We are so incredibly thankful to have Dr. Joe Fritzky and his wonderful office caring for our boys. My sons have a ten-year age gap, and I truly appreciate how Dr. Fritsky is able to connect with and provide excellent care for both of them at such different stages and ages. The office staff has always gone above and beyond to accommodate our family. They consistently do their best to fit us in when we need an appointment and are incredibly understanding and flexible when it comes to working around my schedule. Dr. Fritzky is kind, understanding, and punctual, and I especially appreciate that he always takes the time to return my calls and address any concerns I may have. I also can't say enough wonderful things about the supporting staff, especially Isabel. They are always so kind, patient, and compassionate, and they truly make every visit a positive experience. Isabel, in particular, has always been incredibly helpful and understanding, and I am so grateful for the care and kindness she shows our family. Having a team that treats you with such warmth and patience makes all the difference. It is such a comfort knowing that my children are in the hands of a doctor who genuinely cares about them and our family. We have always felt heard, respected, and well cared for. Absolutely terrible. My first visit I loved them. The medical assistant was super nice and the Melissa Morgan was very nice. But as I started going often I noticed that Mary would always offer me things where as the other medical assistants wouldn't. For example, if your child was drinking formula she'd bring you an extra box or she'd give you extra samples of new items and she would give you a diaper bag. I received a diaper bag at my 9 month appointment when I should have received it at my 1st appointment. One medical assistant in particular is always trying to push certain procedures. Another one Jenny never has a properly fitting mask. We've been in a pandemic for over 2 years now and you are sick kids all day. I've never seen her wash her hands or Purell. My son was having an allergic reaction and I wanted to make an appointment and Melissa Morgan refused to see him but the next day it was getting worse so I saw Barbara. But Jenny was the medical assistant and tried to convince me it was eczema. Barbara is nice but she's seems like she's always in a rush and she contradicts everything she says. Melissa is very nice but she seems like she reads everything out of textbook and is very robotic and if you ask her anything outside of what she rehearsed she doesn't know the answers. I called for an appointment because my child had 102.7 fever and they wanted me to wait 48 hours. I called another pediatrician and they took me right away and he had an ear infection. I'm so glad I didn't listen to them or else My child would be suffering for two days. read more

We've been on the fence about changing pediatricians for some time and today's visit made our decision for us. We brought in our 4 day old little boy in for his first check up. As parents know, these first few days/weeks/months are crucial and every little aspect is measured (head size, weight, skin color, etc). Any deviation from what is considered 'normal' will change how the doctor tells the parent(s) on how to take care of the child and, depending on the circumstances, could add a load of stress to the already stressed parents. When our son was placed on the scale, the scale read "7.78lbs", to which the nurse wrote down on the sheet for the doctor "7lbs 7 oz". I mentioned to the nurse there may be a slight mistake, as 7.7lbs does not mean 7lbs 7oz. She sort of ignored it and I just figured I would mention it to the doctor instead. Once the doctor completed her exam, I mentioned it to her and explained my position. She sort of agreed and went to get a staff member to verify. A 3rd staff member came in (Mary) who agreed with the initial measurement, that "7.78lbs" on the scale is "7lb 7oz". She even gave an example that she had just measured a child that read "9.12" on the scale and she called it "9lbs 12oz". I knew in my heart of hearts that I was correct and the staff wasn't, so when I arrived home, I took out the scale I use to weigh packages (I work in distribution) to do it myself. After ensuring the scale was set properly (pounds and ounces) and tared, I weighed my son and found that he in fact weighs 7lbs 12.5oz, not 7lbs 7oz. I called the pediatrician and happened to speak with Mary, the staff member who told me 9.12lbs is 9lbs 12oz, to tell them of my findings and to correct their notes (which is technically correct at 7.7lbs, but not 7lbs 7oz). She replied "that's not what we got when he was here, so we will be keeping the weight we recorded of 7lbs 7oz". As I said this could seriously change the course of a parent's care for their child. Luckily I have the wherewithal to ask questions and do my own "checking into". However, I am sure not many parents do this. I couldn't imagine having a premature baby and having the nurse weigh him improperly because they couldn't read a scale. With the way they do it at this office, if a premature baby shows a weight on the scale of "5.15", that child will be recorded as "5lbs 15oz" (almost 6lbs), when in fact that child is barely over 5lbs. That is a HUGE difference in a very critical time of a baby's life. I wrote this review so parents that use this office will be aware of this issue. I can't even begin to think about how many parents were given incorrect information that may (or may not) have impacted their or their child's life in these early days. Reading a scale properly and knowing how to equate decimals to poundage should have been taught to these staff members, but it seems to have not. All of these details are so very important at this early stage that this simply cannot be overlooked and corrected. I understand a baby loses some weight in the first few days/week of their life - this isn't about that, this is about reading a scale properly. We will be looking for a new pediatrician immediately. read more

I am so disappointed in how this practice has ended up. Dr. Guerrier and Dr. Gottlieb were wonderful but ever since they left this practice treats these children as if they are just a number. Dr. Morgan is the worst! my daughter has been sick for 3 months with a chronic cough. I have been in and out of this office at least 6 times in the last 3 month and have receIves 6 different diagnosis. Dr. Morgan retuned my call today after my daughter took a turn for the worst and stated she had to hang up because she had sick patients in the waiting room and I was taking up her time . I am so disgusted with this office. Will be looking for a new pediatrician! read more

My children have been going there for years, & we were happy, but unfortunately things are not the same. This place is lacking the compassion it had. I feel this place has turned into a revolving door/business- in the sense that they want to charge you for EVERYTHING!!! I'm surprised they are not charging for scheduling appointments. A lot of mistakes have been made, & you have to be on top of everything they do because unfortunately they are in way over the head with patients. I will be looking for another pediatrician. Some complaints: mixing patients records, wrong diagnosis that cause ER visits and a specialist visit, which could of easily been avoided if sinuses were checked. read more

GREAT but be SURE to see the DOCTORS!! Wonderful place if you see the right people... SEE THE DOCTORS!! The nurse practitioner misdiagnosed my child, and did not start her on any treatment (her issue closely resembled an infection). My daughter's issue got worse, to where we had to bring her back several days later to see one of the Drs. Both the doctor and technician asked what meds my daughter was on from the last visit... she was not given anything at that visit!! Turns out the nurse misdiagnosed my daughter, could have put her on preventative antibiotics, just in case. I would have been TOTALLY FINE if the nurse said, here's what I think is wrong, let's start her on meds JUST IN CASE. The same nurse also "forgot" to give my daughter one of her vaccines at 2 weeks old. When we brought her in for her 2mo, the dr asked about her 2 week vaccine.. which she was not given! I will NOT see the nurse practitioner again!!! On the other side -- Drs Guerra and Gottlieb are FANTASTIC!! I do not have much experience with the other two doctors in the practice. This is the reason we still go here!! They always take the time to answer questions (even if after hours!), they are VERY compassionate and always go the extra mile. Both of my kids have seen Dr. Morgan and Dr. Joe, they're great. Can't say enough nice things about them. I agree with the other reviews, the NP (Barbara) is rude and unfriendly. She's also the lactation person, so fair warning. She was very rough trying to get my newborn to latch (I decided to stick with pumping rather than put us both through that again). The office is convenient and can usually fit in a sick visit on one day notice. The front desk people can be very rude and Mary is unusual, but the rest of the RNs are very nice. A critique for the office: get a potty top for kids. A pediatrician with no step stool or potty top on the toilet... why? your tiny patients need to go to the bathroom sometimes and maybe their moms don't want to squat and try to keep their two year old butts from falling into a public toilet. read more

I have to agree with the other reviews on here - make sure to see the doctors, as the nurse practitioner is not the friendliest. The office staff could be nicer, but I'm not really there to see them. If you engage them, they will be pleasant and give stickers to your child. I have seen Dr. Guerra and Dr. Gelman so far and they are wonderful. They have a thorough understanding of pediatric medicine and different parenting techniques. I should note that this is important because I went to another practice where they were judgmental and terrible if you did not fit into their "one-size-fits-all" idea. My child loved both of them. More positive things: You rarely have a wait. If you're a new mom, they offer breastfeeding support, which i think is very important. The office is very clean and modern. They have a diaper genie and allow you to dispose of all diapers in there (again, last place I went made me take poo diapers out with me... no lie) All in all, I definitely recommend. read more

As first time mother I was very worried about choosing the right doctor for my son, and I must say Dr. Guerra and Dr. Gelman are AMAZING. They take the time to answer all my questions (I have a LOT). They always explain where my son should be developmentally, nutrition, and all vaccines he's getting and why. The on call is great they call back very quickly and provided the necessary assistance. I've never has to wait for more than 5 minutes to see the doctors and the rooms are clean and ample. Dr. Guerra has given me the assurance I needed in this new stage in my life and my child loved going there. read more

Great Doctors. We have been going here since our first child was born 15 years ago. Dr. Guerra, Dr. Gottlieb, and Gelman are awesome. The office staff are simply rude, lack manners, and have no respect for their customers time. It's all about them! If you can get by the office staff, the doctors are great. Too many issues with this place to list. Initially placed a negative review and was contacted by the owner/doctor to give them another chance which I did. The subsequent visits were equally as disappointing not just with the staff but the doctors I interacted with as well. We initially went here for the proximity even after reading the mediocre reviews, we have found a better place. read more

Worst practice ever being going there for more then 10 years, I can't believe I have 2 kids sick and they couldn't squeeze not even 1 and there excuse was because they are only working half day due to holiday situation, this people has no heart whatsoever, the only real Dr in this practice is Dr Julio Guerra, the other staff are very rude and not helpful at all, I had a really bad experience all this years I have no idea why I kept going there. read more

I agree with all of the reviews, i am thinking about switching because of one of the NPs in the office she us rude and mean, when my little one was scared of the strep test she told her lets go little girl i dont have all day i have other patients to see cant waste all my time in here.... talk about no patience, people like that should not work in a pediatrics office. Ughhh. Doctors seem great but still undecided of what I should do. I dont want to tell the women off lol. My little one cried all the way home and said those people were very mean to her. read more

I have been going to Dr Gelman for about 13 years now. Absolutely love her as a pediatrician and she has always cared for my children very well. The problem now is the staff. My youngest is 18 - they would not sign off on her vaccination records unless she went for another well visit. Last checkup was 14 months ago, last visit to the office was 3 months ago. Why do you need another checkup in order to sign off on what you have done for the past 13 years?? I'm not looking for anything other than a record of what you have done. Then I get a printout to bring to her adult doctor to sign off on, and not only does she have one vaccine listed as being received 19 years before she was born, but she is completely missing the third dose of another vaccine. Had I not contacted the school to get the records from her original pediatrician that were used to register her for kindergarden, her new adult physician would have started giving her the 3 dose series all over again!! The office staff is incredibly rude and they seem to make up their own rules as they go. read more

Dr Gelman, Dr Shteynberg and Dr Guerra are the greatest. Do not see the nurse practitioner. She isn't the friendliest, or nicest, and she's misdiagnosed my daughter as well as my friends' and neighbor's kids. Do not go to the Hackettstown office if you can help it. The receptionist there is the rudest individual you'll come across. I agree, however, that the Randolph office staff could also be a little more welcoming when you go there. The second I arrive for my kids' appointments, they always greet me with a "That'll be $25!" (my copay) before even saying "hello" ("if" they even say hello!!! It all depends on what kind of mood they're in that day!) They could use a lesson in hospitality. Seems like they've been trained to collect the money first and not even worry about making customers feel welcome. read more

I tell everyone I meet who is looking for a physician to NEVER go there! It is INSANE to me that this type of mistake could have been made by a physician and I wouldn't trust them!!! I have to say the doctors are fantastic especially Gelman. The office is clean and inviting. The doctors do run late sometimes which is annoying. But the staff is truly horrible, they are the most unfriendly group I have ever meet. They never greet you with a smile and rarely look up at you. There not even friendly with the kids which is pathetic. I have talked to other parent's and they all feel the same way. If I were those doctors I would honestly fire every single one of there staff or give them attitude adjustment. If it wasn't for the doctors I would had left this practice along time ago. read more

I am giving 5 stars to Dr. Guerra. He has been my pediatrician for about 20 years seeing all 3 of my children (now ages 23, 22 & 15). I will always remember how he came running in when he found out my newborn daughter wound up in the NICU (15 years ago). Even though that was out of his territory at the time, he made sure he was kept up to date on everything going on with her. To-date, he remembers that day as it was yesterday and still tends to her today. It breaks my heart to see them go. As I am happy for their next chapter, I feel like I'm losing a family member. Hopefully he can get Dr. Gelman up to speed because she is the only other Doctor in that office that I will let see my daughter. I feel the office has changed throughout the years. I do not get that friendly, family feeling with the new personnel as I have in the past. Mazel tov Doctors Guerra and Gottleib. You will be missed. read more

The Drs are great, unfortunately the admin staff can't handle basic filing. They always loose my forms, don't call back when they say they will, "schedule" appointments that disappear and have wasted a lot of my time. read more

While Dr. Guerra, Dr. Gottlieb, and Dr. Gelman are fantastic, the rest of the practice is terrible. The staff miss handles phone calls and miss places documents. My son was misdiagnosed and only received proper care from going to an Urgent Care Facility. If you can make your well visit appointment with your preferred doctor well in advance, then you are fine. Dr. Gelman is always so friendly and accommodating and answers all of our questions. But when it comes time for sick visits or emergency situations, we do NOT recommend. read more
