The service manager,George, does not value customer service. I'm onl my 2nd BMW. My first was an X6 that was in for service twice in the first month. Service dept kept lying to me until after a full month of them having my car, I did not want it back and ordered a new one. Now I have an X7. I paid $4400 in January for a repair to my sunroof. They didn't repair it fully and now the it does not open. George said it needed a cassette and only the roller was replaced. Now, as a matter of good will, he said he would split the difference with me and it would cost another $1200 for my half. They did not want the car for a trade-in at all. After doing research we found out that X drives can develop issues to the point they need to be replaced. The transfer case is filled with oil that, per BMW, should last the lifetime of the car.. Additionally there is a Class-Action lawsuit against BMW for not being proactive and fixing the transfer case issues. Coggin BMW, knowing these X drives have issues, never even suggested to us that we should change the oil to hopefully prevent an issue. However, many BMW owners have found the oil should be changed in hopes of preventing degradation of the transfer case components We contacted BMW Corporate in NJ to make them aware of our issue and hopefully get some help (Goodwill") in paying for a new transfer case, given the car was just barely out of warranty and we were longtime BMW owners. Corporate's response was "You should have bought an extended warranty". This is clearly not how you should be treating customers, let alone loyal longtime BMW owners. Absolute lack of competence and professionalism. I pay premium bucks at a luxury dealership because I expect a premium outcome. Instead, I got ripped off, misdiagnosed, and ignored. I brought my car in three separate times because of a coolant leak, and their service department completely failed to locate the actual issue. First, they talked me into replacing a perfectly fine coolant expansion tank. The moment I picked up the car, the engine coolant light came back on. I took it back a second time. This time, they claimed it was just a faulty coolant cap. I had the car back for exactly ONE day before the light came on yet again. When I brought it back for the third time, I was forced to wait two full days just to hear back from them. Their brilliant new "diagnostic" was that I now needed a heat exchanger hose and two other coolant hoses--a labor-heavy job they quoted at $3,000 to $4,000. Trusting my gut, I took my vehicle to an independent shop for a second opinion. They found the real leak within one single day and fixed it perfectly for $700. This dealership was actively trying to force me into paying thousands of dollars for completely unnecessary work that wouldn't have even solved the problem. If I had listened to them, I would still have a coolant light on and be out $4,000. Avoid this service department at all costs. They do not know how to diagnose the vehicles they sell, and they care more about padding their invoices than fixing your car. read more

I felt deceived when I went in for the $119 oil change special they offered. I was immediately upsold on their $249 - 3 year contract which is what I was told was the total. However, when the contract was presented to me to sign, the (Very fine print) acknowledged additional fees such as "shop fees" which adds "upto 10% of the contract cost". When I questioned it, Anthony (my service advisor) said it was an additional cost then when he called his manager over to further explain the contract cost, he said I would NOT be charged the "shop fees". However when both Anthony and myself pointed out that it was on the contract, he was trying to back peddle and between the 2 of them, they could not explain clearly what I would be charged for. Furthermore, the $119 "special" also adds shop fees and tax so it's more like $140 when all is said and done! Very deceitful practices. read more

Terrible service process -I called several times trying to set up valet pick and drop off, which I used in the past and it worked nicely.. This round they never showed up to pick the car up, even after several attempts.. The AI that they now use is annoying and ineffective-they do not return calls and you cannot get any anwsers when you do speak to someone there. I eventually had to drop the car off to get it serviced, could not get an appointment. I called 3 days in a row to find out what the repair status was-complete? In process?.. Never received a call back after serveral people I spoke to there said they would call me back with a status update. In despiration, I even called sales and parts for assistance, and yes, they did not pick up or call back either. When I showed up (yes took an uber 3 days later) the entire service department looked like they were in disaray, no one in charge and several employees were standing around chatting but not working. Someone could have called back after 3 days. Really surpirised as I have had great experiences here over the last 7 years. The people are nice, just disorganized with no sense of urgency as I see it. The service writer who had my vechile said he was unsure of the status and would have to check on it. After sitting there for 45 minutes, I went outside to find my car under a tree, collecting leaves and sap, dirty and to my surprise, the car was serviced -oil change and break fluid. I took the car and left..3 hours later I received a text saying i owe a balance to pay, which I will but will not return to this dealership, very fustrated and annoyed at the level of apathy and disconcern. Funny note was the uber driver who took me there said he has heard this from several customers who have now transfered to West palm BMW as they are more attentative. So I've been a loyal BMW owner for many years now. So happy about that because it truly is an ultimate driving machine. I like this dealer because they're fairly close to my house and generally I have a really great experience here. I took my car for a birthday wash recently, which was unfortunately rather disappointing. It's more like a wipe down. As I was cleaning my car the next morning to Well fill in the deficits from my car wash the night before or the day before, I noticed my car was damaged. This birthday wash turned out to cost me over $260 in parts for the damage that kinda sure happened here at the dealer. I guess all I can say is I'll be sure to check my car after picking it up to ensure it's in the same condition I left it as. Very disappointing folks I must say and quite honestly if you're not gonna make the birthday wash special... Get rid of it. It is extremely disappointing. Especially the car gets damaged along the way. Feeling a little disappointed, but I still love my car. And I love BMW. read more

Very happy to have come in to see and test drive the BMW X 5 2021 SUV. Dennis our Sales Specialist is magnificent. No preasure, my husband researched lots of info of different types of makers. One common problem people are experiencing is having to wait 6-7 mths for many vehicles due to the factories not being able to get the electronic components such has computerized circuits etc... those parts are mostly manufactured abroad. Many factories are extremely lacking the employees we had in the past. Can't say for all the BMWs. But, mine was built/assembled in South Carolina, USA of course the engine is German made. These vehicles have so much technology put into them. Some of these practically take over the driving of the vehicle with assisted driver modes. Has for me, I'm old school and this scares me to death:-() I'm not ready for auto pilot in a vehicle unless it flys. The selection here at Coggin is as of today a very good one. In September it's always been the best time for me to go vehicle shopping for the current year. Most of you may know the coming New Year inventory would be arriving. Another interesting thing I was informed (Not by anyone at this location) is Dealerships are charged by an authorizing entity Fees for not moving for example the 2021 vehicles out on their lot. Obviously, causing them $ loss everyday. As for Cogin BMW. To sum it up their service is fantastic. My husband wanted to build one on line. Now, the only detail I could have put to good use was the massage feature on the front seats. Since, an accident I'm still recovering from sitting on the passenger side. He mentioned as long as you do not let them get to the point of over wearing, there are no worries of a Blow-Out on the Hwy or road. ***One thing, they do not last the 40k miles. The life is aprox 25k. In my case I'm ok with this. I'd prefer not dealing with the proverbial flat tire. Specially, at high speeds. They are pricey to replace. I dropped off my vehicle 2 days ago to check out a very specific issue. Yesterday, I received a video of a supposed inspection in which the technician spoke quickly and unclearly about recommendations some of which services had already been performed at another dealership. There was even a recommendation for an oil change which had been done just one week ago and for which a sticker was on the windshield. I called to speak with the service advisor and was told that he was very busy. I left a message that the video was useless given the noise in the background and that the technician did not speak clearly. I requested a breakdown of recommendations and cost for consideration. I later texted the same information. I was told by the person taking the call that the service advisor will call me. That was from yesterday morning before 10:00 am. I still have not received a call at almost 10:00 am today. Given the poor service and communication, I refuse to spend my money there. I will be picking up the vehicle. read more

Usual story-out of town, problem with car. Our 428i convertible started shaking and then just stopped approximately 1300 miles from home. I checked to see where the nearest BMW dealer was and found Coggins about 20 miles from where I was. On the phone, they helped me get moving again suggesting a reset may solve the issue but strongly encouraged I bring the car in the next day so they could investigate further. Some repairs were necessary and I was flabbergasted when they offered me a loaner while they overnighted parts and completed the repair. I didn't buy the car there and they had no allegiance to me other than I own a BMW. I thought I'd be dealing with Uber. Fast forward-parts replaced, repair completed on time and car hand washed and interior cleaned. (My own dealer only machine washes and doesn't touch the interior). Very appreciative of the service department and their quick response to an out of town "non-customer". Great dealer! read more

I have never dealt with Coggins before. The only reason I contacted them was due to a clerical error on CarFax that indicated I had brought my car to them for service. It caused a mileage discrepancy on my report. I contacted them and was put in touch with Rick the Service Director. It was a confusing situation, but he looked into it and promised to call me back. He called me back promptly, acknowledged that there was an error and offered to reach out to CarFax and get the entry removed. Extremely pleased with the polite and quick response, despite the fact that I am not a customer and living on the other side of the country, will probably never be. Traveled 2 hours to purchase a used vehicle we found on-line. They guaranteed the pricing and our financing was in place. Arrived to find the vehicle was sold one hour before we arrived. So they do not "Guarantee" Internet pricing or BUYING. Ironically, the vehicle was incorrectly priced and should have been listed for $2,000 more than their "Guaranteed" Internet pricing. The GM has not returned my calls, but the vehicle has been reposted for the higher price on their website as well as third party sites!!!
