I'm not from the are, but back home in San Antonio I always scope out the best coffee places. This made my list! My entire stay I went here to grab some gelato or a cup of coffee! The atmosphere is very nice and in some locations they have book, board games, or magazines for you to enjoy with your drink or food! I'm so sad it's my last day here I don't know what I'm going to do without coffee waves! Grasshopper frap is SO amazing! I enjoyed it very much! The staff is also very personal and unique! Wonderful atmosphere! The are staffs are extremely good looking and creative with their choice of vocab and latte art! Favorite coffee shop in corpus by far! And yes, it's better than some dallas coffee shops as well. Got the iced mocha and they make it almost near perfection to your taste! However if you want gelato is go to the alameda shop. I've only been about 4 times. They had not gotten my order right the first 3 but they had good service so I went back. This time I gave them detailed instructions,2 shots espresso, almond milk and chocolate. They had 5 orders behind me. My boyfriend got his coffee first, then the guy proceeded to take and make every possible order after me first. Then while I'm standing there tells the girl behind the counter "why don't you make her order so she's not like ewwww you made it wrong" the girl walks away from him, he sighs, then finally makes my order. We are tried and true fans of Coffee waves Port Aransas and on the way to south padre we figured we would stop for breakfast at their other location ....drinks were on point as expected but we walked in expecting a quiet coffee shop atmosphere at 9am on a Friday but that was not what we walked into... the shop was packed ! Not a stool to be found while waiting for our drinks... there was a group of business entrepreneurs ... do terra, ect speaking about their experiences ... each would walk to the front and speak and the front just happened to be just 5 feet from the cashier.. it was awkward and over packed and we could not wait to get out of there !! read more

Greatest little coffee shop on this side of town. Locally owned and employees are very welcoming when you come in. Lit well like a coffee shop should be with plenty of seating. I've only branched out to their big train (their version of Starbucks frap) and to me it's even better. And their hot Caramel macchiato. Hubby calls in order in the am and they have it ready in case he's running late to work. I personally would rather support small business than large franchises. You'll always find me here! read more

This is a cute little coffee shop owned by the same people who one the one on Mustang Island. The batista at the Port Aransas seemed a bit more knowledgeable, but this barista was friendly and pulled a good machiato. The atmosphere is pleasant and clean. It's superior to Starbucks for sure. I recommend it to people who are looking for a decent coffee spot that isn't the burnt stuff from Starbucks. A solid choice. read more

This is our favorite coffee shop in Corpus Christi. The atmosphere is chill and comfortable. There are plenty of couches to relax and enjoy a slow morning as well as multiple tables for studying with power outlets nearby. This place has recently expanded and has plenty of room for study groups or meetings and recently added a private meeting room. My favorite drinks include honey latte, London fog, caffe latte and Mexican hot cocoa!! There are plenty of baked goods and sandwiches available. My favorite is the chipotle chicken wrap and the tomato basil panini. You should also definitely ask for your drink in a mug for a insta-worthy photo of beautiful latte art and to really enjoy to aromas/fresh flavors of this amazing artesian coffee! read more

You won't find any info on the actual coffee anywhere, the store, the website... is it fair-trade, is it organic, what is the origin? Cheap nasty coffee is all you will get. Whoever started this chain obviously is about profit and thats it. Like most coffee in Corpus Christi, it's a huge disappointment for anyone who has ever drank actual good coffee. No I'm not a "coffee snob", but I've worked as a barista for years and have yet to see any place in Corpus that knows how to grind and use an espresso machine, ever heard of crema? didn't think so. No it is not that hard to learn, but there is an art and science to making coffee. Proper training for their employees would be a start, along with sourcing some actual good beans, etc. etc. Corpus is just not the place for coffee lovers. read more

My husband and I are the type of customers that won't go into a store that is 30 mins till closing or 1 hour before a restaurant closes. We have worked in customer service for many years before...sooo WE GET IT! Although we thought this location closed at 10...it was 10 mins before they closed (9) and the guy behind the counter was really rude, and obviously annoyed. There were 2 big groups of people inside and the open sign was still on....my husband and I had just left HEB from a busy day and still had to cook for the week..we'd figure we'd get coffee to help us through the rest of the night....I now know to pick Starbucks and pay the extra buck. I rarely give so few stars but here I am. Two mornings in a row I've stopped in. First morning their network was down so cash only. Not a big deal really but apparently it happens a lot. I don't know, find a new network admin? The barista was literally giving away product but since I had cash, I paid. So thanks for that. Slow service but since there was only one barista ... oh wait! One was hiding out in the back. What? Day two: very very very slow service with two baristas working. I paid electronically and hoping for excellent service tipped a buck. Very very very slow service and my drink was prepped with whipped cream though I said none. Quality of the product was good. Had different frozen drinks but feel I paid too much. Was looking for breakfast foods but seeing none in the case and nothing on the menu ordered a sandwich, which was really good (chipotle chicken). On day two I hear the barista call out "Breakfast croissants!" So why the hell is that not on the menu? Basically three stars for taking a perfectly awesome business opportunity and running it into the ground. Boo. read more

I really wanted to like this place, I really did. Sometimes the service is excellent and nice. Last time I was here, though, my barista asked how my day was. I said it was great, and he responded by making a "meh" noise and frowning. It was particularly deflating and left a bad taste in my mouth. Not long into my stay, I was having trouble with the WiFi. To his credit, the barista immediately did his best to help on my device, but in trying to reboot the device he managed to disable the WiFi completely. Look, that happens, it's unfortunate but I'm more impressed that you tried to help than I am concerned about internet. The problem is, the guy never even came back to make apologize, explain the situation, estimate when if ever it would be fixed, or even make eye contact again while I was in the shop. I don't want free stuff cuz you're having WiFi problems, I just want you to acknowledge that I exist and we were solving this problem instead of goofing off with your friends, who seem to all be staff using the shop as a private hang-out spot when they're off-duty. The espresso varies dramatically, likely as a function of who's working the espresso machine -- sometimes it's perfect and toasty, but on other days it's extremely nutty and you can tell the barista over-pulled the shot. Take a chance on it and I hope you like it, but I can't bring myself to go back here again read more

Coffee is average and often not hot enough because it's been sitting out too long, but cute atmosphere and it's LOCAL. They seemed miffed when I brought my own mug in. I ordered a triple Americano and they were like, "Whoa... is that a 16 or 20 oz mug?" Charge for the espresso shots, not the hot water. The cold brewed coffee was good though. read more
