I love purchasing HBCU paraphernalia from Collegiate Luxe. They have an extensive selection in store and online. Since I was visiting Baltimore I had to stop in to see what was in stock! They have a massive selection and a large majority of HBCUs are represented. Please know that some schools have better selections than others. After finishing my Alma mater I was able to find something to purchase. They have extended sizes! I am tall and need larger sizes to support arm length. The associated on duty was not memorable but she wasn't horrible. Maybe she was bored and had other things on her mind t the time I was in store. If I could leave a -5 I would. I placed my order with the understanding that I was paying for the 4-5 business day delivery option on October 21st. I was cutting it close, but I was hoping to wear it to a game on October 30th. On October 27th I emailed requesting an update since I had not received any shipping information and never received a response. I waited until November 9th before emailing again because I kinda forgot about it, but this time I requested a refund in place of disputing the charges. I received a text response the same day and a refund for the merchandise I never received, but not for the shipping. When I replied to the text asking about the shipping they went quiet again. The employee was profiling the entire time (I am AA & so was the employee). Not once did she greet us nor ask if help was needed. She continuously walked back and forth while only two people (myself and my shopping buddy) were in the store. She paced with three shirts pretending to be working. She then stopped when more customers came in (caucasians) but did not profile them. Instead she let them shop freely and not once moved. Didn't like the service whatsoever. My actual review to collegiate luxe - As per my phone call to you on 2/23/26 and your texted reply to me on the same day - you forgot to ship my 2/12/26 order and would send it THAT DAY (2/23). I checked back the next day(2/24) and called only to be told by the same person that management would reach out to me by text (because you all don't reply by phone call) to tell me that an item was not available and that options would be offered, but that the order would arrive by the weekend (2/27-3/2). Knowing that was ANOTHER LIE, it was then that I requested a FULL REFUND as my order was not only forgotten, but I was LIED to. You stated that I had to send you a written request by text request for a refund. Shortly thereafter, you sent me a screenshot depicting a chargeback - which NEVER CAME. I then checked my order page on your website for my refund/chargeback and it showed the order "On its way : Feb 24 - - TWELVE DAYS after order was confirmed, 1 day after I reached out and was told it was forgotten and would be mailed, but also 1 day after you confirmed a chargeback. My experience with this company was the absolute worst. I placed an order on Oct 10th for two sweatshirts. I paid for expedited shipping bc I wanted to make sure that I receive them by Oct 27th. Easy right? Wrong. I received my 1st item (now why did I only receive one is beyond me) and it was the wrong size. Y'all, I cant make this up. I immediately tried to contact the company via email twice and received no response. I called the company and a guy (Kevin) answered the phone. I informed him on my situation about receiving the wrong item AND not receiving the additional sweatshirt. He stated that they would refund the expedited shipping costs, the sweatshirt amount that I never received and resend one of the sweatshirts in the correct size . He stated that I would receive it no later than Oct 27th in time for my event on Oct 28th. He told me to send him a text with my order number and description of the issue and we would communicate via text. After sending the text, I never received any sort of response back. So I sent a follow up text. Guess who still didn't receive a response? Me. Wanna know what happened next? I received the sweatshirt in the correct size on Oct 30th and have yet to hear back from the company! For anyone reading this, please go with another vendor if you are needing this for an event. I recommend because it's the only HBCU store in maryland I am aware of that carries most HBCU gear including NCCU. It's right on the Baltimore Harbor with access to close parking garages. I like their merchandise. Good quality and value. Sweatshirts are expensive. Cashier was nice. He was the only staff member in the BUSY store! He was pleasant and very knowledgable of where and when they will be on campus. He recommended ordering online since they didnt not have many sizes available. Note: check other reviews before purchasing online. I was able to try-on sizes from other school merch to order to determine the size I need when they restock. The low rating is for disorganization with stock boxes EVERYWHERE and lack of help with only 1 employee during a busy homecoming season. read more

Quality items....TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I purchased a sweatshirt at the large homecoming game and loved it so I went online to purchase more. I was charged for the entire order (over $300) but only received one item. The order tracking shows that the other item was never shipped. I contacted the merchant via phone and email for over a month with no answer trying to get the other item. It is not until my bank got involved that I received a response. I decided to return what I received for a full refund. I mailed the item back with a delivery receipt. Collegiate Luxe received the item and still didn't process the refund saying that my bank would not let them. Completely false. So again my bank had to refund the money when the Collegiate Luxed would not. The customer service number goes to a man in the shipping department that is snippy and doesn't have any answers. The email and voicemail is not regularly checked which is why I have messages that went unanswered for 45 days prior to my bank intervening. This entire process is enough to make me never order again and warn others to beware. read more

My first order is not good at all! I ordered the NCCU Eagles Sport Jacket in Unisex in 3XL for my husband on January 7, 2025. After a few days of seeing the shipping que still in the same place as order placed, I decided to call after sending many messages and texts to the number listed. The number rand to a cell phone and I spoke with Kevin in shipping on January 15th. He acted as though there were many messages and orders to get through and that he had to contact customers to clear orders out. I gave him my order number and the ite. He was just rambling. He said that the order would be expedited in 2 day shipping and kept apologizing, i told him that it was unacceptable to not respond to customers. After 2 days, I called back (twice today - January 17th. He said that he would check on it and call me back. I had threatened to cancel the order. He had the wrong school and kept talking before I could get my concern out about the order. He never called me back. After a few hours, I called him again and expressed my displeasure! I threatened to leave a bad review as I pride myself in patronizing Black businesses. It was highly unacceptable. He was getting scared as to say the call was being recorded and that they make mistakes and that they are few in number and that he would relay this to the manager. I told him of the many similar reviews on Yelp that have the customer service in a bad light. He again says that he will 2 day UPS ship it. After the second call today, I see where the shipping has now been processed for 2 day air to arrive on Tuesday, January 21, 2025. We will see if the order comes through as promised and is indeed correct. If it is not right, I will be calling back and not paying as I set this up in installments to begin in February. This makes NO sense how long it is taking to get a jacket. I am in NC and Maryland is not that far away. No excuse! The jacket should have been here already. The HBCU clothing is high value nice, but the customer service sucks. I am now reluctant to order anything else as this may be my first and last order! While the items being sold here appear to be beautiful, the customer service is HORRIBLE! Tracking information is inconsistent, employees who answer the phone are evasive and uninterested in assisting customers. I placed an order to be delivered in MD at least 10 days before my school's homecoming. Prior to ordering I called the store to confirm that I would be able to receive my items. The employee assured me that I would receive my items in a timely manner. A week after placing my order I hadn't received any tracking information from the company so I contacted them for an update. The employee told me that I would receive a tracking number within a few minutes and that he would call me back. I never received a call so I called the next day and received the same response. The third day I called the employee said that he had no recollection of me inquiring about my order, but he did say that he knew my schools homecoming was this weekend. Products are excellent quality. However, this business MUST get a handle on its operational model, especially for off-site events. Their CIAA tournament presence was highly disorganized. Instead of having a nicely organized booth, items were strewn everywhere as they were digging through cardboard boxes to try to find sizes of items as customers were standing there waiting and waiting. It wasn't clear who was taking the money and who was supposed to be looking for the item. It also wasn't clear if anyone was actually in charge. Subsequent calls to them after the event to try to get additional sizes or place orders have gone unreturned. The guy who answers phone promises to call back but never does. They need a tighter operational model that tracks inventory in real time, identifies when they need to restock, and has an efficient fulfillment process for online orders, returns/exchanges. Seriously the products are wayyy too nice for the purchasing process to be so messy and disorganized. read more
