Lots of treat options for your furry friend
Alexia K.

Great place - you can bring your dogs (or cats) as long as They're on a leash. They have an abundance of treats, food, toys, and literally anything else you could need for your fur babies. Cats, dogs, birds, mice, chinchillas... whatever you've got. They have stuff for it. And they're cheaper than the other pet place.. which I will leave unnamed.. Definitely stop by and take a look though!

$180 for a kennel that costs $102 at petco. Absolutely ridiculous, taking advantage of their customers like that

Great selection! And very competitive prices to the Petco across the street, I would say that most prices here are lower.

What a treat!! Definite must stop if you own animals! Or even if you're just visiting Alaska! Stop…read morein here! They have a lot of unique and fun Alaska Made products, like Birch Syrup, rhubarb syrup, coffee beans, spices, Meats from Delta Meat & Sausage, fresh eggs from LOCAL farmers, locally made soaps and lotions, furs, and lots of other neat items if you're visiting from out of town! If you live here and own animals, they have a large assortment of specialty dog food, dog supplies,(toys, leashes, etc) cat supplies and food, Bird supplies, Bee Keeping supplies, chicken farm supplies, (they have baby chicks too for sale) Horse supplies and farm& animal type items. The prices are pretty reasonable for most items. There is quite a bit to look at, and during my visit the staff is quite smiley and welcoming. You can even bring your doggie inside to pick out a favorite treat. Oh they have lots of dog treats too! In bulk! I had a fun time checking this place out, and bought a few items. This place is neat, and it is a place where local Alaskans can sell some of their items. DEFINITELY worth popping in! You'll most likely find what you're looking for, and feel great about supporting a locally owned business and their loca partners!

I have also purchased some locally produced human food as well as some bulk seed for landscaping. The staff is knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. At various times, they've helped me fit a fleece coat to my high-energy dog, helped me choose a good pellet food for a new pet rabbit, and find the right grass seed for our climate. Good all-around feed store.

I like the "Petco" store, except for one particular thing which I will get to in a moment. I have…read moretaken my male Siberian Husky (named "Skye") to this store for the Sunday pet clinic where he was given his full set of shots and he had a microchip inserted beneath his skin for future identification if/as needed. Skye has also been there more than once for their basic dog grooming service. However the "one particular thing" that bothers me about this store is their checkout service. The store has about 3 cash registers available to use for checkout, but 99% of the time there is only one checkout lane open with a line of 6-10 people waiting to pay for their goods. I did mention to the single cash register operator (one time when checking out) that the store should open another 1 or 2 registers to reduce the waiting period. The person responded saying that they would do that if they had a sufficient number of store employees available to operate even one more cash register checkout lane. I understand that a number of businesses have had to reduce their hours, or close entirely for a day, because they could not find a sufficient number of people willing to work at that business. However, when one has to stand in line for (what seems like) 10-15 minutes to pay for a single dog chew toy, it still is very bothersome (at least to me). There is another "pet store" in town that goes by the name of "Cold Spot Feeds, Inc." (locally known just as "Cold Spot"). On more than one occasion, when shopping for my Husky, I have thought about that long wait in the checkout line at the "Petco" store, and then decided to do my shopping at "Cold Spot." The "Cold Spot" store has a single, but very efficient and large, "Checkout Desk" (or "Checkout Kiosk") with multiple people waiting to answer customer questions, assist customers with advice or with finding in-store products, and, also, to quickly checkout each customer. I find that, even if an item costs a bit more at "Cold Spot," I am willing to pay that "extra amount" in order to shop at a store that provides me with an efficient (and quick) checkout experience.

Friendly staff in a big box store. Always helpful, knowledgeable and respectful. If you have a…read morequestion that they can't answer at the time they'll find the answer and contact you directly to follow up.

We were told to watch the website for availability of this animal and never even got a courtesy call to warn he would be put down. We had fostered the dog and then sent him to AK to a rescue who adopted him out. The person who adopted him did not keep him and gave him away and then he ended up here. We inquired about getting him back as his chip was still registered to us. They ignored our plea and also that of apparently multiple rescue organizations. Why would they still put him down when so many people were interested? They never even listed him. If you are in doubt this place is without a doubt a "kill shelter".

Everyday I thought about that cat. A week passed and I finally called them nervous because he wasn't on the adoptable or found list but the cat they found the day after they found him was. He was intact so that means he'd need to recover after and well when I asked about him the lady wasn't able to recall him and then said I think he got adopted about. There's no garentees in that...I just don't know if they're lying or not. Plus they do not seem to be able to keep a well track on their animal records.
