I finally asked to speak with the owner (grandma) who didn't seem to take it seriously at all. Customers were shocked and gossiping about it. As a city-kid, I affectionately call this area the "boonies" as I ponder it's location less than 90 miles from the border of North Dakota! One of the simple summer pleasures in life up here in the northern plains is what I consider the world's best sweet corn. It is picked fresh daily at the local farms and is sold out of the beds of mid-century, medium-duty pickup trucks. Hoffman's sells their sweet corn out of a green, late 1940s REO truck at the corner of Nokomis and 3rd Ave. You can't miss it! The stand was managed today by an affable 20-something female college student who personified this state's "Minnesota-nice" reputation. I purchased two dozen ears and qualified for a 3rd dozen free...so we'll be happily enjoying sweet corn all week! When vacationing in the area, Hoffman's can't be beat for some of the very best sun-sweetened Minnesota corn-on-the-cob that I've ever had. Five stars down to the last kernel.

We booked a wedding to be catered (and secured the date with a deposit)…read more We received the catering menu options by email - 2 attachments were email showing options and pricing. When we contacted both the catering manager and the owner, to discuss the details of the food we wanted, we were told one of the menus they provided was not an option. (The menu that we wanted to use). The owner was extremely unprofessional. She openly admitted she had made a mistake by sending the menu and "learned her lesson". When I then asked about using my deposit toward salads for the wedding, grooms supper or if I could use it for a future graduation party, I was rudely told NO. AND she would not reimburse my deposit, even tho she admitted that she was at fault. They handled this situation unprofessionally and in a rude manner. I would never trust Tutti Fruitti for a catering event.
