Review #320 - 2019…read more We've been a member for about 5-6 years now & my son has recently decided that he no longer wants to pursue tennis after high school so I guess we'll just keep our membership for our 3-year old daughter once she develops a liking for tennis. We've only brought her out here once, and she seems to enjoy just running after the balls. I guess that's a sign of some interest. Unfortunately, the weather hasn't been too cooperative lately so we'll have to wait until spring before we can actually get a real sense of whether she'll like tennis enough to keep playing later on. The place is well kept & pretty much always available whenever we wanted to use it in the past. There are seven different courts, I believe, so we've never had to fight for an open time slot. My only gripe is that the monthly due goes up every year.

This club has 7 courts (one semi-hidden and semi-secluded below the parking area). The courts are maintained pretty well too. They Aldo have lights for nighttime play. The club house is kind of old and not too great but it has a mens and womens locker room. A tv and some seating. This club also has a nice little pool in the back that can be great for those hot summer days. It's also great after a tennis match. This is a private club though, so you either need to be a member or come with someone who is s member. Membership can get pretty expensive and all they offer is tennis and swimming but if you have the cash and love tennis then why not? The people who work there and the instructors are very nice and great with kids. It's a good place to learn tennis. That's where I learned when I was a little kid. It also is on a hillside and has a pretty nice view (except for being able to see HWY 24). It's also close to the highway so it has pretty easy access.

The coaches are great and they spend time at the end of each day giving a report on what they did and they recognize each child for their efforts. We plan to do one more this summer.

Cons: my application to their summer league didn't go through smoothly, but I wasn't told that until it was too late to join. So I joined the club itself. After 3 weeks of being a member, despite numerous attempts, I could not find a single person to play against. When I cancelled my membership and gave them constructive criticism about what I thought was wrong with their process, they decided instead to somehow make it about me. Sorry WCRC, it's your loss.

There are several days you can play, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday. Each Day of the week has a different vibe and level of competition. I mainly play on Sundays which is a little less competitive than other days. And it gives me enough time to recover. After the games we head to our sponsor bar to hang out, drink, and play flip cup. There are usually 2-3 parties that happen every season as well. I've made some of my best friends playing kickball. You should too!

Really fun and really great way to meet new people in a new city (or when you want to make new…read morefriends in the city you've lived in for awhile). Every league is different, so it's worth trying a few if you don't like the first one you are in. The kickball is fun but it works really well when paired with the drinking games after. The most important thing is to find a league where the post-game bar is on a night where you can afford to drink and is easy to get home from (i.e. no driving necessary). A good post-game means it doesn't matter whether you are on a team that loses every game. There is a mix of players and some have played for a few years and understand the strategies and have experience, while others are just starting out. Signing up as a free agent is pretty random, so you can get placed on a completely new team or as filling out an established squad. Most people are generally friendly and welcoming (beer does that to you).
