Let me first start by saying I've been a number of times to Cold Break. We like the cool old building, and the beer isn't that bad at all. The food is solid. The French fries are the proper double cooked type. We usually order the savage fries ( pulled pork, sauces and jalapeños). It's great. My only complaint was the music is no good. A couple times we left after a beer the music was that bad. read more

My family and I (5 of us) had decided to try Cold Break Brewing while visiting St. Catharines. This restaurant was a disappointment, and I would never return. The restaurant screwed up my meal twice and we waited a VERY LONG time for our food to arrive because the chef had screwed up what I had ordered. When the food finally arrived, my meal was not what I had ordered - screwing up my meal the second time. Though my meal was removed from my bill and the restaurant asked if I wanted something else, it did not make a difference because the damage had been done. I was not interested in another meal because we all had waited so long for our food to arrive. To add, the restaurant was not that busy. I was so upset as to how things transpired that sadly the waitress did not receive a generous tip from me. Since it is a brewery, it is a great place for beer but I would just leave it to that. If you can, choose another restaurant if you want a good meal. read more

We always come to Cold Break Brewing when we are in town. Simply put, this is the best brewery, with the best food, and even better service! They have a great indoor and outdoor venue and it is really a fun place to hang out with friends and family. My favorite food item is the Double Deuce Burger! It is to die for. We had a great time at Cold Break Brewery! I came on a Friday night with a group of 8 for my sister's bachelorette dinner. She's more of a beer fan than a winery fan, so we decided to visit some local breweries and have some food at each. I had called ahead and spoken to a few different staff members - I wasn't able to book a reservation during these post-COVID times, but they were super helpful in letting me know the best time to arrive with a group that size. When I called ahead just to make sure they weren't busy, they assured us we'd be fine. When we got there, we found they were excited to welcome us and they took great care of us. I can't keep track of what drinks everyone ordered, but I had the Barrel Aged Kentucky red ale and it was great! 10/10 would drink again. A few girls got flights, and others drank a combination of their raspberry sour and lemon-lime seltzer, recommended by one of the waitresses. I got the Honey Butter Hot Fried Chicken thighs with fries...damn. It was SO good. The others tried a variety of food and drinks - the fish tacos, the pretzels, another 2 orders of Honey Butter Chicken, and the savage fries, to name a few-and everyone was extremely happy with their choices. Our waiter, "Spinner", was also great, taking one for the team and posing with a paper mask of my sister's fiance's face for a picture. What a champ. During COVID times, it's always good to note that there was tons of space - this is a huge venue. There were high ceilings, plenty of space to distance, and outdoor seating available. I also appreciated the incredibly clean gender neutral washrooms! Overall, my sister had a wonderful time and loved Cold Break - the next day, she kept saying how cool it was and how she'll need to take her fiance there because he'd love it. Nice hummus and lentil soup, probably the best I had in any breweries with food offers. Hummus: 5/5, lentil soup 5/5, platter 3.5/5. We have two beer flights, one is 3 IPA and another with sour, saison, barrel aged Kentucky, and Baltic porter. Sour is the best we tried. The IPA is good, just not my type. read more
