A scoop of chocolate and one of vanilla, Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal was all at the bottom and a drizzle of Nutella. The cookie was okay, might be better if was fresher and warm. Nutella makes any dessert better. The cookie bowl had no marshmallows in it, isn't that a key part of the s'mores? The chocolate cookies, chocolate ice cream and Nutella was a riff of the Hershey's chocolate and the Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal was acting as the graham cracker. The combination of frozen custard, fresh strawberries, lots of chocolate and crunchy pistachio knafeh is an interesting but tasty mix of flavors and textures. I was looking forward to this Yelp Experience and it did not disappoint! You have to enter through the back, but the entrance only allows for one vehicle at a time so I sat on Outer Drive for a minute or two waiting for the other vehicle to pull out. However, once parked and inside, it was a great experience. They have so many options when it comes to types of desserts that I was unsure of what to get. Great custard. Came here for a sweet treat post-Detroit pizza eating because at that point who cares about calorie consumption. It's a small space and there is no indoor seating, but they do have a little patio outside. Our daughter went for that disgustingly cloying "superman" ice cream, which is disgusting no matter where you eat, so let's just dismiss her assessment. One of us got a hard scoop cup with half The Detroit Grand Slam and half cookie dough. The DGS is SO good--one of us tried it at the baseball stadium the other day and loved the salty-sweet combination of flavors (it did seem exactly like the Guernsey version...?). Cookie dough was basic but fine. The other one of us got the Dubai chocolate cup with the ashta custard. The ashta was INCREDIBLE! The balance of flavors were on point, and were perfect with the chocolate and pistachio-kenafa mixture. A word on that: while that mixture was heavenly, we actually think there was too much of it. It was loaded on top and on the inside and it actually made the whole thing a bit too heavy. The woman at the register didn't seem uber interested in helping us get a lay of the land since it was our first time there, but both workers were friendly enough. Prices are high: almost $10 for the ashta cup! Still, it was really good and we can definitely see ourselves coming back again the next time that we're in town. Four stars. read more

I love that this place is close to my home. They have so many options that it can be difficult to decide and they always have people coming in and sitting in their outdoor, covered seating area. I have always gotten their hand dipped ice cream in a waffle cone, because they have such delicious flavors (16?) and my 'go to' lately is Birthday Cake. It has lots of goodies added in and it's what makes me want to go back again. I've had other delicious flavors like: Cinnamon Roll, Cookie Monster and a cheesecake one. The business is small but it has a big selection and the parking lot is always full with people parking on the street as well. It was within walking distance of my friend's house, so my friends and I (and their mom) walked the 5 minutes on over to Custard Co on a humid, almost-about-to-rain kind of summer evening. You could see Custard Co from a ways away given its all pink exterior and that it's located right on the corner intersection of two main roads - such a cute building! The line was out the door, but moved fast, so we were able to place our orders quickly! My eyes were bigger than my stomach and there were just sooo many great options on their menu that I opted to get two things! I got a cup of the rose custard, which is literally the lightest and fluffiest divine thing I've ever tried! As someone who finds it hard to finish a full cup of ice cream normally because it's so sweet and my sweet tooth has a limit, I really appreciated this and was able to finish the WHOLE THING! Then I also got the black cherry Vernors SHAKE because it was summertime and the black cherry Vernors (limited edition) was all around and one of my favorite drinks is the Boston Cooler (regular Vernors + vanilla ice cream). It was also so delicious and I was drinking it for the next several hours in small sips because I was so sugared out. But I loved everything Custard Co had to offer! Before my trip to Michigan, I'd gotten many recommendations to try this place out. I'm never one to turn down dessert, especially ice cream. The location is in a small freestanding building; customers order inside and have the option to sit at tables outside. The menu offers a ton of options from loaded ice cream creations, standard hard scoop, smoothies, mangonadas, and more. I went for the Loaded Ashta Cup: Ashta Custard injected with Rosewater, pistachio filling, rolled in pistachios. My first choice of dessert is always ice cream, so it can be hard to impress me. The Loaded Ashta Cone was exceptional; I could distinctly taste each flavor/ingredient. The rich filling combined perfectly with the soft ice cream textures. The rosewater wasn't overpowering, like it can be in many desserts. I made two separate visits to this place during my short trip. I could've branched out to try one of the many other delicious options, but I had to get the Loaded Ashta a second time. Overall, this place is a gem. This shop was awesome. They have many exotic treats that you can chose from. There is a small parking lot in the back and they have a small patio dining area where you can eat you frozen deliciousness. There is also some picnic tables in the grass area behind the parking lot as well. You must enter the shop through the patio and exit through the door leading to the street, as it has one way traffic. The shop is very clean and colorful. The staff there very friendly and helpful. They are very efficient and move the line along pretty quick. You can get a cup, a cone, a sweet bun, a cookie sandwich, shake, flurry or sundae with your favorite ice cream. I ordered sweet bun with birthday cake ice cream. It was good, but I was not a fan of the sweet bun. It was no glazed donut. The ice cream was awesome through, very fresh. There was a constant flow of customers while I was there. The line was out of the door. This is is very nice place to satisfy your sweet tooth. This place is a lot smaller than i thought it would be. Service is a bit slow but efficient. When we first walked in, it kind of smelled like dirty mop water and that was off putting. But our cashier was really nice and answered all our questions. We settled on the honeycomb and a medium twist cone. I personally find the custard to be too sweet but my companions really enjoyed it.
