Nice venue, plenty of parking, solid beer, plenty of space indoors and out, and friendly people. I think I've been twice, maybe three times, and will surely be back at some point. If you haven't checked it out yet, stop on by! The venue has a variety of seating options, some indoor, some outdoor, some large tables, some smaller, some at the bar, etc. The bathrooms are a little small if the place is really humming, but much nicer inside than you'd probably expect from a brewery in an old industrial building. In fact, the place overall is generally nicer and cleaner than you might expect. Biggest negative is that they don't have air conditioning. The last time I went it was one of those uncomfortable 90-degree days, and let's just say the fans only helped so much and we were staying as still and relaxed as possible while anxiously waiting for the sun to go down. As for beer, they offer a fun variety of types. I'm sure some will be to your liking, while others won't, but at least a couple of their IPA's are very solid and well suited to the current trends. (Sun Was Blue and Don't Monday my Sunday were both good, as were some of the Low Hanging Fruit fruit beers). The parking lot would make me a little nervous with a really low car, but is otherwise perfectly fine for what it is.

Tricky turn if you're not paying attention.

I finally stepped out of my Work From Home bunker, with Vaccine deep in my veins, to meet up with two former work buddy's at a perfect mid-point, Coles Road Brewery. We seen each other for about 18 months, we let our regular gathers lapse prior to the Pandemic. Now making this gathering much more important. I was pressured, "Don't be late." Late to visit a new brewery I have been savoring the flavor, NOT THIS MOLE! I arrived a good thirty minutes ahead. The interior of Coles Brewery, extremely open and comforting, but the indoor mask requirement still in place. The elevated and covered front terrace was shaded and the open air fresh. The traffic along the road AND the rail line, loud, but tolerable. I had enough time to plot my course of tasting from their two page tap list. Very impressive. IPA's & DIPA's and A TIPA were extremely pleasant and made for a fun reunion full of "Ship's n' Giggles with the Slowpokes." Generally we would sample and have snacks, sometimes followed by food. Not on this occasion, but the DQ across the road was mighty tempting.

Great local brewery, clean ,great service, and even better beers. Food truck selection is always changing. Great selection

The location is conveniently located near Berlin RR Station, and the patio is spectacular! However I noticed that my server didn't properly rinse the glass before pouring my beer, so that really affected the temperature and taste. They also offer FREE samples, which is not bad considering how breweries often charge for flights.

What a fun spot! Berlin (BUR-lin) has been redeveloping it's downtown itself in the last few years, and having local brews--two indie coffees and a brewpub--ties it all together. The train rail bar footer and other track decor are a fun nod to the neighboring CT Rail/Amtrack lines, and the wall mosaic is an assemblage/mosaic. The best part of this cute pub is that you won't be thirsty! Coles Road landed around the same time as Covid but lives on today with great brews from lagers to IPA, stout to sour, and you get to choose between pints or half-pint pairs. Although you don't see a cold case, there's a to-go menu ready with bottles and crowlers. If you're passing through or making a quick stop on the way home, they've got you. If you get to stop and sit for a bit, the bars are glossy, there's a game selection by the restrooms, and music many weekend nights. Our little one is happy they serve local Avery's soda. If you're lucky, sweet and savory Crêpe Hut is the food truck parked out front, with the best crepe of your life. On a summer day Prelude Lager pairs so very well with a Tomato Basil Spinach crepe, whose vinaigrette made friends with sour Low Hanging Fruit. Awesome beverages, glossy setting, kind staff, and awesome food trucks parked out front. This place has it all.

    Great Beer!

What's not to like, one of the Top Rated Brewers on Untapped, as most beers rate 4+, with a local pub like atmosphere. Lots of Beer choices, more depth than just IPA', Fruited sour, pale ale, pilsner, Stout etc, nice selection. There is almost always a dark beer on tap, tonight there was a Maple Barley Wine at 12.4% so smooth, no heat and hint of sweet malts, delicious! The Service is wonderful, knowledgeable people who appreciate Beer. ( Wine available). Nice decor, with outside patio, some crawlers available to go. Plenty of parking available. Normally a food truck on site, tonight a delicious Crape truck, quite good.

Have been looking at this brewer for many years but this is my first visit. They have a good variety of choices and offer 6oz and 12oz pours. The beer is top notch and did not disappoint. The space is clean and fun with decor left from the building's previous life as a feed store, donations from the Berlin Train Station and tables from the owner's family including a spectacular piece of wood making a nice central table. There is also outdoor seating for warmer weather overlooking the main drag next to the train tracks/trestle. Our server Beth was both friendly and knowledgeable feeding both our pallets and minds. I saw a few bags of some snacks behind the bar but we brought our own and enjoyed some heartier snacks from the food truck outside. The only bummer was that they did not offer flights. If you like beer, get yourself here ASAP! I know I'll be back!

This place is great! Easy to find and enough parking. Cool trendy, industrial vice. Clean and plenty of space for their tables. Although I will say, if more people find out about this place they're going to have to expand big-time. The staff is all friendly and passionate about the brews/brand. They were able to recommend and IPA for both of us that we each liked. My husband said the The Sun Was Blue was the best beer he's had all summer. Orange roads is a fan favorite and the Dipped in Moonlight was crisp and enjoyable. They had live music which gave the place a hog-energy vibe and made it tons of fun. Food truck today was unique and delicious (Dope Fried Food Truck- I'll review separately).

This is one of the newer breweries in the state and they have a truly inventive menu of IPA, stouts and sours. Our favorite was the KPI: Lavender and Blackberry and took two 32oz crowlers of it home with us. In fact, all the beers that we tried were good. I was also a fan of the low hanging fruit batches as well and took one of those back home with me. They offer crowlers of some of their beers on tap. When they ran out of one of the beers, my sister ordered the waitress was very nice and came by to discuss options and provide her with advice based on what she likes. In terms of the food offerings, they have a prepacked charcuterie package for $6 when there isn't a food truck there and require one per table. We will definitely be back when we are in the area. They have in door and outdoor seating. It is on a busy street so it's a little loud but there is a Dairy Queen across the street.

Beautiful place! I loveeeee that this place is so community oriented. They make modest batches of very well crafted beers. Yesterday was my first time ever there snd I will certainly go back. This place have so much space and seating with a huge drink menu. Perfect for parties, events or gatherings. I can't wait to make this the new spot for me and my friends.

"Concentric circles Wider and wider…read moreFrom the stones that you threw" (Fatboy Slim) Located pretty much under the Arrigoni Bridge connecting Portland to Middletown lies the Concentric Brewing Company. When you walk in, you'll notice two big attention grabbers -a big circular bar in front of you and big silver brewing tanks to your right. The tanks are key, because all of their beers are made right here at the brewery. Fourteen of them were on tap, with representatives from the IPA, Stout, Fruit Sour, Pilsner, Irish Red, Witbier, Brown Ale, Saison, and Stout branches of beer's family tree. The non-beer drinkers won't go home thirsty, because Concentric offers them cocktails, wine and ciders on the menu. A professional organization I belong to met there last night for beers, food, and a charity collection. I enjoyed a pint of their Portland Lite Pilsner (5.1% ABV) - it was refreshing and quite tasty. Concentric has a pretty nice bargain on four-beer flights for just $12. Our group bought quite a few of them and I also enjoyed a short pour of their Forever Red Irish Ale (5% ABV) and Quarry Brown American Ale (6.2% ABV). I enjoyed both and as a non-IPA guy, I was struck by how many non-IPA's they had. Now we all know that a good beer goes best with some good food, right? Well, we had big serving trays of Chicken skewers, French fries and excellent Firecracker Braised Pork and Beef Meatballs, cooked with Concentric Beer and a Smoked Ancho Glaze. The chicken was served over an incredible bed of spicy cabbage chunks that a friend described as "vegetable crack". That serving tray should have been classified as a controlled substance! It was cold last night, so we didn't have the chance to wander around outside and take advantage of the outdoor beer garden and lawn areas. The staff was excellent, especially the young ladies who chose a non-IPA flight for me! Well, done, Concentric.

Although his professional background was in advertising, Sigman had been an avid homebrewer since 1994. Eventually he decided to open his own brewery. Sigman chose the name "Relic" to reference his world travels. Aiming to craft artisanal ales inspired by flavors from around the world, he thought of himself as more of a chef than a brewer. Sigman doesn't brew beer based on which styles are trendy, but rather beers that he personally enjoys with tastes that he views as complimentary or exciting. I have visited Relic Brewing multiple times since I first became serious about craft beer in 2013. At that time, Relic was one of maybe 10 breweries in the state (today there are over 100). Of those original 10, only half remain in business. The taproom was very small during my initial visit: about 10 square feet and they only served small free samples. I recently stopped there with my older son because it occurred to me that I hadn't been there in at least 10 years. A lot had changed! In 2016, a full bar was added and Relic began to serve full pint pours as well as craft cocktails. A large back room addition opened in 2019, which featured a fully furnished lounge and a pinball arcade slowly evolved. When I first arrived, I ordered a taster flight which featured "Oktoberfest", "Nebraska IPA", "The Whim" (New England IPA), and "Double Whim" (Double New England IPA). I grabbed my flight and headed to the back room with my son. He was so excited to play the pinball machines and other various arcade games. The two of us had a nice father-son bonding experience playing pinball as I also enjoyed my beer samples; the "Oktoberfest" was my favorite! It was pretty chill vibe, and I got the sense that a lot of locals frequent them, which is cool. We hung out for nearly two hours and by the time we left the only other folks there were at the bar in the front room. The beer is still good! I did want to try some of their cocktails though. They have some pretty creative cocktails made with interesting homemade syrups, shrubs, and the like. I tried the Honey Don't which was tart but well balanced. I wished it was a little spicier, but I am a spice fiend. Then I felt for something a little sweeter so I went with the Poolside gossip. All the different ingredients really combined into a unique and delicious flavor! I really enjoyed what they have going on. The space was comfortable and relaxed and there's something on their drinks menu for literally everyone, plus entertainment. They have small snacks available, but you're also welcome to bring your own food. So it's basically like a very relaxed bar. We'll definitely be stopping in more frequently!
