described the bread on the menu to be high end, deceiving, it's soft and lack of sourdough flavor, the rest was good. Ordered a tea and decafe latte. The place is beautiful inside and they have a drive thru too. The pastry display looked good. The two hard working women were taking orders making drinks and food by their finger tips, you can't be upset at them for a longer the usual serve time. This place knows coffee. When I travel for work or leisure, the first thing I do is look for a coffee spot. This is Chico's coffee spot. Fresh, smooth flavorful coffee with good breakfast options. I had a large order placed for work (coffee and 3 types of breakfast burritos) and it was a hit. I went back and tried an iced vanilla latte.. also really good. Can't go wrong with Coffee Ranch. First time coming in, ordered the veg egg croissant sandwich. It was absolutely amazing!!! Which ever girl cooked it was kind with the topping, ensuring my fullness (couldn't finish it all). I had a very welcoming time and barely had to wait even though mid-meal I had discovered they also had a drive thru!!! Holy cow these girls are killing it! I'm leaving this part last only because it's not positive. I had also ordered the Cinnabon latte, sadly the coffee tasted burnt. With espresso machines, there is a mesh "filter" that presses against the coffee while it drips the espresso, my espresso at home tastes like this one here when I forget to wipe the "mesh". I'm giving the example just to keep my hope that it was the clogged mesh and not that the coffee naturally tastes burnt. I will be coming back for a second try at the coffee, maybe this time I'll do the Cloud 9!! read more

Very tasty breakfast! I got their dark roast coffee and breakfast bagel sandwich with mushrooms on a plain bagel with their red salsa. I ordered To-Go, so can't really speak on what it feels like to just hang out in the place, as I used to love to do at cafes. The bagel alone was super delicious. It was buttery and flaky and not dry at all. More like a croissant and bagel combo than a normal bagel, and I'm super into it. The eggs were fluffy and had bits of cheese mixed in, as opposed to being slapped on in a big slice on top, giving it excellent texture and flavor with each bite. I drank their coffee black, and while I tend to prefer my coffee stronger than basically any place makes it, I still enjoyed the flavor, and that it lacked the acidic aftertaste that coffee has when the beans are rancid or burned. All in all, I found this breakfast to be wonderfully comforting in the most delicious way. read more

I went inside so I saw it all. They were not pleasant or polite, they just laugh when they mess up. The quiche is too small for the bagel but good on its own. My favorite coffee shop in town for flavored lattes! They always have the absolute best flavors, both on their permanent menu and on their seasonal menus (the Pecan Pie Latte is my absolute favorite) and they make a lot of season syrups/sauces from scratch. The employees are always nice and provide quick service and the drive-thru is a plus! read more

I really enjoyed my drink but my food order got messed up and since I'm visiting from out of town it was a big disappointment. The menu is pretty confusing , we almost didn't think they had food until we got to the final menu which is displayed in an unclear way. I wanted a bagel Sandwich and it was when I got back to my Airbnb I realized I only got a cream cheese bagel. Very different then a bagel sandwich so I'm just bummed out. read more

This place was so cute! Kinda far from campus, but definitely a destination. I need a large order for a group project, and it was nice to get local coffee and treats rather than just plain old Starbucks. I thought the employees were really nice and careful with my large order, which I appreciate. For specialty drinks, I recommend the Nutella Mocha! read more

Picking up orders at coffee ranch left a very bad impression for a first time experience at this coffee shop. The older brunette lady who works there is very unfriendly rude and snatched a drink holder for my hands. What if I had no drink holder or person in my car to hold onto drinks! Not sure if she's a manager, the owner or just a barista that's miserable , her Karen behavior was unacceptable. I smiled and still told her to have a better day because her energy was very negative. Sometimes I hate having to stick to it, and this is one of those times! GO HERE...it's worth it and as close to 5 stars as you can get! I have been here twice now...I dk why I didn't review the first time! Each time I have gotten their Cold Brew (see photos). The inside is a very small and quaint fun place to hang out. Probably a total of 25 people at most. If you're looking for a local coffee place to just hang out this is a GREAT choice! They have fun books to read, a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and a very cool feel inside. They also have a drive thru, which is great for being lazy! But there inlays my ONLY complaint (hence the 4 star review). A drive thru should be quick! While I know it's a small place and the staff is not huge, I was in the drive thru for 20 min! They had someone come out and take the order before getting to the window, which helped speed the process, but I still felt it was too long for just a cold brew! That being said, get the cold brew if you like that strong flavor! It's phenomenal! They have 4 different sizes! All very fairly priced, and it was NOT loaded with ice! They put some in there, but DEF gave you your moneys worth of coffee! To recap, GREAT place to go! Only reason I can't give 5 stars is because of the wait time in the drive thru! read more
