I had a sad, sad laksa here lol. It looked generous when the bowl of it came out but for a combo laksa, it had 1 or two pieces of each seafood and 2 pieces of chicken. Broth was too dilute too. The reason it gets 3 stars is because I actually liked my bfs Sichuan chicken with rice. Actually added it to my laksa to try grasp some flavour and it sorta worked. There's so much to try on the menu so maybe another choice next time is in order. The thing I love about this place is that they serve honestly good food for cheap. It's a great casual restaurant that caters for both Asian and Western palates, with an extensive menu. I'm talking about steaks, pasta, sandwiches, stir fries, soups, noodle and rice dishes. It's always busy whenever I venture out there. Service is fairly fast and efficient, never have they gotten my order wrong in the 7 or more times I've been there. I don't like the plastic chairs though. They're a bit weak and bends a bit, which scares the heck out of me but thankfully, I've never seen nor experienced an unfortunate incident there! My favourite is the mixing noodle dish. Very tasty sweet-soy like sauce on noodles with toppings of BBQ pork and another meat. For the life of me I can't remember if it's chicken or duck lol. But it's delicious! The baked cheesy rice dishes are very homey and satisfying. I had ribs in Peking sauce with rice tonight and it was quite enjoyable. Would've loved the batter to be more crunchy but the flavour's great and there's pineapple! It was on special for $10.90 and comes with a drink (extra 50c to make it cold) and a little bowl of soup. I have no doubt I'll return again because this is a great, casual place that always has something for everyone! Little tip though. I've got a little secret, not only have I been going here for at least 6 years, I have been running around town telling everyone it's called 'Jack's'. I honestly did not know what it was called until last year, my friend and I were discussing the same place at Market Square and decided it was in the same spot. But she called it Coffee Square, and I kept saying 'Jack's'. I learnt the right name then. The reason I'd been calling it Jack's for so long is because my friend who knew the owner called it Jack's because his name was, yep, you guessed it, Jack. Correction made, let's get down to business. They are open late, until 12:30am, which for anyone looking for a feed besides McDonalds after dinner time, is just plain super. They do close the actual kitchen around 10-11pm but still serve tidbits and drinks until late. I was first a little bit suspect of the menu because it was all over the place, the entree's were on page 6, the mains were split up into subgroups and those groups were split up some more, so it was a bit of a labyrinth to navigate yourself around. They serve steaks, they specialise in baked dishes, baked spaghetti, baked chicken... baked whatever, it comes out looking the same, encased in melted cheese straight from the oven. I had the baked chicken the first time I was there, and I didn't like it. The second time I went there I had the salt and pepper tofu (great), the sweet and sour pork ribs (awesome) and the chicken and pineapple fried rice (delicious). While the dishes are yummy and served really quick, the drink to get here is the green tea iced frappe. The first time I had this drink I almost pee'd myself. It was huge. It was so good and I keep going back there for it. Definetely a great place to get food late at night if you're in the area, the prices are around $10, quite cheap as well. But bring cash because like all the other places in Market Square, they don't take card. read more

Despite the rather odd name, this is one of the best places to go for Chinese food. Serving up bowls of piping hot noodle soups, delicious main dishes and Western options, the emphasis here is on quick preparation and huge servings. That may sound like a recipe for something that isn't very tasty, but the fact that the restaurant is constantly packed ought to tell you that assumption is wrong. A friend and I discovered this place a few months ago, and we have been back time and time again. I will tell you that I took my parents and they were not as fond of it as I am; it's probably best suited to the younger crowd. My mum found her noodles to be smothered in too much sauce, which she might be right about, but personally I love a lot of sauce. So, you have been warned. Apart from that I have always been incredibly happy with my meals. I generally switch between the vegetarian egg noodle soup and the chicken chow mein. The noodle soup comes with a hefty serving of vegetables floating above the even heftier portion of noodles. Some of the vegetables are things I've never seen before, although I have decided they are some kind of seaweed. Either way, it is delicious and even though it is enormous, I can't help but force myself to eat every last bite. The chow mein is also great, although I would prefer some more vegetables to be thrown in. I do have to say that the service leaves a little to be desired; while some of the staff are attentive and smiley, others are rude and leave you waiting. My favourite part about this place is the prices - most of the noodle dishes are around $10. Some of the main meals cost a little more and I haven't actually tried any of those, but they do look great. The menu is huge with a thousand subsections. They even serve Western food such as pastas and burgers, although my philosophy in a place that offers a range of cuisines is to stick with the one they are known for, or go somewhere else. If you're craving steak, it's probably best to avoid the place that advertises itself as selling Chinese. read more

Delicious! Whenever you are near Sunnybank I would recommend that you stop for a meal or market trip- some many options, always something new to try! Coffee Square was buzzing on a Saturday afternoon so we gave it a shot, great decision. There are literally 1000 different options on the menu so you are bound to find something of interest with this kind of variety. All very affordable and there are great specials on the chalkboards with set meals for a great price. The restaurant name doesn't really match what you would expect but you cant judge a restaurant by its name:) read more

My fave cheap steak place. Pretty quick service, a wide range of food on the menu. I do not recommend their fried noodles as I had a horrible experience with that - it was inedible. Their soups are also a bit too salty for my taste. My 4 star rating is for their steak and free self serve water and tea. read more

Diverse menu Service is typical for a HK place. They do everything very well and the fried rice is the best in Brisbane. You lose 1 star because nay self-respecting HK cafe should serve roast duck. The absence of roast duck and roast pork is seriously the only reason this place does not get 5/5. Otherwise it is a great place for Brisbane. read more
