Also, the front desk staff is very rude to certain customers. I called one of them out on it, not in an inappropriate way, but I told them that I didn't appreciat their attitude. After that, I was told that I was "banned" from coming back to the clinic. I have never had such an experience at any establishment. It was shocking to say the least. We called last…read moreevening ( 3 minutes prior to closing) with neurological concerns for our 8 year old cat, Scrappy. The person on the phone was very kind and arranged for us to bring her in at 8am (today) she also had given us the name of an emergency vet that would be open all night if we felt that she needed treatment sooner. Fast forward to this morning.... My 20 year old brought Scrappy to the office at 8am and was greeted by a friendly staff. Scrappy was examined by Dr McKenna who THANKED my kiddo for bringing her in. Dr McKenna treated my cat and my kiddo with the utmost respect, kindness and concern. She noted almost immediately that Scrappy does indeed have something neurological going on, as she is walking almost sideways and her gait was wobbly . She feels strongly that Scrappy more than likely has eaten something outside that was toxic or could possibly have toxoplasmosis. After explaining the risks and benefits to having a very expensive blood test, we agreed that it would be in Scrappy's best interest to have the, Feline Viral Complete with Toxoplasma panel done. The bloodwork results will take 3 days to come back, but in the meantime, Dr McKenna felt that Scrappy needed to immediately start on a regiment of antibiotics and anti nausea medication. While there is still some uncertainty as to exactly what is going on with my sweet baby, Scrappy. I am grateful and relieved that we had the expertise, care and compassion of Dr McKenna, and all of the staff, at Timuquana Animal Hospital. Thank you !

I'm in the same boat. You all need to apply for a care credit card and have it on hand, you cannot go into a vet and pay half there and half later it's just the fact it's not Dr. Patel being ignorant. He is a very compassionate man towards my dog so when he tells you he can't have a payment plan it's your fault, especially if you are reading this and don't apply for a care credit card. I had to take my dog to the emergency room the other night down the street. They cleaned me out because he had seizures tomorrow morning. I will be walking into see Dr. Patel to tell him everything he gives it to me straight, tells me the price tells me what I can get by to pacify my dog and always has been. I moved away to the beaches area. I still commute to him his medicine that he distributes out of there is at a very fair price try going somewhere else and getting it. It will cost you sometimes twice as much. I can't say anything better than Dr. Patel other than I wish he was a 24 seven emergency care when he is out of town. He has other veterinarians that are very compassionate that sit in for him. my dog has heart problems and now has to be put on a seizure medication as the emergency room at blue pearl down the street says which is another excellent place so do not complain about a man who is running a tight knit business and doing it well he is reasonably priced in is thorough my Chihuahua BuBu is well taken care of by him. His medication's cost about 65% of which other vets have charged. He has stated the art equipment. He is a veterinarian that doesn't have a bunch of decorations on the walls. He just takes care of animals and has taken care of my dog for years since he is opened do not complain about price or that he can't put you on a payment plan get a care credit card use it here and there because it will cut you off if you don't use it and if you have an extensive problem with your animal, they will cover it. Yes, it is about 20% on the dollar but what are you going to do when your fur baby is in peril and you go in there and the bill is $2000 and you only have 500 bucks in your pocket so give this man a break he is awesome.

They held her overnight and kept us updated on her very consistently. Overall, even when we bring all of our dogs in for regular checkups they are always smiling and talking to us and giving the dogs lots of love and attention. I love the lady upfront with the long brown hair she is always amazing. Not with just us but the wellbeing of our animals. Would definitely recommend coming here. 100%

We originally fostered two kittens and brought them in for adoption. While we were there, we were asked to foster two additional kittens, Ladybug and Grasshopper. Ladybug arrived with what appeared to be an untreated eye infection and was covered in fleas. We later learned neither kitten had been given flea treatment. Grasshopper also had fleas but otherwise seemed healthy. After about a week, Ladybug had started gaining strength and eating on her own. When we brought her in, we had finally received an email from Jax Humane Society, but by the time we got there, she had already passed away. Two days later, Grasshopper suddenly became lethargic, stopped eating and meowing, developed severe diarrhea, and could barely move. We took him to Jax Humane Society and expressed concern that he may have contracted the same illness as his sister, but our concerns were dismissed as dehydration. Within hours of bringing him home, his condition rapidly worsened, and he passed away after the clinic had already closed. This experience was heartbreaking. In our case, we felt our concerns were not taken seriously, and there was no emergency phone number to reach anyone after hours--only email communication. Based on our experience, I cannot recommend fostering or adopting through Jax Humane Society. No family should have to go through the trauma that we experienced.
