Natalie's Tamales (Instagram natalies_tamles). Met her at an Yelp event and fell in love with the tamales and sauces. Having southern roots been hard to find a good tamale, but Natalie has nailed it. The pork and chicken tamales are delicious! Like I said the weather was not the best, but I was still surprised at how many vendors were there. Ranging from fresh sausage, fruits, vegetables, sweets, cheeses and wine and alcohol. I met a chef, Chef Scott Bernard. (Instagram goodneighborflavor) He has a stand with balavka, original and brown sugar cinnamon. They both were tasty, the brown sugar cinnamon was my favorite. He was very friendly. He told me he does catering, and four course private dinners, as well as opening a Bistro in Cheektowaga coming soon. I love going and meeting new vendors. I will definitely have to try this market in the summer, where I am sure will have way more vendors. Shop local!

Some vendors have "homegrown" signs, but many don't. What's the point of going to a farmers market and buying out-of-state produce? Some vendors have clear signage with prices, but not everyone - which makes it very time-consuming to ask lots of pricing questions if you shop on a limited budget and stressful if you don't like holding up the line. Many farmers also seem to grow very similar items. I rarely or never see things like okra, peppers other than bells, radicchio, tomatillos, purple carrots, etc. I'd love to see more variety! What do I need to do to get a decent head of radicchio around here? Most vendors only accept cash; some are starting to take Venmo now but only a few seem to accept credit cards. I wouldn't mind this except there is no signage so you have to wait in line and get someone's attention to ask at EVERY stand even before picking out veggies if you don't carry cash. There is an ATM on-site but of course it charges fees. There is very little shade and no areas to sit and rest. The one covered area is always very tightly packed with people and it is hard to walk through; I don't understand how anybody shops at the vendor tables in there. The parking lot is small, very tight, and a challenge to get into and out of - and people frequently just stop vehicles in the middle of the road and block you in. It's easiest to park along the side streets in the neighborhood - but plan ahead and bring a rolling cart to carry stuff back to the car. Finally, the market is technically year-round and happens on multiple days, but be aware that if you go during the off-season or on a Thursday that there are significantly fewer vendors and your selection will be very small. Maybe not even worth the drive depending on where you're coming from. I get it, being a vendor is hard work - I have worked at farmers markets myself - but it's something to be aware of ahead of time to set expectations so you aren't disappointed. Summary: This is one of the most stressful and least rewarding markets I've been to. I go when I want to get a huge quantity of tomatoes or apples, and otherwise avoid this one in favor of the smaller markets that require their farmers to actually grow what they sell.

I bought some chili powder. It was unbelievably cheap, but spicy it was not. For the Southern tier this is probably a bonus. The ladies running the store were friendly and hardworking; they knew where everything is.

It's been 2 years since I was last here and the market has grown in size. We stopped for a breakfast pizza and Duke's doughnuts and headed to the shelter by the playground to eat. There are plenty of picnic tables and trash receptacles. Then off to get some vegetables, breads and pastries, other vendors had a number of other items. There are llamas and they are so cute and the baby was adorable. There were kids all around petting them. Worth a look!

But the owners operate their own independent farm stand here on Saturday morning, typically. They have a whole host of locally grown fruits and vegetables, as well as delicious baked goods that they make right there on site. Sometimes, they have ridiculously amazing deals, like this morning, when I was able to buy fresh homegrown watermelon and cantaloupe for $1 each. Nothing wrong with them, beautiful produce, for a dollar each. That's crazy! Lovely farm atmosphere, chickens clucking all over the place, a friendly farm cat, and the owner and his wife are just wonderful friendly people to chat with. It was nice to get out and shop at local vendors. I really liked the set up and signs pointing everyone to additional shops and vendors that were indoors. The hours are from 9-2 which is nice because there isn't a big rush to get there early. It's on the weekend and sometimes sleeping in takes presidence lol. However, some vendors sell out or may not stay the full length of the market so I would reccomend going early at least once. All of the vendors are spaced apart, there are covid rules in effect and it feels very safe. I was comfortable during both of my visits and I would gladly return.

I assume this is only for the summer time, and that in the winter they'll go back to their Saturday morning farmers market. These are definitely not the same vendors it's all food trucks. You can park easily in the parking lot because I don't take up the whole parking lot either, which is really nice.

Opening day I noticed the vendors below. They do expect to add others moving forward. Jolie's Chinese Traditional Food Singer Farm Naturals The House of Olives Gino's Italian Bakery Hens Honey Bee Farm Kornerstone Coffee Code Blu Juice Bar Librock Farm Arden Farm I'm thrilled there is a Farmers Market closer to where I live, and not on a Sat morning. Well done on that front. While the vendor stalls were well spaced, there was also a lot of space between them, so I look forward to more vendors coming. This is a venue that is very stroller/wheelchair etc friendly, which, if you've been to other markets around town, you know is not always the case. The 4th star is because of that. The layout is just plain easy and comfortable. Parking is street, or the BK lot, which is what we did.

Stocked up on honey from Geri Hens (a familiar face for years at farmer's markets in WNY), & bought a gorgeous strip steak from Librock Farm (from Gasport). I'm so glad to have a midweek farmer's market so close to home. It is my understanding that there will be an "official" opening later this month and that more vendors will be joining the market. I'm looking forward to becoming a weekly customer!
