This review is strictly to recognize and employee who every time I shop at J. Crew does not disappoint! I came here today for some holiday shopping, I was greeted and assisted by Christina G. As she was helping me I realized she helped me once before and provided the same excellent customer service! I told myself to make sure I wrote a review today because great customer service is hard to come by! Especially on two separate occasions! She is very patient and helpful, gave me some great feedback and is so genuine. During the holiday season helping customers can be exhausting and overwhelming, but Christina being attentive in her role is just a clear indicator it's who she is naturally. I received the best service today at J Crew Factory-Hastings Ranch-Pasadena. Both Matthew, the sales associate with whom I spent the most time and also later, as I was leaving, Jayme. I'm used to styling clothing which I've done for many decades, but it was great that Matthew had such a high knowledge of decades of fashion history until he understood the fashion vibes that I was going for. Plus, whatever clothing pieces that I needed in certain sizes, he checked to see if they were available. I had forgotten about J.Crew Factory since I usually go to the regular J.Crew in Old Town. But, it has been those current commercials which are popping up on Youtube and the clothes presented which have gotten my attention. Those styles are one of my various fashion vibes that I am going for this fall/winter. My shopping experience was very refreshing and reminded me of old school shopping experiences from many decades ago, back when I was a child in the nineteen sixties and onward and which were customary in this city. I wish those types of shopping experiences would return across the board. But, today was a nice taste of the past with sales associates who were very fashion history knowledgeable. This was hands down the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a retail clothing store. I went in to return 2 items from a $800 online order and to exchange one item for a different color. Pretty straight forward. The woman (I believe the daytime manager / older / short / Pacific Islander maybe?) was so incredibly rude at every turn. I asked her if they had any stock of the blue color in the same size suit pants I was returning. I needed another color because the blazer I was returning didn't work out, so I wanted to match the slacks with another blazer I purchased from them previously. Hence the need for a different color. Simple enough right? Well, this request seemed to be akin to me asking her to pick me up from LAX on a Sunday morning. It was ridiculous. First she responded as if I was being vague. "Blue?" she barked rudely. "Just... any shade of Blue?" As if i'm supposed to know the exact color code of the blue slacks they carry. "Yes." I responded. "Do you have any in... blue?" She looked at me as though I had just insulted her. This was 2pm on a Tuesday (oct. 18). There were maybe 2 other customers in store and at least 2 other staffers working behind the counter. Yet looking up an item in stock was proving to be too much of a burden. So instead she begrudgingly directed me towards the area where the slacks are displayed and walked away. If she can't look up an item thats in stock, then ok, not a big deal, but the attitude she gave me was so uncalled for. I have no idea where all of the negativity was coming from. 5 minutes later, back at the register, when I attempted to exchange the new color slacks for the old ones, she snapped at me about how an exchange can only be done if it's the... "exact same item and exact same color. The only variance in an exchange could be a size!!!" Ok, this is news to me. Ive made dozens of exchanges in my lifetime, but not a big deal. But her attitude about it was down right hostile. Her younger coworker seemed embarrassed by how rude she treated me so he jumped in to finish my purchase. Thank goodness for him. Im honestly shocked J crew lets her represent them. I've been a J crew customer for 20 years, im a rewards member and a very regular customer. The one thing that has kept me going back is the customer service, which used to be great, then dropped to adequate, and today was just down right awful. Ive heard its hard to find good employees in 2023, but her level of disdain was simply off the charts. I absolutely will be avoiding this J crew factory store. And I think im ready to start branching out to other brands that care a bit more about their employees putting a kind foot forward. read more

I love their constant change in selection of merchandise for really good prices. I have always been a fan of JCrew and was so excited when a JCrew Factory opened up near me. They do not always have a good selection but the end of the season sales are the time to go to this store. Also, a huge plus is most of these items you purchase from the website are final sales, which shoppers dislike, but in the store you can return the items full refund according to their refund policies. I knocked one star down because their staff is not always friendly... but not rude either. read more

Ok selection of everything however the sales people here are not friendly and accommodating. I've been in twice recently and both times was ignored like I wasn't there. I needed size help and ended up helping myself out because no one bothered to come over. Really not good customer service at all. I've never been treated so rudely in a store as today. Yesterday, I purchased a blazer from the J.Crew Factory in Pasadena. I purchased it with my own money, but I used my mom's email with the company (We often share accounts for places so we can use the points we earn from purchases). I was told at cash wrap that she had $100 in rewards points, but I declined to use it since I didn't know if she wanted to use it for a future purchase. Upon returning home, she said I should have used it, and we agreed that we would return the next day so I could get my discount. (I'm a law student, so I like to save money where I can). Today we returned, and while she was off to the side looking at shirts I went to the register to take care of the points/return. I clearly explained to Yadira C. at register 2 that I had purchased the blazer yesterday under my mom's email account, and that we would like to return it and apply the points if possible. (Mind you I used to work for Madewell, which J.Crew is the parent company of, for several years, so I am always mindful to be polite to other retail workers and I am very familiar with J.Crew company policies.) Immediately, Yadira was extremely rude to me and responded in a snarky tone. She repeated my request in this tone and demanded that I show a receipt. At this point, my mom walked up to the register and I gestured to her and asked if she could pull up the receipt on her email. However, as a former J.Crew employee, I know it is possible to pull up this information once they log into our profile. My mom also acknowledged that it was okay for me to use her points. Yadira would not make eye contact with me at all during this point in the interaction. Yadira then turned back to me and asked how I even purchased the blazer, rudely demanding if I used cash for the purchase. We replied that I used a card, which I was holding out ready to insert it into the machine. The online receipt also indicates that a debit card was used, and she could have easily confirmed that my name and card number match the information. After giving more attitude, I finally returned the blazer and got $50 in points applied to the purchased. At that point, both my mom and I were uncomfortable and not even going to bring up that we had been told a different number the day before. The tone and language directed towards me would have made you think I was trying to steal the blazer or participate in some scam. Even if I had purchased the blazer in cash, there was no reason for Yadira to be that rude towards a customer. I have been a loyal customer (and employee) of the J.Crew company for years, and this was a very disappointing experience to say the least. I go to this location all the time since they have great business casual clothes options, but this entire experience has made me hesitant to return. read more

I purchased a dark green velvet blazer two days ago. The salesperson checked the back for my size and I was so happy they had it available, I purchased it and left. When I got home to hang the blazer, I noticed that the sleeves and back were very wrinkled; probably was not ready for the floor. I went back to the store tonight to ask if I could exchange the jacket for the same item, but less wrinkly as I have read that when de-wrinkling velvet, you have to be careful and cannot put an iron directly on it. The salesperson, Mimi, told me that it needed to be steamed and she did it for me and I am very, very grateful! I shopped in the store while she steamed the jacket and it took her about 20 minutes or less to present me with the same jacket, without any wrinkles to be found. The blazer looks flawless, elegant, and beautiful! She then put it in a garment bag. I am super impressed with the customer service that I received from Mimi! Thank you very much for all your help!
