If you have ever have an emergency this is not the place. Back a couple of months ago my doggie started having a really awful ear infection and they couldn't help us so we took her somewhere else. Yet another emergency comes up with my second doggie (can't hold fluids, food and bloody stool) and needed some help. Been coming there for a while but my wife and I decided to not come here anymore mostly because of customer service and availability. According to front desk staff they were triple booked (I think she meant overbooked) and that we had to wait hours to be taken care of. Long story short, took my doggie to the ER room down the road (First Coast Veterinary) they're incredible - I wish they were more than just an ER room. Black and white difference. The funny thing is that they recognized us, we keep going there because at Cole's there's rarely availability for either walk ins or emergencies. Front desk staff is so inconsistent with customer service. There's been times where I have walked in and they don't even say hello, just not welcoming. Just make sure you show up when they're in a good mood. Dr. Cole - awesome, he's patient, caring and knowledgeable. five stars for him. Customers service - inconsistent, could potentially be perceived as rude, not welcoming, unprofessional. one star for front desk staff. Availability - one star, I was a client for years and always had to go somewhere else. Dr Cole has taken care of all my animals since approx 2000! He's amazing and he is reasonable! He saved a poor kitty (newborn) which had problems w fecal incontinence ! The other vet charged over $1000 in the first month! Dr Cole gave me instructions and taught me what to do in order to help her. He also has taken care of 2 dogs for me their lifetime, excellent care! Excellent staff! 100percent approve!! read more

Just had the nicest unfortunate appt with this vet. My baby girl had a bad scratch on her eye and I drove 45 min to take her here. They only go by appt but found time for me. They were awesome! Gentle and kind to my girl, answered all my questions and calmed fears. Front desk was super sweet and it was a good visit. I will HIGHLY recommend them based on my visit today! Dr Stewart and her staff are all really caring, professional and knowledgeable. They have never been rude to us or treated any of our cats like anything less than the special family members that they are. We came here after experiencing a very difficult situation with a vet further inland yet claiming to be more "coastal" ('nuf said) and had lost a very beloved cat. We did have a wait, maybe a month, before the new patient intake appointment but once we met everyone we felt like we had found the right place. The staff know our male cat who comes in monthly for a much needed anal gland release and our experience has been great and our expectations more than met. An added bonus for us retirees is that their fees are more reasonable than our previous vet and they do not push us to do unnecessary and costly tests every 6 months which we used to gladly pay believing that they were necessary for our babies' health maintenance. We also like that they don't have a revolving door for their vets to come in and leave the practice. We see the vets who own the practice, not some corporate venture group hired good-for-the-moment-warm-body with very little stake in the outcome of the practice. There are two vets, and they own their business and are accountable to each patient, to their human owners, and to their staff. Everyone believes in their mission and it shows. read more

Just moved here. Took 3 mos to get in with dr and appointment finally for 9am arrives. The front desk is unconcerned we are there. Barely take note of us. I said hello, gave name and they looked down on screen and started talking to each other as we stood there. They never acknowledged my dog, or me for that matter. They got up went to back & when they came out I asked am I supposed to go with u? They said no. I said should I have a seat? They said yes. I waited for 5-10 another man walked in and they told him Dr has emergency & would be a bit late. Another 10 min, with nothing said to me and I left. My dog was just shaking and crying the whole time. Wasn't a pleasant experience. Maybe they have enough business they don't need to be warm & fuzzy or even courteous. No matter, I will find a vet office that at least tries to care. Front staff should set the tone and it wasn't a tone I've ever experienced in a vet office. read more

Was referred to have my pets teeth cleaned by a friend. I will not go into detail but when I picked up my beautiful dog- all teeth were remove except a back one. It changed my dog also and made her super needy. The only communication was brief and prior to the cleaning. Of course they really want you to sign off on what they do -but to have no communication that the lady vet determined to yank all my dogs teeth is just beyond. So I get my dog given to me with blood dripping out of her mouth. Not a vet hand-off either. I get in my car and am mortified about the blood. Turned around and called in panic and then am met with valley girl talk that sometimes this happens when they take out canines. The girl behind desk said she thought it was endearing when the tongue hangs out. If you are going there for a cleaning please make sure EVERYTHING is properly communicated and if they are doing anything other than a cleaning that you expect a call. Asst also said they can't call owners when they are in the process because it would take away from procedure. Extracting all teeth is worth a minute of a person's time. If she had an inkling that they all might go- it should have been communicated face to face.I hope they improve the protocol and interaction time with future patients. Also be more sensitive -as these are people's furry family members. They should also review pets possible personality changes. I did the follow up with my old vet as I would never return to this place. My old vet just asked me...what did I learn? Boy- did I learn! read more

Dr. Cole has only been attending to my dog for the past two years but his care, concern and compassion have been heartfelt and greatly appreciated. We are at a point where it is time to say goodbye. It has been difficult for us to prepare but we are so thankful that Dr. Cole has been there explaining what to expect, listening and providing careful guidance. We have been a dog family and have lived and raised dogs in many locations - there is no vet better than Cole Veterinary, both doctor and staff. There's not enough kind things I can say about Dr. Cole and his staff. Dr. Cole has been the vet for my parents' dogs for close to 10 years and when I first got my little Chihuahua, he was his vet at Beaches Animal Clinic. We've since moved out of state and my little guy is 11 now and in heart failure and I've spent close to 5k on treatments in the past month alone in New York City, where we live. While visiting my parents this month, we had a little scare and Dr. Cole and his team got us in right away and gave us such excellent care. He really took the time to talk to me about heart failure and really comforted me in a way that no other vet had, even with all of the incredibly expensive treatments. And all that to say that the care and more importantly, the compassion we received with Dr. Cole far exceeds any other vet we've seen. I'd highly recommend him for any pet parent. read more

Took our male dog that has had a ear issue for months to Dr Cole after using a Vet in Ponte Vedra Beach that charged is $900 and never fixed the issue. Dr Cole mixed up a prescription and explained to us how to deliver this to our dog and as usual, the issue has resolved and we couldn't bE happier. Great team and office. AWFUL experience!! Our 15 year old lab had a stroke and we brought her in. Told them she has history of seizures and a crate will trigger another one. They told me she was in the back and being care for until a room came open. Walked back there and she was in a crate!!! To top it off, staff was extremely rude. Never taking another pet there again and I would recommend you look elsewhere. read more

We cannot say enough great things about Cole Veterinary clinic. We were staying in Jax Beach for a month, and had to make two visits (cracked nail) for our Great Dane. The whole staff is extremely friendly and patient. They did really make you think that your dog was the best one they'd met. It is easy to get questions answered via the phone by a vet tech and making an appointment was simple. Dr. Cole took the time to let our pup get comfortable with him, before investigating. When he got down to business, he got down on the floor with a special magnifier and examined her. We've been to other vets about this nail issue and none has been so through. His recommendation on treatment was conservative and we were happy with that. All in all we wish we lived down here full time so that we could come to Cole Veterinary Clinic as regulars. read more

I don't have enough nice things to say about Dr. Cole, his staff, and the facility itself. My dog, Casper, got into the trash and had an obstruction because of it. I was a new client, but called them (I had heard great things from other clients) hoping they could help and they got him in within a few hours of my call. Turns out his intestines were all twisted and they ended up having to resect a foot of his bowel. After the surgery he was transferred to the er vet for overnight care and Dr. Cole went out of his way to call the er vet multiple times throughout his stay to check on him and even called me personally to touch base and let me know how he was doing and what the other vet had said. Today (Sunday) after Casper was discharged from the er last night and even though Dr. Cole's office is closed, they called me to see how he was doing. When Dr. Cole learned that he still was having some vomiting, he prescribed some more medication for him and had the staff leave it for me to pick up. - even though they are closed on sundays!! He could have easily told me to take him back to the er and get the medicine from there, which would have been much more expensive. Thank you thank you thank you Dr. Cole and all of the amazing techs and front desk staff for everything!!! I will be bringing Casper and my cats back here for years to come. read more

I can't say enough about Dr. Cole and his staff. Our beloved female dog recently arrived in Florida with mast cell tumor cancer that had metastasized. The surgery in NJ was not successful in removing all the cancer cells. We saw a local oncologist and also needed to find a local veterinarian for her care. Dr. Cole gave her a thorough examination and was very helpful in advising us on her care going forward. Dr. Cole was the most compassionate person I know. He kept in touch and frequently inquired on how our dog was doing after a few episodes of seizures. Although we knew that our beloved girl was getting close to the end of her life, Dr. Cole and his staff made sure that, when the time came, she left us peacefully. March 23,2020 Dr Cole has been Alex and Olivia's doctor since we adopted them almost 6 years ago. They have not had many major issues with exception of a mast cell tumor one for each and both were benign. We waited for Dr. Cole to open his new office and got our first appointment in February and its where we found out one of fur kids had an issue, he immediately did his test, confirmed we needed surgery and did it right away, turned out benign as all of us suspected, but better to always be safe. Dr Cole's new location is beautiful and very clean. His staff is very caring and courteous. I had to take one of mine in to get her stitches removed on 3/23, and I suspected something might be wrong with her sister so I brought her with us to the appointment. I was able to get my second one in and it was not an issue for them to take a look at her. I am glad I did because she was put on an antibiotic right away. It is not anything serious, but most folks would charge you more or not allow you in without an appointment. If you are looking for a new vet and are not happy with your current, Dr. Cole is it. read more
