My dad has been having me play at dfc for 5 years coming onto my 6th and I love it so much.

"Town Fc" (concord) didn't develop my son and didn't comply with any of the promises that were listed in the agreement. I'm planning to leave the club and will never come back it is a horrible experience because all they want is your money. read more

Look somewhere else!!! They DO NOT have the kids best interest in mind. For a competitive club their younger age development program is lacking. They do not live up to the expectations they promise you at the beginning of the season based on paperwork. They frequently ask for more and more money without documentation why you need more money. When you question them, you are then labeled a distraction. The director of the girls even goes as far as to laugh at you and your comments. My daughter's experience was so bad she doesn't want to continue playing soccer anymore. There is a high turnover rate for coaching staff which leads to confusion and frustration. Practices are frequently canceled or rescheduled. There is no communication between club, team manager, and families. You will be happier at another club! read more

Definitely not the place to go. I wish we would have researched better. There were only 8 girls on the team, playing 8V8 games. The U9 girls team was more of an experiment. All they want & care about is money. As long as you are giving them money you are fine, as soon as you question them, you & your child become a "distraction". They did not comply with all that was promised in the paperwork given, & to add insult to injury the director laughed at our concerns. I recommend looking into any other local club. Very unsatisfied with everything. This club is one of the reasons that the sport of soccer does not develop in this country, because it is all about the money. read more

If you like the mushroom treatment (kept in dark, fed lots of sh!#) this is perfect place for you. Complete and utter lack of communication by upper level coaching administrators (including with the regular coaches), and a board that lets those same people dictate everything to the board. And if you try to point out that some clearer communication would really help out, you are treated as the problem - "shoot the messenger" type of thing. And it is bad enough when it is done to the parents, but the players? ridiculous. Treated like pawns and shoved around with out any regard for the players, and no communication regarding the hows and whys (If you aren't Chris Wondolowski). Too many told you are the premier team, or the gold team, then suddenly they are on a lower team, but told you are sorta still on the higher team, but not really, maybe sometimes, and that if you play well, maybe sorta you might move up, but not really. Sound confusing? get used to it if you go here. (I could show you an email chain that would boggle your mind, and it was an attempt to help on the part of others to establish some communication!...) And coaches aren't leaving just for higher pay, as another reviewer stated, if they even get higher pay elsewhere. They are leaving over treatment of them and their players, and lack of any input on decisions and a lack of respect for coaches and players. Looking to build their own reputations by wins and have little regard for underlings or players or anyone but their stars' development. If you aren't on the premier team, get used to being that mushroom. If you are on it, get it in writing so a month or two after you turn down other clubs and are stuck there, you kid doesn't get demoted. All about getting them in. Look elsewhere. read more

My son has played recreational and competitive soccer with Diablo FC since he was three. If you are looking for an organization that puts the right things first (i.e. teamwork, sportsmanship, community, family, etc.) but has the expertise to build top-level players (i.e. Chris Wondolowski), Diablo FC is the club for you! Simply put, coaches make the club and they have the best in the Bay Area. read more

Starting our eighth year with DFC! All three of our daughters have played and have had a fantastic experience - and developed into solid soccer players. Each year as tryouts come we think about looking at other clubs but ultimately come back to DFC - hopefully that speaks for itself! read more

My daughter has played with DFC for 3.5 years and this past year has been the WORST! The Coaching Directors are ruining DFC for the players and families. They make promises and then do the opposite. Families are leaving in droves - at every age group - due to the mismanagement! Unless your kid is on one of their favorite teams, you will be treated like a second-class citizen. Any concerns you bring up will be dismissed or better yet, you'll be told to leave (like we were over a year ago when we brought up concerns about placing kids on one team, telling them they are actually on another team, and then going back on their word). These actions hurt the kids most of all. Even kids who LOVE soccer have been driven away from the sport. And these are not isolated incidents! Coaches are leaving too, so it's very telling that they can't retain the best coaches. Instead, they bring in inexperienced coaches who do not know how to coach at the club level or do not know how to work with kids of certain ages. The kids don't improve their soccer skills and don't learn teamwork - BUT they do learn not to trust adults who say one thing and turn around and do something else. We are leaving DFC and will not return until the Director of Coaching is gone. And the volunteer Board does not have the guts to do anything about the mismanagement of the club. It's too bad DFC is going down the drain - at least people are getting out now before they spend any more time and money. read more

We've been with Diablo FC for 8 years. We have two kids at the club. We've had a great experience to date!

We have had an amazing experience at Diablo FC! All three of our girls have played for the club and all have experienced a very high caliber of play. I was compelled to write a review because I came across Ron R.'s Yelp review, which did not translate into our family's experience... so I thought I should take the time to express a different view point. With all three of my girl's teams we never experienced anything he detailed like being asked for more money, high coaching turn over, frequently canceled or rescheduled practices or poor player development. However, this is what I have learned about club soccer in the many years we've been involved...coaches do move because they want more money not because they are not happy and players typically move because their parents are frustrated to be paying a respectable amount of money and either not having victorious seasons or they want more playing time for their child. No matter what club you go to...the coaching and player/parent storyline is always the same. My conclusion is this, I have one child, so far, that has been given a soccer scholarship. Her coach was an integral part of the process and he is her greatest cheerleader (besides us of course). She communicated her desire to play at the next level and he shepherded the process for her. As for their teammates and their families...we cannot begin to express how blessed we feel to be connected with them. They are all incredibly special people. We are very appreciative of our experience at Diablo FC. read more

I have 4 grown children and 5 grandchildren. My granddaughter wanted to join the DFC club last year along with many of her friends whom were transferring from another organization. I invested the money with high hopes that she would progress and better her skills as well as enjoy playing with her friends. Fast forward to today. It turned out to be the worst decision. I have been involved in many sports organizations over the past 30+ years with my own children and I can honestly say that DFC was the worst experience I have ever encountered. The communication regarding issues and concerns with the parents was very lacking. Parents were left venting their frustrations on the sidelines at practices and games. There were year long issues with the coaching staff. The families involved, not only with our team but other teams as well were very unhappy. One team disintegrated completely before their season ended. Our team barely made it to the end as many families left prior to the end of the season to seek better situations for their children. That was the reality of it. In fact, every family that was on our team has now left DFC. Parents were shut down and their concerns were not properly addressed. Very bad management of the club in my opinion. I hope that DFC makes serious changes so that other families like ours will not waste their time or money. The irony of this review is that I hadn't even thought about posting one but I was sent an email by a person in the organization that apparently had no idea of the true situation. I was asked to post, " a positive review on YELP and encourage other families to as well!" In all honesty, I would not encourage anyone to join the club after my experience. read more
