So much for the kids to do, giant Jenga, Connect Four, Checkers, hula hoops. Plenty of food options…read morefrom Pizza to health food. There are also a few Crafters selling their goods and it's a little early for vegetables so most of the Farms are selling flowers and plants until the Harvest. Oh and of course the puppies! Pet Connection is there every week with the most adorable puppies. Plenty of smiling faces friendly people. A welcome sight every Thursday.

The Main Street Marketplace in West Seneca is a new farmers market that opened in late spring 2014…read more Open each Thursday from 4 - 7:30 pm through the summer, it is situated on the "grassy knoll" directly on the West Seneca town property corner on Main and Union. In wet weather, it moves down to the parking lot in front of the Ice rink. Parking is available behind the Police/Town offices and Library area. I've been able to go a few times and have been fairly impressed for being a new market/area just getting its footing. They feature about 20-30 vendors and have carefully selected those of good quality without having 10 of the same type of product. Listed from their facebook page (which is updated weekly) the vendors are: Alpine Made, Biscotti for Everybotti, BRD's Forever Farm, Chateau Buffalo, Chow Chocolat, Donna's Pepper Jelly & Jam, Fernwood Enterprises, Gelato Gypsy, Great Harvest Bread Company, Hanzlian's Sausage & Deli, Hard Pressed Farm, Jackie's Kitchen Garden, JJ's Jams, Keeping Traditions, Kornerstone Coffee, Lilies of the Field, My Father's Fudge, Pet Connection Programs Inc., Plato Dale Farm, Susie Cuke's Pickle Company, Sweet Dream Maple Farm, The Pasta Peddler, Village Grove Bake Shop, Weiss Farm, William's Florist & Gift House. Food to eat right there is available from Dukes Donuts, House of Munch, Just Pizza, and DogEars Cafe. Most weeks, depending on weather, I have seen just about every vendor there. They feature a weekly charity/group and have some sort of entertainment from a brass small ensemble to guitar/singer duo for a couple hours of the market. Vendors are all friendly, offer generous samples, and have decent prices. While this is something you probably won't be able to do all of your weekly shopping at, it is a nicely accessible market for this area of the suburbs for some specialty purchases, fresh produce, or just a nice walk-around and snack. I like that they did not try to be too big, too fast and I look forward them continuing to grow here in West Seneca.

Of the many choices we have for farmers market, this one is the most interesting and worth a visit…read more Come in early spring and buy plants and vegetables to grow in your garden. With many varieties of annuals and perennials you can't lose because the prices are so attractive and difficult to pass up. During the summer months, enjoy fun of shopping for beautiful produce, locally grown, fresh and still have real dirt on them. You'll find everything that is in season at the moment, plus a unique assortment of plums or beans for example. It was great to see elderberries for sale, recently, but I thought it was little bit pricey. Then I regretted not buying them. I will next time if still available. Tart cherries from a Polish farmer's truck are always a treat along with many kind of plums and apples he offers. Sweet corn from the Amish stand was delicious! You don't have to put anything on it to enjoy the corn. Every bite was like eating cake, so sweet and satisfying, but if you feel like have a real dessert, have a pie. They have different kind of pies for you with seasonal fruits. The tomatoes were sweet and meaty and the melon is juicy and ripe to perfection. Beans are crispy and extremely flavorful and peppers with a strong, wonderful smell makes you'll eat it raw like an apple. Everything looks great at this market. Besides vegetables and fruits livestock is also available. If you want a live chicken come and get it. There are eggs too of course. What's not to love about fresh farmer's eggs? Shopping for food is only half of the enjoyment. Second is a Flea Market with all kind of treasures. You never know what you can find there. I have to mention, my review is based on shopping on weekend, especially Saturday. I'm not sure how busy is this place at the rest of the week, but Saturday is the time to go. Be sure you don't oversleep and get up and go rather early. All goodies go fast and you don't want to miss the best.

Maybe this isn't the right season, but I was highly disappointed with what was being offered. There…read morewasn't that many stands out, it was probably 15 venders at most. Back at one time, you had so many choices it was shoulder to shoulder traffic. The prices no longer show any value to cause you to come here. Honestly you can shop at Price rite and Walmart, and see that their vegetables and fruit are cheaper.
