We've come here a few times over the years, and the service is always good. They have a great beer selection with over 30 taps. It's also nice that you can bring food and enjoy the space. I really enjoy this location. Lots of beers I don't usually find at other locations in San Diego county. They have a friendly staff that is knowledgeable and helps you find what you like. There are plenty of food options you can bring in with you since they don't have a kitchen. Great place to hangout with friends too. For a great beer experience, this is the place. read more

I'm the first to admit....change is hard! When Mother Earth closed, I mourned. Truly. I always loved their Vista location (so many fond memories with friends and my better half). My go to was Cali Creamin', especially when it was on nitro. Swoon. Well, Barrel & Stave is there now. Same setup, local restaurants still deliver there. Friendly beertenders. So, why 4 stars? I think it's really great they carry a lot of NorCal beers. I know my better half enjoyed chatting about all the breweries he's visited...but when I'm along hop highway, I want to support local breweries. They had a few big local names on tap, but wouldn't it be great if they carried some of the smaller breweries? It would! 4 stars for now :) read more

I sampled a stout, but it wasn't as good as others I've had. You can have a large group of friends join you and the prices for drinks were reasonable. My husband and I walk past this place all the time and decided to try it out last night. They had a live band which was great, live music is always a bonus (especially on a Saturday!) Cam was our bartending and she was AMAZING. She really gave us a great first experience, super attentive and helped us choose some good beers. They have an awesome beer selection here. I always have a good time here. I like being able to sit outside at the patio and enjoy a cold beer from Pour House and tacos from Los Reyes. Both Natasha's are freaking awesome. Both are welcoming and attentive. I like the fact that animals are welcome here ( I own a kitten and a puppy ). Luke the dog is so well trained and the friendliest. The little Pug puppy is also a sweetheart. This is the place to hangout and enjoy the live bands playing music. They also have virtual golf. Good place. Go check it out. read more

We were around the area last week since we were on a waiting list for Belching Beaver and we were finding some places to stop by and found this place. Let's just say I'm super glad that I found this place! This used to be where Mother Earth was but I actually love the vibe and drinks better now. I was honestly surprised and grateful that they were able to open during these pandemic times. Everything was sanitized well and everyone was social distancing and respecting each other by wearing masks if they were not drinking at all. Everyone working there was super friendly too! I was surprised they got many beer tap collections from Orange County AND up in the Northern California area that this place definitely got me wanting to visit again! read more

Location: Right in the heart of downtown Vista, this is a much welcome addition to this little town. There is an outdoor patio in front so you can people watch as you enjoy a drink. Additionally, URBN is right across the street and I still see them hand delivering pizza to happy beer patrons. The interior is dark and fairly minimal, but in a cool brewery way (as opposed to a Scandinavian vibe). There is also what looks like a game room on the side, it didn't seem to be open when I was there so maybe it is for private parties? Overall, this is a large location so it is great for a single or a large party. It's nice to have a spot you can bring the whole crew. On Tap Menu: The on top menu has about 40 taps at any given time. Some local breweries for now. I would love to see more of the smaller local breweries being added to the fold and take advantage of being on the Hop Highway. There is a really good variety (and some wine for our grape loving friends). The Cooler: There is a fridge full of various cans of delicious beer and some hard seltzers which can be taken to go or enjoyed on site. This is a huge benefit in my humble opinion. Prices & Staff: Prices are about what you'd expect for the area. Staff was friendly and quick to provide service. Overall: I am really happy to see another beer lovers spot open up in this area. They have maintained the relaxed and tidy vibe that the area has cultivated over the years. Overall, I think it is a great local spot and would definitely go again. Horrible service, I don't know if it was the way I looked or what possibly caused the bartenders to completely ignore me when I sat at the bar. Eye contact was made and it was fairly obvious I was there to quench my thirst but I was just ignored. Some time later a gentleman with a dog came in and he was promptly greeted and attended when he stood near me but still no greeting or drink for me. Now I understand the world is short staffed.... But I assure you this was not the case. This was just a case of poor service. I guess maybe next time I should bring a dog? read more

I have been coming here since it was the old Mother Earth brewing place. The beers here are phenomenal with a huge list. Lots of IPAs and then some yummy seltzers for the ladies. They have live music on different nights. One of my fav bands to see here is called Grooveline, if you have seen them before give them a Google. Across the street they have Urbn Pizza which you can have delivered to the Brew house. There is also a new Handsans ice cream place across the way. I remember coming to this place back in the Mother Earth days and was sad to see they are no longer here. That being said, I'm happy to say that Barrel & Stave has taken their place, and greatly improved the place! They have digital menu boards (thank you) with clearly written names of all of the craft brews they have on draft. I imagine this list probably changes periodically but honestly it shouldn't matter much as they have a wide variety of strong to weak, hoppy to sweet, pricey to cheap choices...whatever floats your boat! They have two restrooms (unisex) with locks and hand dryers. They also have beer & wine to go in a large, really cool & modern refrigerator right near the entrance. While we were there, a large group was celebrating (something) in a private room adjacent to the tap room, so it's nice to see they do support hosting events if you're looking for this. Overall nice joint, really clean and although they don't really offer food (outside of chips or cookies), URBN Pizza is literally across the street and they will even deliver the pizza right to you.
