I recently bought a new Cadillac Escalade from Cole Glimore. I had ordered this vehicle in May as I was waiting on the availability of certain options that would only become availableon the 2015.5 models. Cole Gilmore provided me with updates throughout this process in regards to the order being received and production dates. Once the vehicle was received, I was notified that I could pick it up the next day and our salesman, Neil, was there to introduce us to the vehicle. We have a daughter in a wheelchair and I was concerned about parking in the snow. They opened the showroom floor and allowed me to drive my trade in onto the showroom floor then they brought our new vehicle into the showroom. This allowed Neil to give us a complete walk through on all the systems in a dry and warm environment. All in all, Neil spent about 2 hours with us to make sure that we were familiar with the vehicle. Had the 3500mi checkup at alittle over 4000mi ( oil, tire rotation,) to prepare for a family vacation throughout our lovely state . Drove about 500 miles when the rear tire came loose tore off four lug nuts and a stem. Luckily the tire didn't hit anyone and my family was ok The dealer in Traverse City, was wonderful, the Service manager drove out and took over and the car was repaired the next day- great customer service They recommended I call my dealer when I got home I thought to check it and see if it was something else that caused it Well I did and they said they would fire someone for that and it must have been someone trying to steal my tire This certainly poor customer service. I really don't want anyone fired. I rather think this is a management issue- pushing the tachs too hard , poor policies ( checks and balances) I couldn't get much if a word in edgewise I'm ashamed of people I should be able to trust. First, I was hung up on twice when asking to be transferred to the service department. Then, I was talked to like I was a mentally handicapped child. Lastly, I was told there would be a $99 fee for me to drop off the car, for evaluation and that fee is NOT applied to the cost of the repairs. No other dealerships behave this way. I live in Chicago and they don't even charge at the Caddy dealership there! What a scam!!!! I know times are tough but I'm appalled at the service and policies here. Wow. Just wow. read more

I advised my 91 year old mother to have her Buick brought in because it was stalling in traffic. They put brakes on it and several other expensive things that didn't fix the problem totaling over $2,300. and never called her first. I had to sell the car to pay for the charges after they took my mother to court. Buick provided an intermediary who seemed very "familiar" with the judge (who treated both me and my mother disrespectfully.) After not providing the old parts (as provided by law) they claimed since my mother didn't call and have them "make it right" that she lost this case. I had to put a new battery and ignition switch in the car just to sell it. I think this place is overcharging confused old women and anyone else they can prey on. read more

I was treated well by the sales person and Cole but bought a 2021 GMC Sierra drove it 13,000 miles when it started making noise and misfiring. Turns out it needed lifters, rockers and push rods. After looking at a few You Tube videos it was clear this is a defect with the AFM DFM systems. This is the technology that shuts off cylinders when not needed. Makes you wonder if they knew of this defect. All was repaired by service under warrantee but when I asked numerous times if it was repaired with the same faulty system that failed no one could or would tell me. They all said they don't know the answer to this very simple question. Even if they truly did not know seems like a simple question for GM who must know, kind of a big deal when you pay so much for a new truck. read more

I'd give them a -100 if I could. They figured out how to screw up a brand new $75,000 Sierra denali. Went in for an oil change and came out with a truck that locks up the brakes after 5 miles per hour. Took it back and they didn't have a loaner so I had to rent a vehicle that cost me $560 and they still didn't fix problem and never reimbursed for rental car. Service department is the worst I've dealt with in 30 years of buying GM. COVID had nothing to do with it. STAY AWAY YOU'VE BEEN WARNED. THE WORST read more

This will be long. Sorry. First, I have always had a great experience with Cole Buick. I've been coming here to have them service my cars for over two years - a 2014 Regal GS and now a 2017 Regal GS. They did a lot of good work on my 2014, and they treated me well every time - even today, though today's experience was very concerning. I hesitated to write this review, but the point of this system is to educate consumers on businesses and their potential experience. I do not intent to slander this shop or say everyone should stay away from them. I simply want consumers to be aware of their rights and what they MAY experience. I own a slightly modified 2017 Buick Regal GS. Changes include minor body panel additions and a few bolt-on parts that will outlast and outperform the OEM ones. I recently purchased the vehicle from the other side of Michigan, and brought it in for a thorough "pre-purchase" inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. Upon arrival, I informed my service adviser of the modifications to the car and some things I'd observed that I'd like them to inspect closely. He made note of those things and I dropped off the keys and left the car in capable hands. After the work was done, my service adviser called me in the typical professional fashion, and I came back to pick up my car. Upon checking out, I discovered some very concerning language listed on my visit report: "VEHICLE HAS AFTER MARKET MODIFICATIONS, ALL FACTORY WARRANTIES ARE VOIDED" Let me pause for a second so your heart can drop like mine did... OK, compose yourself. Be professional and courteous about this. It's probably just a mix-up. I walked back over to my service adviser and politely expressed my concern about the language included in the visit report. The car has around 25,000 miles and I purchased it Certified Used so the powertrain warranty goes to 100k. I was informed that this is normal and typical - when you install aftermarket parts on the car, it voids the manufacturer's warranty. I again politely expressed from a customer perspective that I was not comfortable accepting this statement on a record of maintenance for my car. If I walked out of the shop with that language on the vehicle's maintenance record, I would be accepting the dealership's statement that they are voiding my warranty - bumper-to-bumper and powertrain. I politely informed them that I wasn't willing to accept this on the maintenance record. It was too broad of language. I was pretty sure it wasn't right. Maybe not even legal. I was escalated to the Service Manager at this point. He informed me that this is how things are, and they would need a District Manager's approval to go against this "policy." Fortunately, the DM was at that very location today... After a very long time, the Service Manager returned and informed me that the DM was sticking with the voided warranty decision. During my plentiful waiting time, I had pulled up the FTC's dissertation on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. I asked him to read the section regarding the fact that dealerships and manufacturers are NOT able to void the full warranty for using aftermarket parts. This is illegal. The tune immediately changed, and the Service Manager was then willing to discuss removing the language from the visit report. After waiting for more time, he said he was unfortunately unable to do this and instead added the following statement to the maintenance record: "THE AFTERMARKET CAT. CONVERTER MAY VOID ANY FACTORY WARRANTY THAT IS RELATED TO THIS PART." So. Did they do a great job staying professional? Yes. No one escalated to a heated conversation. No one dug their heals in stubbornness. Everyone looked at the facts logically. I'm accepting of the end result and the fact that this team is only human. Here's the thing, though. I shouldn't have to assert my legal rights to a place of business that seems to pride itself in customer service and putting the customer first. What I can't get over is that this shop's FIRST reaction was an illegal one. Have they lost me as a customer? Yes. Should they lose you, too? Not my place to say. read more

Not only was my service competitive and affordable in price, the gentleman who assisted me was very helpful and friendly. I had asked if I could collect my personal items from the vehicle just before they took it into service and he said "It'll cost extra.", then smiled and laughed. Purchased a new 2015 GMC Sierra Denali in July of 2015 and love the truck - but will never step into the dealership again because their service department is so terrible. Service after the sale is an important part of a purchase decision and we would never buy from Cole Buick GMC again. Unprofessional behavior, refusal to call back and try to resolve a problem, service reps who are not knowledgeable, dismissive and condescending behavior toward a female customer... I could continue to list the issues we experienced. It is as if they were trying their best to make us dissatisfied instead of helping to resolve a problem. Great customer service! Talked to Bruce about looking at a car on a Tuesday. He contacted the dealership in Marshall about the vehicle and asked if it was a nice car and if he would sell it to a friend and the guy said yes to both. Bruce and his wife drove to Marshall that night to get the car. I looked at the car Wednesday evening and loved it! Took it home that night! Only issue was the gas cap light was on as well as the malfunction light and the wiper fluid spout wasn't hooked up on the passenger side. The dealership ordered a new gas cap and a spare key and an owners manual. Would definitely recommend this dealership to a friend or family member! read more

Absolutely disgusted with this place! I had my Sierra serviced here, an oil change and tire rotation. I live 30 min from this dealership so its a bit of a drive. The reason im saying how far i live from this dealership is ironically i get home and wash my truck. Usually your vehicle gets washed but again ironically they didn't do it this particular time. So im washing my truck when i get to my tires i have several lug nuts that are barely on the technician or technicians who had worked on my vehicle had forgoten to tighten my lugs. Wait it gets better! Im leaving across country to go camping pulling my rv trailer mind you. I proceed to take my truck to local shop to have all lugs checked and the whole passenger side had not even been torqued! Long story short if you want you and your family put at risk by shoty negligent work then i would recommend Cole GMC! My family will NEVER return here! read more

The first lady I talked to was abrupt and did not listen to my request-- transferred me to a scheduling lady- who transferred me to service-- who transferred me to parts whom never picked up with no voicemail box. well took my Vehicle in to get serviced Today 10/1/15 at Cole. I scheduled a few errands to run while it was being serviced. I was impressed on how they were ready for me when I arrived, too bad this did not end well. I asked the service man "how long would it take to complete this recall" . He stated "around two hours" . he then asked if I was going to be waiting for my vehicle, I stated "no, I have someone picking me up" . After all the checking in paper work was taken care of , the service man stated "OK , we will have it ready by 4pm" ... wait ... what that's 6 hours not the 2 he said it would take. I stated that's not two hours, he said "ok hows 2 pm" begrudgingly I said ok. so now i begin to feel like im just another customer , even though i have been bringing my vehicle's here for 10 years . He asked if I wanted a car wash , I stated , "yes please , I would appreciate that , thank you " . A hour has passed , I am at a local restaurant eating breakfast to kill some time, I get a phone call from the dealership stating " we don't have the "part" to complete the recall. REALLY, you could not have told me when you called the previous day to confirm the appointment, nor did you check to see if the part was there knowing that I had taken the time to "set the appointment up" I stated this to him over the phone, he then proceeded to tell me that "well were giving you a free car wash" lol really. My 10 yr old could have done a better job washing my car with dirty rags. DO NOT try to justify a free car wash for my inconvenience. so I arrive to pick up my car, service man say "Mr so in so right " .. I say yes it is. grabs my keys hands them to me and states " when can you bring it back" I start laughing and state that I will not be bringing back my car for anything , and this dealership is un organized and customer service is non existent here , I askhim where is my car parked, he states " umm i think its on the north side, and points. I wasted 4 hours of my time ( person i had to help me drop off and pick up was also with me) side not . last December i was in the market to purchase a new car, left my name and number to a gentleman , said he would call me in a few days, I also went to a FORD dealership and they said the same, low and behold NO phone call from COLE, and I'm proud to say I am a proud owner of a 2015 FORD escape. I had a power seat sensor code set and asked to have the problem diagnosed. Tech did meter checks but didn't inspect the actual seat position sensor (Potentiometer). Basically gave me the same information I gave when I brought the vehicle in. The car Computer is like a meter on the sensor continuous. I was told the part was not available and charged $157.00 Years later I was repairing another seat issue and noticed some excess foam had broken the conductors at the sensor. It was an incredibly obvious and easy to fix issue. I repaired the connections and the MSM seat sensor code I had for years has not returned. If you want clueless overpriced repairs and snobby attitude take your car to Cole. read more

We've done business with Cole Automotive for over 20 years and have bought over 60 vehicles from them. We have just bought the last vehicle we will ever buy from them. We agreed upon the price of the vehicle and then the paperwork was drawn up. We assumed the paperwork would reflect the agreed upon price. The business manager did not go over the paperwork, but merely showed where to sign. My mistake.......I didn't look close enough to catch the difference in price. The paperwork showed the cost of the vehicle as $3,000 higher than we had agreed to. Days later, when I called the dealership to go over this I was told that they would look into it. Then I received a call letting me know that the Sales Manager (Jack) said "a deals a deal because they signed the paperwork". We got screwed by them and they don't care. Either Cole Automotive made a mistake, or they intentionally set out to see if they could make more money on the deal and slip it past us. In either case, we can't continue to do business with a firm with these type of business ethics. It truly is a shame that a dealership would treat its long term customers this way. I can only imagine what they feel is an "OK" way to treat non-long term customers. If you choose to do business with this dealership you will want to make sure you get everything in writing beforehand and then make sure you check every bit of paperwork you get from them.
