placed an order for a cake for my Aunts Birthday with customizations on 1/16/25. The ordered was placed via ColdStones Website, and delivery option chosen. Per Coldstone's ordering options online, the coffee house crunch cake size 8" large was ordered with request of toasted almonds and Carmel to be added in the designated space where it clearly stated any customizations would result in charge adjustments (which is fine). I ordered the cake and had not received any calls from the store regarding my order or for need to clarify. I received the cake today, 1/22/25 and this is the presentation of the cake initially out of bag/package. No mix ins what so ever (not even the basic toffee that it was supposed to have) were in the cake, it was solid coffee ice cream and chocolate cake. No add ins requested were in there either and the cake was malformed and water was in the plastic/bottom platter and coming from parts of the cake. Pictures are attached. I'm beyond disgusted with the customer service as I called your store right after receiving the cake at my family's house for my aunts birthday and the girl I spoke to on the phone laughed about the situation in between trying to sarcastically apologize and put the phone away from her to compose herself in between and then ended the call.. I've always got my orders for my families birthdays from the Allen park location because of the great service but I will never do that again. (Not that any of you care clearly) which is really what's sad. You should care. You should care what kind of product you're selling and the customer service. What if you were ordering a cake for your Mom? Your Aunt? Your Dad? I think you'd want a nice cake that looked and tasted good from the place you/they enjoy. You'd be upset if your family had this experience. There's nothing funny about it. It's disheartening. There's nothing funny about ordering and paying for a product and getting terrible quality and bringing it to a stores attention. I don't expect anything from you at this point. But I hope you don't treat others as poorly as you treated me, and by extension my family today. Do Better. read more

I have been coming here for a long time well over 10 years. Whenever they first opened, I will say it's not as good as it used to be. It's okay I still come here sometimes I just wished the ice cream taste better. I get the cookie dough'cha want some this includes chocolate chips, cookie, chocolate syrup and caramel syrup with French vanilla ice cream - when they changed the type of chocolate chips that goes inside this flavor. I started customizing I put a brownie instead of chocolate chips, because the chocolate chips are way to hard, you could crack a tooth eating that. The ambiance is typically always clean, I have came in and it wasn't so presentable. I think I have only one bad experience here all the rest of my experiences have been great and the staff have been nice. So what i think happened, you couldn't find my 40 dollar cake, grabbed a pre made one, frosted it real fast, and passed it off as the one that should've been made a day ago. Been a costumer of Cold Stone for many years, but tonight's experience doesn't even deserve one star. First of all it took at least 20 min to serve the 4 customers in front of me and there were at least 6 workers there, but the shock was when I opened my ice cream box at home. My Coffee Lover didn't look anything like it was supposed to (and I had many of them before) and it was barely a half of box. Also doesn't taste nothing like Coffee Lovers. Can barely find and caramel in it. I would've drove back there but I leave 25 min away and they might be closed already. Very disappointed. My family Saturday ice cream time was ruined. read more

We come up here a few times a month to treat our kids (and sometimes just ourselves) for some delicious ice cream. It is always good and the service is friendly. Today, I'm updating my review because I special ordered a cake. Usuall, if I need a cake I just pop in and grab one from the freezer. However, my daughter requested a Harry Potter cake. We've been crazy busy lately and I didn't have time to go to a bakery. Cold Stone had a few to choose from and I was helped by Christina. She was wonderful and I was able to pay over the phone. I swear this place is Hit or Miss depending on the day the week the month and the time. Had some chocolate Cravings the other day and decided to hit Starbucks and Cold Stone all in one go. No the girl working seem to be a little flustered and overwhelmed but she was polite. She did not seem to remember what went into each ice cream combination but she kept checking to make sure she made it correctly. For reference I love the mud pie Mojo which is made with coffee ice cream peanut butter Oreos and almonds. She only put a little bit of peanut butter in there but she put a little bit more when I asked her for extra. She did a good job of selling to a bigger size, and check-out was quick and painless. Whenever I feel like going into a sugar-and-lactose induced coma, Cold Stone is my ice cream of choice. This is my go-to Cold Stone, mainly because the one in Dearborn closed down a while ago. The employees are usually good about greeting you as you walk in, and thank God they stopped singing when you give them tips. They're very big on upselling here. If you just want a small, they'll remind you a medium is only .30 more! But we all know you don't need a medium... so don't fall for it. Sometimes the employees can be a little hasty when you're trying to look over the menu, so my advice is just let anyone behind you go first so you can concoct the tastiest creation without being rushed. My biggest gripe with this location is cleanliness. The floor is usually caked with ice cream, along with the tables and chairs. In addition, it seems there are always rogue napkins all over the floor just waiting for you to slip on them. They do have outdoor seating, so if you fancy a breeze with your ice cream, head outside and enjoy the sunshine. read more

Update: I did not get a reply from the Cold Stone website about why they were closed without notice. I did happen to find out from an employee when I went back to the store that they "put a note on the door for the last two weeks" about closing at 5pm on Halloween. I did not see a note on the door when I was there that night. I mentioned the website said they were open until 10pm. She claimed that as a franchise they won't allow them to change the hours on the website or something along those lines. She also mentioned that the 5 Guys next door and others in the strip might shut down early on Halloween next year as well due to low customer numbers that night. read more

Poor customer service. They can't answer simple questions about coupons they send out and even the assistant manager has no power to make any decisions. If you know exactly what you want and have absolutely no questions about anything else then maybe you can get by, other than that find another location where employees can make decisions without having to check with a "manager" that's never there. Too many instances of "well my manager is not here... Not asking them to move mountains but to honor a 10% off of an $11 purchase. Favorite location. Everyone here is always so friendly and helpful! The icecream is always good and their freezer is full of yummy stuff. I've had to pick up a last minute cake from here and the staff were really helpful! I always get the founders favorite (its literally the best thing ever). My husband really likes their cake "A cheesecake called desire" (its the raspberry cheesecake icecream cake), so he requested his icecream to be made like the cake and they did an amazing job! I've been coming to this location for over 10 years, back when they used to sing those songs whenever you tip them. The birthday cake remix is a staple and that's why I'll keep coming back even though the workers there suck now. Last week I went in on a Thursday night and literally waited in line for 45 minutes! There were only 10 people ahead of me, 5 years ago that line would've been cleared in 20 minutes tops. The workers are incredibly slow and get even slower when they see more customers walking in. I don't know how you wouldn't like Cold Stone (beyond the price). The Allen Park location is near what used to be Salsarita's. The staff is friendly and the ice cream reminds me of the others. The good thing is that they close late. It's a good spot for a quick ice cream run if you are in the area shopping at Lowe's, Meijer, or Target. The good park is they accept insert Cold Stone coupons and the upper management actually responds to emails. Definitely my go-to spot for Cold Stone since there aren't many in the area. read more

Good ice cream but I am exhausted with bad costumer service. I usually get emails with coupons of BOGO. Everytime I go in I have to explain that they usually give me 10% off of the 48 oz container. Unfortunately I have received mixed responses. One day its no problem and other days no we can't because...I am only the assistant manager or I am only the cashier when other times it has been the cashier or just an employee. Their excuse; they won't let us do that or I am only the cashier. I explain again the BOGO coupon is for $5.62 off. The 10% is only a $1.10 off. The perfect cap to an eventful evening for my fiance and I while watching the Hughes kids went a little something like this... Dinner at Salsarita's next door (kids eat free on Saturdays and Sundays there). We didn't really intend on getting ice cream, but as we were getting ready to leave we noticed a veritable squadron of police vehicles blocking several cars into the parking lot, one of which happened to be ours. Apparently somebody tried to steal a bunch of merchandise from the Game Stop a few doors down...well, looks like an ice cream shop is a good way to kill some time with a couple of kids! I generally prefer to get my sweet frozen treats from family-owned custard shops, but for a chain store, I find Cold Stone hard to beat. I honestly think they serve up some of the best ice-cream around, and as with all the other locations I've visited, this was no exception. The staff was very friendly and handled the somewhat nonsensical ordering of a hyperactive 2.5 year-old about as well as you could hope. The location is well kept, bright, and fun. Cold Stone in general is a bit on the pricey side for ice cream, but tends to be worth the splurge for the super creamy custom order ice cream. I seem to have quelled the craving for ice cream for a bit, but my search for a real shop, something to compete with the Italian gelaterias I ate in last summer, is still ongoing... read more

I have been going to this Cold Stone since it opened. Today I go there and it is fully staffed. However, you would not believe that it was given the wait time. The employees were doing every thing else, but serving the customers. I always get the same thing; cake batter ice cream with caramel on the bottom and a drizzle of caramel on the top. Today, the ice cream associate tells me I have to pay extra for the caramel on the top. I told her nevermind, because for all the years I've been going there I've never had to pay extra for a drizzle of caramel. She puts it on there anyway. When she rings me up, she tries to charge me almost $5 for the caramel saying that the amount of caramel she put on the bottom exceeded the normal portion. Who did she think was paying for that? The ice cream associate gets the manager and the manager was just as dizzy as she was. Instead of adjusting the bill and sending me on my way, the manager tells me that she was going to adjust the bill AND remake the order. WTH!! How stupid!! Needless to say I walked the hell out. Customer service is EVERYTHING. I'm done with this location. In the future I will go out of my way to patronize a different location. read more

They have a variety of ice cream cakes, cupcakes, or ice cream sandwiches to choose from. They also offer drinks, shakes, smoothies, and etc. Depending on what you get it can be expensive. I usually get one of their creations; vanilla ice cream with strawberries, graham crumbs, whip cream topping in a waffle bowl, and it's around 6 dollars.
