Lately we had avoided it but decided to stop by to give it a shot again. They had 3 employees who were ready to take our orders, and even offered us a chance to sample the ice cream if needed but I already knew what I wanted. The portion was good but the ice cream wasn't mixed well. But overall not bad. I miss the Gothic chick that used to work here, she gave great service, mixed the ice cream well and gave good sized portions. Worst service ever. I went in just to get a scoop of ice cream. There was a family in front of me talking to the guy behind the counter about some cupcakes. Literally for like 20 minutes then another person came in and right after he was done with the family, he went to the man after me and said are you picking up didn't even acknowledge me at all. Its called oreo overload... overload it with oreos lol. i straight up got vanilla ice cream. barley any toppings.. First time at this location.. When people come into ice cream shops it's because they love & crave what theyre ordering. Dont short them out.. Went with my son to get him some ice cream and the female worker from the start seemed annoyed to help us. She don't greet us or even smiled. My son wanted a sugar cone and she gave us a scoop, no joke not bigger than 2 inches. I asked what had changed since usually a like it is a good size. The rude lady said I assumed it was for a kid since u asked for a sugar cone. Told her I was unaware they had kids size ice cream. She basically charged the same as a like it. Classic Goleta spot. It's as if time has stood still each time I come to this particular Cold Stone. It's been in this location for over two decades and is largely the same - all the way down to the old-school POS system which you hardly ever see in a chain establishment. I don't come often, but do enjoy the fresh waffle cone aroma as I walk by. Ironically, it's smack-dab between a gym and a weight loss clinic. Ha! Enter at your own risk! The ice cream creations have crept up in price and are not what I'd consider affordable, but they are good for a nice little treat from time to time. It's intriguing watching the staff mix the ingredients right before your eyes. I was in here a week ago and the lady behind the counter was friendly and quick. My creation was as good as ever, too. Oh. My. God. We came in on Thursday, March 25th in the evening, and these two nice guys took our order super fast and made our ice cream in literally 60 seconds (bless). I live for the Mud Pie Mojo because it's the best flavor and THESE GUYS MADE THE BEST MUD PIE MOJO I'VE EVER HAD :D Seriously every bite was mixed so perfectly and filled with crunch, peanut-buttery, oreo-cookieey, almond-y-chocolatey wonder that every 37 seconds I was eating it I said out loud, "HOLY F*CK this is literally the best mudpie mojo I've ever had!" Usually I have had good services here, but tonight changed my mind. The employees shut the door and put a sign in front of it 45 minutes before closing, but allowed in their friends to hang out and chat. I tried to wave them down to ask why they were closed but they refused to make eye contact. They sat in the corner furthest from the door on their phones hanging out with friends. The two kids working here right now at 8:50pm on 02/18/21 are so lazy and rude. They were rude to a customer who asked for his pick up order, they said they were too busy and they are not sure when they would get around to his order. Then one of them walks away and gets on his phone while the other takes my order. I had to return my daughters ice cream because it literally tasted like spoiled milk. I asked for a different kind and he rudely said well that's how it is and tried to walk away. But I insisted on another flavor and he sighed and walked away to make it without saying anything. He then walked back and just let it go on the table and walked away, I said "thanks!" And he just shook his head/rolled his eyes and didn't respond. Also their cookie dough ice cream doesn't have actual cookie dough bites? Just tasted like chocolate to me but I didn't mind for my ice cream I figured maybe it's just the way it's made there. I ordered a cake online and set a pick up time of 11am. I took off from work and showed up at 11:15 and the store was closed. There was a paper sign on the door stating that the hours had changed. This is problematic as I scheduled a pick up and took off work to get there. I got the cake home and alas, the order was wrong. The cake looked right from the outside, it had the right frosting and the right greeting, but the rest of the order was wrong. The ice cream flavour was wrong, the mix-ins were wrong, and the filling was wrong. This was a big disappointment because there was no way to tell until we cut into the cake. I ordered a Gotta Have It and they only put in one scoop of almonds and one fun sized Heath bar. That translates to: too much ice cream and not enough crunchy goodness. I use to live in Orange County and the few Cold Stones I went to left me with spoonfuls of crunch with every bite. But for this Cold Stone, I would like to have some texture with my ice cream! I never been to a cold stone where the employee put back ice cream after it hit the stone. Plus the store was dirty. I think the health department needs to be called. I have to say how utterly disgusted I was with these 2 ladies on the staff. They were so rude to me. Bitch I was not born yesterday and I am not paying $4.00 for some candy sprinkles.
