The hotel has a beautiful view, and the gentleman at check-in was very friendly. However, this is where I get very confused reading prior reviews. The hotel is very, very dated. Please note that the rooms open up right to the outside, and in my case, to an alley, which tbh, seemed a little sketchy, especially without a deadbolt. Also, the room had a horrible stale smell, like a combination of thrift store and grandma's attic. Despite what is written in their listing on booking websites, (free continental breakfast), there isn't one. I was not told that they stopped serving breakfast at the end of October upon check in. My bad, I guess I should have either asked or consulted the hotel website. In the morning, I was just told, "there's no breakfast." I was only offered a yogurt, but with words to the effect that it should still be good. Umm, no thanks. Airing out the rooms and updating the listing on booking sites should be some easy fixes.

At first i was skeptical from the outside, but as they say, "don't judge a book by its cover!". The staff was so friendly and polite. They were very helpful with my questions and eager to assist. I stayed in a 1 bedroom and it was very clean! The bathtub with spotless. I liked how many towels they had available. My favorite thing about it was the location. You have so many food and store options in walking distance! One thing i wish worked a little bit better was their ac system. The dial was off. It would be 70 on the dial, but feel extremely hot. And when we turned it down substantially, it would not cool down for a long while.

The room is pretty standard, spacious, and a comfortable bed. No frills. The exterior of the hotel is cute with some flowers and parking is just right outside. We chose not to utilize the pool/hot tub but at a glance, could use an update. The complimentary breakfast has various continental hot and cold items like bagels, waffle maker, eggs, sausage and yogurt. There is also a table of snacks and water you can take with you for your day of adventures which I loved! I would stay here again as a good middle area to venture around Olympic National Park!

Whoever took the call said it was no problem we won't charge you since it's weather related. Next thing you know by the end of the trip, they double charged. We spoke to the front desk who said he will adjust with the manager. Apparently they gave us a credit back but was still charged the first night we didn't show up. I understand it could be policy but feel like there was no sympathy there. Corporate America at its finest. Hotel prices are a bit steep and it's not even a Sheraton. They offer a lot of snacks but breakfast was subpar. And there was a lady that didn't seem like she wanted to work there.

Tranquility comes to mine as the world out there gets very quiet. The nightly accommodations are extremely comfortable my wife and I sleep like babies. There is so many little details and treasures to been seen , please take time to visually experience as much you can. Their daughter Kelly runs a small gift shop on the grounds and well worth a visit there to pick up many different hand made items to take home to remember your lovely stay over. The owners are very gracious with their time and will explain where to go to explore , what to see and where are good places to eat. The accommodations are as comfortable, clean and up to date as I could want. Spacious with a nice filtered view of the Strait. Situated on wildlife conservation property, the hiking, access to the water's edge and open vistas were relaxing and allowed us to breathe. It is about a 10 minute walk to the Olympic trail at we had miles of well paved trail to walk and bike. We ate at the Sabai Thai restaurant for a birthday dinner treat (excellent and casual) and enjoyed a nice white wine with dinner. To top it all off - I saw a beautiful rainbow It sleeps 8 -10 comfortably and has good spaces for being together and separate and at $350 night we can't beat the price.

Unfortunately, due to massive fires in California and Oregon, the air in Western Washington became unhealthy and I made the difficult decision to cancel our trip. I first attempted to reschedule the trip to mid-October, hoping that by pushing our trip back, we'd be out of fire season and able to enjoy the outdoors. This was met by a phone call from Simone at Sequim Valley Properties, who accused me of overreacting, and berated me for the last minute cancellation and for requesting "all kinds of accommodations" (I had literally only asked if I could bring our family dog). She told me she would let me reschedule to mid-October, but only if I could guarantee that there would be no changes to the reservation. Since that's not a guarantee I could make (I am unfortunately not capable of predicting the future), and she was making me feel VERY uncomfortable to the point where I dreaded having to interact with her for a future vacation, I opted instead to cancel my reservation altogether. My girls and I will unfortunately never get to enjoy the lovely cabin in Port Angeles; at least not while Sequim Valley Properties is managing it. Simone's behavior was completely unacceptable. I'm not going to tolerate abuse from a property manager because of extenuating circumstances, and am certainly not going to give them any future business.

We also thought it was thoughtful the heat had been turned up before we arrived. Have stayed in a few of this company's vacay rentals, and they are all unique and comfortable. The website is really easy to use and book through - lots of reviews and photos, to find the house that's just right. I saw another reviewer had trouble getting forgotten items returned. I had the opposite experience - got my items back in a reasonable time period. I'm sure that is the biggest pain for these property managers! I just love coming to Sequim and trying out different spots to take in the mountains and the ocean views. Simone has like 30 properties to choose from!

The sites are scattered about nicely, all backing into the micro-rain forest (with trails). Roy and Annie (the owners) are wonderful and helpful, and even invite their guests to help themselves to the stunning vegetable and fruit garden behind their house. A joy to walk through even if you're not looking to pick any berries, herbs, or vegetables. There's not too much to go visit in the neighborhood, and the road traffic can be kind of loud for a few sites, but other than that, this is a wonderful spot to stay a few days and relax. Highly recommend, and will certainly visit again when/if we're in the area.
