I've been following along with Shift on IG for quite a few years now (since they were a coffee…read morecart/pop-up), and I've had them on my list to check out foreverrrr. I'm only in town a couple times a year and I don't always make it to the downtown area. During our most recent visit, we stayed at an Airbnb nearby and I finally got to visit Shift (YAY!)... What a great local coffee shop! The inside is cute & minimal and I loved the mural spanning the space. The staff was super friendly as we perused the menu, and my decision was easy once I saw that they have a seasonal fall menu featuring house made syrups. The carrot cake one immediately caught my eye, and I ordered a carrot cake latte. My husband got the classic pumpkin spice and yep, it was like drinking fall in a cup. It's so cool to see a gem like this reppin' the hometown. Also cool that they brew Bandit Coffee (out of St. Pete) which we are big fans of. Wishing them continued success and I look forward to coming back the next time I'm in the area!

That is not a taste that I have any interest in developing as I would rather eat grass mixed with seaweed than sip on Matcha. Getting that out of the way, on a trip to Ft. Meyers, a request for Matcha was made and sure enough we spent the early morning yelping for Matcha and found this place. It looks fairly new and is part of an apartment t complex. The place is small, and sure enough the clientele fitted the Matcha seekers that have popped up in all urban areas. There were Lululemon' on display, women with tiny dogs, bodies that should all be on the cover of magazines and foreign cars in the parking lot. My daughter got her Matcha which set her on a high energy mood and excited for the rest of the day, so atleast I got something out of it. I did not want to be seen anywhere near a Matcha place so had my dark glasses on, a cap and stayed close to the entrance. My daughter did order me a chocolate chip cookie to make up for my misery and In all fairness it was really good. My daughter raved about her Matcha hence the 4 stars. So if you are craving Matcha, carry a small dog and fit in Lululemon clothing you have found your match!!

I tried the cup of dirt hot coffee which to me was the perfect blend of flavors between chocolate and rich dark coffee! The blueberry scone was warmed up and cooked to perfection. We've been by later in the day so haven't gotten coffee from here, but love the setup and vibes - great lineup of drinks. The main area of the first room is skate and surfing clothes, gear, etc. Nothing I do or use but some cute clothes for sure! The back room has some sale and secondhand items, and we score big here every time. The secondhand section is tiny tiny, but it's right up my brother and I's style alley. He scored two nice safari-style shirts and I got a really cool tee! He also found Dickies pants for $8 - insane steal. The atmosphere and vibe here is great, and they have some indoor and outdoor seating if you're grabbing coffee. Off the main drag of downtown, but worth checking out for sure if you're in the area!

Contemporary, but a little noisy as the hard surfaces are non-absorbing. We had a caramel latte, cappuccino and an order of egg bites. Latte was delicious but not hot for a chilly day. The cappuccino was perfect. Whereas the egg bites were served plain but unfortunately NOT as good as Starbucks. We noticed that unlike our regular surrounding stores that we were the eldest clientele here. Come for the coffee & youth. While the staffing is still sorting out, it lacks a personal touch and has yet to create its unique persona. Staff was mostly idle and instead of service to their clients it was stand around. And yet they ask for tips for no service at all. On our 1st visit we arrived at 2:30, just as they had closed. Seniors enjoy sitting in the afternoon and sipping non-alcoholic drinks. Unfortunately, only Starbucks caters to our hours & tastes. Give me BETTER than Starbucks and you will earn my business.

Unfortunately, the $18 "chef special" shrimp tacos were very disappointing. The menu photo looked fresh and vibrant: diced onions, cucumbers, peppers, a nice salsa. What came out was the complete opposite. The shrimp were cold, inconsistent (some with tails, some without), and the vegetables were grilled and soggy instead of fresh. There was also no dressing, which made the dish feel unfinished. Don't get me started on the hash browns. Overall, the experience didn't match the expectation at all.
