He was knowledgeable on everything from how wood is grown, cut, and made into all sorts of items. He and his colleague were very generous with their time and knowledge. His workshop has plenty of stock and more than enough tools for the student. We came home with nice-looking, useable boards and gained a better appreciation of what goes into these hand-crafted works of art. If you're curious about woodworking and would like to get some great hands on experience I'd recommend taking one of his classes!

I would not recommend the medical assistant program. The admin. class was listed as 4 nights/week…read morein-class instruction and ended up being exclusively on-line with only one Zoom call for an hour per week. The clinical class, also advertised as 4 nights/week for lots of hands on experience, ended up being 3 nights for 1.5-2 hours each. In addition, the class ended a week early even though the class had little time for students to get comfortable with injections and venipuncture. The externship program lacks school support from staff. There is no guarantee of placement, often a long delay between graduation and the externship, and when the career & externship advisor is asked a direct question about anything, her only reply is "to consult the website." The new principal was once quoted as saying "you get what you pay for" when questioned about the shortened hands-on class time. It doesn't seem the staff at EAS is truly interested in helping students achieve a better education and career.

She goes above and beyond…read more I felt as though I was in a kind of cool spiritual session every time we met for art lessons. She believes in the spiritual aspect of art along with everything else that goes with your "typical" art lessons. I learned lots about colors, values, along with some technical "stuff" that I did not know about. I'm a self-taught artist, always drew using ink, so everything I drew was in black and white. Wendy introduced me to colors one day, by the use of watercolors. At first, I was hesitant, but she simply put the paints and brushes next to me, showed me some brush techniques, and of course shared her knowledge and expertise, and allowed me to explore more or less on my own. And wow! A whole new world of art, and COLOR came flooding into my little black and white world! I still love my ink, but watercolors are right up there. No matter where you are along your journey in art, Wendy is a fantastic teacher/mentor. I promise you, you will learn something.

Review - I planned this for my birthday and I had such a fun time. Davina really walks you through the steps in an easy to understand way and shows you how to do each step on her own canvas. It was totally fun and doable for my friends who are not generally crafting people! You walk in and the employee will give you a run down on the process. If you want to take your ceramic home the same day, you can use acrylic paint, if you don't mind waiting you can choose to glaze it and there is a $5 firing fee. We chose to do glaze and wait a 1-2 weeks and they texted us when it was ready. (Only took a week) In terms of inventory, they have cute Knick knack ceramics you can make or kitchenware like plates, bowls, coasters, etc. I also saw people painting canvases so you really do have a lot of options if you're looking for a fun craft day. Pro tip: do multiple layers if you're gonna do glaze. I'd recommend at least 3, but 4 or 5 if you have the time.

There are no bathrooms and you would need to walk over to use Target's. Mckenna was working the cafe when we came in. She's only one person but quite knowledgeable about the two paints offered - acrylic and glaze. Acrylic paint can be taken home same day. They apply a clear coat finishing spray and it will dry same day but may take a few hours. Anything with this paint would not be safe to eat/drink on if you get a plate/cup. Glaze will need 3 layers and would be an additional week to 2. When you paint it, it will look a bit chalkier but with the glaze, will turn shiny. There is a $5 firing fee. I believe this is okay to eat or drink after they glaze it. You could first choose which piece you want to paint, could be a cup/plate/dish or a figure. Pricing fluctuates depending on inventory. Ceramic pieces prices range from $15.99 to $50.00. They also offer canvas painting which prices range from $15.00 to $23.00. It's perfect to just paint and let your creative side come out. We enjoyed our time here painting. We also saw a few others come in either for date time or family time. One family was clever in that they had several kids, so they had each kid paint a teacup. If you don't finish or want to come back another time, you can always leave your piece with them and return to continue painting. You will need to pay though so they have your number on file to contact you (if you are getting it glazed) and also for you to resume your painting piece there. My girlfriend who was visiting, enjoyed our time here as we caught up talking and chatting while painting our shells. She had to do hers acrylic as she had to fly back to NY the next day. We ended up staying close to closing hours, so Mckenna helped do a quick spray - put it in a box for it to dry (due to the fumes) and let her take a picture of the spray to give it another layer when she went back. I did mine with glaze and got a text message it was ready a week and two days that it was ready for pick up. Very satisfied with our visit here and may come again.
