Michelle and her team were very sensitive to our needs and catered to what we asked with professionalism and compassion. In short she and her team are truly good people. My goal was not to make a ton of money but more to get items cleared out with the help of experts so that it could be a start to what I had to get done, items could go to good use and of course a little extra money is always helpful but again not my number one goal. Michelle understood this completely and delivered well. Did they sell everything? No, but that was never expected. It is important to know that estate sales will make a huge effort to sell a lot and Michelle and her team did just that. They greatly helped me and sold a lot. When I received my item SEVERELY damaged, Surf City Shopping refused to do anything about it, claimed there was no way that I could have received it in pieces (almost sounded like they were saying that I broke the item myself), and altogether started ignoring my requests. I only contacted them in a professional manner and stated that I expected something to be done because of the condition that my item was in when I opened it. Considering I purchased the item with a "Like New" description. Upon review by the USPS, it was assessed that the item was shipped improperly. I had to go through Paypal to get anything done about this, but the seller continued to fight giving me a refund or doing anything to make the situation right. When I returned the item to the store like Paypal required me to do, they refused my return and I have now wasted the shipping costs again because they are being spiteful. This situation has not been handled correctly by this business and I am only trying to keep this from happening to someone else. The individual that I dealt with throughout this process is highly unprofessional and has been rather rude ever since I got the package. NO apology was ever given about the item or the service I have received either. So unless you want to purchase something from a business that will end up getting to you damaged and having to deal with their terrible customer service, I would not recommend purchasing anything from them via internet.

Unfortunately, my recent sellers chose a company on their own, and in my opinion, they were greatly taken advantage of. The experience reminded me just how exceptional Phil and his team at Downsizing Solutions are. Phil is, without question, one of the best estate sale professionals I've ever worked with. To give some perspective, the company my sellers used spent only three days going through the home, while Phil typically dedicates two to three weeks to carefully sort, organize, and price everything so each item is displayed and visible. This particular home was filled with high-end items, many brand new and countless tools and collectibles stored in every room and closet. The other company didn't set up enough display tables, leaving many valuable items unseen and underpriced. In contrast, Phil and his team use every available space, even setting up tables in the backyard if needed, ensuring that everything is visible and well-presented. Phil consistently draws large crowds, often with hundreds of people lined up before the sale even opens, and his sales generate strong returns for sellers. He also goes above and beyond after the sale, working closely with clients to organize donations and provide documentation for tax write-offs. It's difficult to see clients taken advantage of, especially when they simply didn't know the difference in quality and professionalism among estate sale companies. I did recommend Phil, but they chose someone who was personally connected to the deceased. It was a hard lesson learned, and I want to make sure others don't have the same experience. Upon receiving the item, it were significantly more damaged than pictured or described. The metal lamp poles were very bent and no longer able to be adjusted. The marble base also had some small chips that weren't pictured or mentioned. I reached out to the auction company to see if anything could be done, and they said I could return the item to LA. I asked if they could help with return shipping and they just ghosted me. Fortunately I was able to source new parts, but it added significantly to the cost. Overall pretty poor experience, and would generally not recommend.
