I needed to have our three dogs groomed, normally I have a person that comes to the house and does it but was out of town, I was hesitant because we have 2 dobies and a yellow lad and was concerned about taking them out of the familiar surroundings. The staff and team at this establishment went above and beyond to do a very good job and to communicate problems areas of our puppies. They were patient and accommodating to a first time client. I boarded my small dog at the Collar Club Waldo this week and placed her in an apartment suite. I checked the camera on night one at 7pm, I noticed she was sleeping in her apartment on the concrete floor because she did not receive bedding. This is totally different from what was advertised online. I called and sent 2 emails looking for an explanation, but couldn't reach anyone. I received a response the next day saying they didn't know why she didn't receive bedding, but they would provide some for the rest of her stay. $58 for her to sleep on the CONCRETE FLOOR. read more

My pups are supppper high energy, we appreciate the larger space/outdoor space & the staff allowing pups to release that stored energy instead of discouraging it! We took my puppy there for day play twice and he was dragged around by his neck collar, and lifted up/held off the ground by just his neck collar. I have screen recording of this incident (before they did it too -- unwarranted). I won't be bringing him back after seeing it .. I just wonder what I didn't see. I'm so grateful I found The Collar Club after moving back to KC in 2021. My dog Zoey can be anxious and anti-social, but The Collar Club staff does its best to accommodate her in day play, boarding and grooming. The breakdown of areas based on energy just makes sense to me, as size doesn't always determine the needs of a dog. Zoey has been moved to "slow" and "low" energy when needed, and I really appreciate that the staff try to make it the best experience for every dog during stressful times away from home. This is further helped by the options they offer for boarding -- I love the window lofts for little Zoey. Additionally, the grooming staff adore Zoey and always give her extra love when she's in the salon. They have been excellent in helping me keep up her nail trims and also grooming her wiry hair that can get tangled and scraggly. It's been so convenient to schedule a quick nail trim or tack a bath onto the end of an extended stay before going home. read more

Collar club has at least two attendants and often 3 in with the dogs. This is not what I've experienced at other places where it's only one. Their staff is engaged and actually listens and responds. Also not what I found at the other place I was taking my dog. And when my dog gets overwhelmed by all the dogs rushing him, they will help sooth him and help him get out and mingle more. I hope they can keep up the great customer service. A lot of animal care businesses don't understand that we are their main customer. It's our baby we're leaving in their care and we want to feel like they care an are compassionate to the dogs needs. I feel this at this place. read more

This place is awesome and does "day play" right. I wish I would've found them sooner. My 1 year old GSD mix used to put up a major fuss at the previous daycare and come back rather energetic. Collar club is Kobe's (fur baby) one and only place to play with his friends. He is so excited to hang out with his crew while being pampered by the clubs staff who can't stop petting him. I know because I watch the complimentary live video fee. I recommend the thunder suites, sound insulated rooms allowing peace and quiet for Kobe's naps or overnight stays. read more

I can't say enough good things about The Collar Club. Their facility is very clean and their staff is very well trained. I watch my dog on the doggie cam and there are always 3-4 staff members in the dog area at all times to tend to the dogs, break up quarrels, etc. They're a personal bunch of people. After my dog had been there only ONE time, the staff already knew her name when I called in to ask a question about her next stay. They even send me pictures while I'm at work of my pup playing with the other dogs. They make it incredibly easy to book through their online portal. One of the things I love most about The Collar Club is their 24/7 drop off/pick up. I work in healthcare and often have to be at work by 6am so I love that I can drop her off before work. We have been to many daycares in town, and I can tell you Collar Club is far beyond the rest. We have been going to Collar Club since they opened. My Dane has anxiety and a health condition. Connor and Alan went out of their way to make sure Lily and I both felt like their facility was for us. They knew that I'm a hard customer to please and my Dane is my whole world. Lily has blossomed playing there for daycare and I feel comfortable letting her board there. They give her medications on schedule, and I can see her tail wagging the whole weekend on the cameras. 5 stars are not enough. read more

My dog had never been to a daycare before and was very nervous. I watched the dog camera for over 2 hours and she was clearly very scared, sitting in a corner alone and not once did the staff member try to comfort her or get her to play. Not only that but he was very rough with her and other dogs, kneeing some of them when they jumped up to see out of the window. The dogs were scared of him and would immediately lay down so he couldn't herd them or knee them. I will never take my dog here again. read more

I am very thankful to have found a daycare that is good with my 9 month exuberant puppy. He has been to other daycares and when he would get overexcited and barky they would usually put him in isolation for the rest of the day. However, the attendants Michael and Lilia at Collar Club were great controlling my puppy's overexcited behavior and giving him the corrections he needed to learn what is acceptable play behavior. He would be put in time out if he acted up but would be allowed back in to play and they worked with him several times throughout the day. Lived in KC for 10 years, taken my pups to 5 or 6 different highly rated places. This place is by far the best dog day care & boarding. Daycare - Exhausted after every trip, which I didn't think was normal at first, but I realized it's because they actually play with the dogs all day. He also started losing his mind when we got close and whining when we would leave, which was a first. Boarding - The apartments are great because they have individual cameras for the crazy dog owners like myself. The 24 hour drop off/pick up is probably the most convenient thing in the world and it didn't cost any extra. That alone was a game changer for me and my schedule. Honestly, I watched him on all the cameras for the first week, but I stopped afterwards because he is so happy to go there and never wants to leave. My dog loves the Collar Club. The staff is very friendly and I think the do really care about the dogs. Having said that, I've had a couple instances now from other dogs rough play. I boarded my dog there recently while I was out of town. I received a call that my dog had been in a "scuffle" and his paw was severely cut. They assured me he wasn't attacked. Apparently, he was bleeding, so they removed him from the play area and put him in the boarding area. They said the cut was very deep, but insisted they would not take him to the vet for help. They cleaned the wound. But, after one day they took the bandage off claiming it's better for the wound to dry out rather than be covered. When i picked up my dog 2 days later, he was in pain and could only walk with on 3 legs. I took him to the vet a day later and his paw was infected. He has to be on meds for a while, he can hardly walk. It could be weeks until he can walk normally again. It's will cost several hundred dollars in vet bills now. This could have all been prevented if they gave my dog proper medical care by a vet. I just think people should know this so they don't have to go through what my pup and I have to. read more

Very professional and a great environment! The dogs are well managed and allow for a fun play time. The suites are great and they even have soundproof thunder suites for the pups who don't do well on stormy nights. Staff are trained in first aid and dog CPR as well as basic training.
