Initial quote was for $510 to retrofit a lid and replace the two older check valve's. This price is with me purchasing both the lid and check valves ($110). So I was expecting to spend approximately $620 to get this job done. The first appointment they replaced the check valves and told me the lid I bought (I bought two different sized lids) wouldn't work. They told my wife we needed a 19 inch lid. Charged $244 for that visit and work. I bought a new lid and called them out again. The lid also doesn't work and my wife tells them to just install it, which I acknowledge she shouldn't have done. There was also a copper line that was plumbed in so out of plumb I'm actually surprised it was left like that. Lastly I was charged an additional $466 for this second visit. So I'm out of pocket approximately $830 (including the $110 I spent on parts) for a job I believe was poorly done. I let the point of contact know I wasn't happy with the work done and he said he stands by their work.

The project went very smoothly given the age of our house and a few obstacles that presented themselves along the way. Their whole staff was very patient as I asked an enormous amount of questions. The "call center" claimed they had nobody else we could talk to and no solution for us - just that our appointment slot was moved to 1p-3p today even though nobody communicated that with us. It is now 3pm and no technician has arrived and the "call center" gave us no solution. The "call center" claims they have no manager or anyone to escalate the issue to even though this is an emergency. Before I had the work completed, I got a quote for the plumbing job and was told it would be $115 an hour. So, I went ahead and scheduled the service. It took 30 minutes to complete the job, so imagine my surprise when I get an invoice for $190!!!! That math doesn't quite add up. I called to get clarification and they basically told me that the plumbers "set their own rates." So what good is getting a quote at all??? Basically, they just charge what they want. They typically come either same day or next day, with absolutely no additional emergency service charge. The focus is on taking the appropriate time to properly diagnose your plumbing issue, then providing you with the right fix. Then, to top it all off, their charges are very fair and reasonable. Unlike many other services, there is NO attempt to overcharge. In fact, they are probably undercharging as any other plumbing service would charge much more for the exact same service, some probably two to three times as much. So, do yourself a favor, if you have a plumbing problem to fix, give them a call. They will come out fairly promptly, give you the exact fix you need, and charge you a very reasonable price. Avoid the other competition that loves to price gouge customers.

It took a while and a lot of effort to reach the right person but Mike Williams made things right.
