Rate it minus 1 star from my first review, he hasn't done much to update or clean up the space. The owner needs to step up its game by cleaning up the space better. The walls are very dusty, and so are the pipes hanging from the ceiling. Flies are aplenty. Service is great, although I've seen a few of the staff come and go. I'm disappointed with the service 9/1/2023. I spent $24 with tips on a bowl and coffee. When I asked for coffee, staff recommended to try their cold brew but unfortunately it did not taste well so I requested a different coffee. They refused unless I paid extra. The owner said they can only add a different flavor to the cold brew. I'm a regular customer but today both my drink and poke bowl were off and tasteless. However, it wasn't bad considering that they don't really specialize in one thing. I stopped by during lunch with my coworkers and ordered their salmon poke bowl. The bowl was fine, but it's not one of the better bowls I've had, and here's why: 1) The amount of fish is substantially less than other poke establishments. 2) They skimped out on my toppings. I could count the number of corn kernels and edamame I received in my bowl, because it was hardly a decent scoop. 3) I don't think lettuce goes with poke bowls, and I would recommend subbing that out. 4) Canned corn 5) The sauce is pretty much sriracha and mayo. However, given its proximity to my work location, it's not a bad option and would come back if I were really craving poke. I also ordered the pina colada smoothie with boba. Wahoooo! Finally started getting out for lunch at work and stumbled upon this little place. The interior is small, but quaint. I arrived right around lunchtime so it was pretty busy! Thankfully I snagged a seat right after I ordered. The salmon in the poke bowl is delishhhhh. Very cold and fresh tasting, with the perfect amount of sweetness in the seasoning. They give you a generous amount of everything -- rice, greens, seaweed salad, kanikama, edamame, and more. I would love to try the different combo bowls they have available, or the hot food they have on the menu. I am a public health microbiologist and work at Harborview Medical Center. Things in public health have been more than a little crazy lately, and coffee is a critical component of success. As a lifelong Seattleite, I have become a bit of a coffee connoisseur; though some would probably tell you that coffee snob is more reflective of reality, but I digress. The two main things I look for in a coffee house are great coffee, and great people with a passion for great coffee. Coffee Tree more than delivers. Concerning the quality of both coffee and character, Coffee Tree and the people who bring it to life are among the best in the city--and this is coming from someone who's been to countless coffee houses. There are some establishments that serve as a convenient go-to for reliably and relatively decent coffee, but not a place you'd go out of your way to visit. At a few blocks from the hospital, Coffee Tree is extremely convenient. It truly is a place worth going to even if it was inconvenient--the first sip of my daily afternoon breve latte is a transformative experience every time. The beans are fresh, the grind is superb, and the shots are pulled perfectly, yielding a rich espresso with subtly sweet notes of caramel that greet you with the unique and intoxicating aroma of well-crafted coffee. Bitterness is nonexistent. Situated on a corner in the shade of trees, and with giant windows and adorable tables and chairs outside to accommodate both indoor and outdoor people-watching preferences, Coffee Tree is a place where coffee lovers will feel at home. Even if you're not usually big on coffee, I suggest a visit; you might just leave as a coffee lover yourself. 10/10, highly recommend. P.S. I feel compelled to add that, as a Seattleite, I borderline despise Starbucks. Coffee Tree & Poke is conveniently situated in Pill Hill so its a great place for those that work in the area. I went with the poke bowl with salmon. The bowl is similar to 45th Stop and Shop's where its displays other toppings such as avocado, ginger, krab salad, masago, edamame, greens and corn. To be honest with you, I wasn't crazy about this bowl. The poke wasn't as seasoned as I was expecting and under the krab salad was a salad with sesame dressing (aka the side salads you'd find at teriyaki joints). Normally I enjoy these salads but I didn't like how it went with the other flavors in the bowl. The bowl wasn't huge but I couldn't finish the bowl since I wasn't liking the mix of flavors. If I do end up at Coffee Tree & Poke again, I will definitely just get poke and rice. When walking in I was blown away actually! The look is sooo cute! It's great for the neighborhood, so many people came there on Saturday to visit the new "talked" about spot! I live near the coffee tree and heard about this spot opening. The owner was mixing up a tasty poke dish (photo) which is different from the other location and PERFECT! I was pretty disappointed that the 'spicy tuna' was just some tuna with some spicy mayo drizzled on top. Once I mixed everything together, I didn't really get a whole lot of flavor. While the fish was fresh, and they didn't skimp on any of the fixings, the whole bowl sort of missed the mark for me. For ~$13, I was full, but wished it had packed a bigger flavor punch. read more

I liked how you don't have to decide what goes in the bowl, as that always overwhelms me. It is a standard set of ingredients and there is no shortage of anything! The service received was superb! My order arrived incomplete, and when I called in to inquire about it they really went above and beyond. In my mind I was expecting a partial refund or a note that I could pick up my remaining items at another time, but instead they went the extra mile to deliver it to me personally. That kind of service, to go that extra mile really speaks to the quality of service they provide. The poke was fresh and delicious and the First Hill Tower was delightful with a lovely hint of spice. This all makes me really sad because I have always looked forwarded to coming here but for the price, the food lately has not been worth it. The red snapper and salmon looked nearly identical, it took some poking around to finally figure out which was which. If you want a standard poke, you'll get it here. The seating is limited to a row of about 8 bar stools along the front, so it may be better to plan on doing take-out if you go during lunch hour. The process of ordering your Poke is nicely laid out and very easy to follow. Step 1: You get to choose from Tuna, Salmon, Red Snapper, and Unagi (eel) all of which you have the option of making spicy or keeping regular. Step 2: You get to choose how many different kinds of fish you want, maxing out at 3 and of course, the price increases by $1 with each additional fish. Step 3: Pay the nice and helpful cashier, then wait for your Poke to be prepared. The bowl that you receive your Poke in comes with white rice, regular green leaf salad, crab meat, cucumber, seaweed salad, onion, masago (tiny orange fish eggs), edamame, avocado, and corn. This makes a complete and filling meal, which is perfect for Lunch at work or school or wherever. First time I stopped by I only ordered 1 fish (spicy tuna) and was full enough to put me into a food coma. The quality of the fish and all the food that comes in your bowl tastes fresh which I love because it lets me know I wont wake up with a stomach ache the next morning. This place is so cute! Since there are only 8 seats and all face a wall of windows, take-out or eating alone seems to make the most sense here. I normally only like my poke on the umami side - marinaded in classic shoyu, onion and sesame, but I must've been in a sugary mood because I actually enjoyed the sweeter tuna bowl here. The bowl contained rice topped with a bed of lettuce, topped with fish and 'standard' poke sides. Everything seemed to have some kind of sauce on it: the fish was marinaded in something slightly sweet, the lettuce was topped with dollops of sweet mayo and the white rice was drizzled with teriyaki sauce. If you like your food spicy, I'd recommend getting sriracha drizzled on top instead of the mayo-based spicy sauce, since the dish already has a fair amount of mayo in it.
