It really is refreshing to enter a bike shop with such a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. I stopped in to get help completing a winter MTB build. Brian and Liz were super helpful and I ended up taking a wheel build class. Needless to say I had a great time and learned a lot. I totally recommend this shop.

I had this beautiful bike since 2013 and only had ridden jt a handful of times. I wasn't the most knowledgeable about bike repair and didn't want to deal with possiblity of someone trying to sell me more than I needed. 2020 rolls around and here is the pandemic that pretty much force people to be active before they lose their minds. I... am one of those people. I did a simple Yelp search for bike repairs in the area and Cog Cycles came up. I read the few reviews they had and headed over to Google. I mean, who doesnt use Google nowadays right? After lots of raving reviews about the Brian and Liz, I decided to take a chance on them! I gave them a call with no answer. That's okay, they may be busy. You can always leave your name and number with them. Weirdly, I was able to send a message to them through Google (seriously when was THIS a thing?!). They reached out to be by phone the next day and was available to take a look at my bike. I brought my bike in and Brian got to looking at it. He let me know what was wrong with my bike and asked what exactly did I want done. Do I just want to get it rideable or possibly do any custom work on it and so forth. Me? I just want it to get me to point A to point B without falling apart. Brian and Liz are absolutely friendly and helpful! Brian personally looked at my bike and made some suggestions on what should be change and what can still be kept on it. He is trying to SAVE you money. If there is some "life" on a part on the bike, Brian will let you know it doesnt have to be changed. He is a honest guy. He gives you a rough estimate when it will be done. I would suggest to call ahead of time and check to see if your bike is ready. They are a small shop and there's only two of them. Plus, the shop can only accommodate two other people at a time (during this pandemic of course.) I will definitely keep them as my regular for any bicycle needs! Check out my beauty.

Couldn't be more pleased with my interaction with Brian and Liz. I was in the market for a used bike that was versatile and fit my frame. Brian returned my phone call promptly and let me know what they could do. Open only since August they have definitely been keeping busy, CYCLING bikes in and out of the shop. (pun intended) Reading the reviews they already have the reputation for being a standup/honest shop, what more could you ask for. Went in to take a look and quickly found the bike for me, and Brian and Liz had it available THE NEXT DAY! SO PLEASED! great shop. Will definitely be back. Thanks

Keeps 'em in business, so you have a place to go and get back in the saddle.

Small shop, mostly rebuilds vintage bikes. My Trek was an "oldy but goody" to me. I needed minor repairs but hung around and got a new tire and wheel as well. Very helpful and didn't try to sell me anything. I had to talk him into getting me a very expensive tire. Definitely my new go-to bike shop.

Quick work and a fair price. He only works on bikes, doesn't sell new bikes so his main business is repair and reconstruction.

Brian and his wife took great care of me and turned my dusty old bike into a "Cinderella beauty" of a bike!

I have to give a shout out to the village cycle center…read more I've been getting increasingly into cycling over the last couple years as it seems to be the only kind of fitness that doesn't absolutely wreck my body. And at the end of last season I decided it was time to upgrade the fx3 (which I also got from VCC during covid). Now for the last 8 months I've been browsing trek.com, specialized.com, reddit, facebook marketplace, etc., trying to get a sense of what I want. I'll say considering most bike manufacturers have a large range of bikes for each model, the marketing folks then don't do a particularly great job explaining the differences. Enter VCC. I stopped by because I wanted to know if I was 56 or 58cm, with a plan to go buy used in the approximate $2000 range. My man Tim spent maybe 2-3 hours with me walking me through the entire range of trek road bikes, teaching me the differences among the gearsets, alloys used in the frames, the brakes, etc. It really made me confident in terms of zeroing in on the bike that would fit my needs. And it just so happened they had a prior year model at a price that was close-ish to my original budget (lol). Walked home with a new Domane SL5, and now something like 6 weeks and 500+ miles later I'm a pretty happy camper.

Gears are back to shifting smoothly and they cleaned it well so it is like new. They even added new tape to the handlebars. Very happy with the service and will continue coming back! Once they previously helped me install some pedals I bought there for free. Just above and beyond what you get at other local bike shops I've been to sometimes.

In response to the (mostly) positive reviews to this place, I trusted them to provide quality…read moreservice. My rating is due to bike service issues, not personnel. The workers were what you'd expect as far as being nice - but the mechanics are amateur at best. After my first disappointment with their routine "maintenance service", I wanted to give them another shot with my brakes. After all, I yearn to have a good relationship with a local bike shop. And sadly, it's a bigger disappointment than my first visit. I asked for them to bleed both brakes. I received a call saying they're "fine" and suggested NOT bleeding brakes; but the pads and rotors were caked in oil and other residue (I cleaned them both 3 days ago). But I figured you gotta trust the pros, right? Wrong. I figured they'd replace the pads, clean the rotors and call it a day. After all, I hadn't sanded the pads this past time and they are getting old (10 months). Nope, just VERY poorly sanded the existing brake pads, cleaned the rotor below my normal standard and was charged nearly $50. For that. To sand 4 little brake pads and (presumably) apply some rubbing alcohol to the rotors. $50. Look at the picture of the brake pads after they serviced them. Lmao. I could have done that for $2 at home since all I need is a little more rough sand paper. Ha. And no, it didn't help my brakes at all. They produced very little friction, we're extremely loud and there was even a clicking noise from my drivetrain on my ride home I haven't even diagnosed yet. I just had to write this review. Ha. Should have just told them to screw off and bleed the damn brakes. To me, it's simple. This is a classic big city bike shop that is money hungry. $50 for that is LAUGHABLE. I could take this to my hometown bike shop and for that money they'd do a bleed, drivetrain clean, fork pressurization, frame clean, etc. And after all that, I still need my brakes bled. They didn't do it. Ha. EDIT: Attached is the video of my new wheel sound! I think it's just the dork disk, but still.
