I had the buffalo fries basket which starts with a hearty base of hand cut fries cooked to perfection (not too greasy), with melted cheese (your choice of shredded or classic nacho) blanketing the fries followed by a generous drizzle of ranch, then finally topped with an avalanche of popcorn buffalo chicken that's crunchy and flavorful. Oh and if that's not enough to make you jump in your car and drive to Arco to eat here, on top of that they give you a side of ranch or fry sauce (your choice!) just so you have enough sauce to dip and add flavor to your food. Tailgaters is the hidden gem of Arco Idaho. Avoid the long wait and mediocre food at other places and come get great service with full flavored food in quantities that could feed a small village. The staff are friendly and Sam the owner is a nice guy. My family had the pirate fries, wings, and finger steaks (steak fingers for those not from around here). Inside they have the typical dive bar things in Idaho like pool tables and casino games. It's a smoking bar and a lot of people smoke openly here so if you don't like the smell of smoke chances are that you won't like it here. They have good prices for drinks including $3 wells, $8 pitchers, $2.50 cans, $2.75 bottles, and $7.50 pizzas per their fridge. This felt like an older person's crowd compared to another place that I frequented in Saint Anthony, but overall it was an okay place.

However, Yelp told me it was a 4.3 star place to eat. I asked if they had any nonalcoholic beers. The waiter brings me a can of beer to show me what it is. When I tell him that I will have it. He says well I'll just take it back and put it in a glass. So they bring me a 16 ounce glass with the beer poured in and it only filled 12 ounces. I ordered the Nacho Mama's Dip. It is a chicken nacho dip. The waiter told me it was a large portion so I am eating that just as my meal. My husband ordered the fish and chips. When you walk in the front door, the bar is right there. Pretty large bar for one to sit and enjoy a drink or a meal. To the right our booths and high tables that line the wall as well as some booths in the middle of the restaurant that make you feel like you are sitting under a gazebo. There are tables and booths on the far wall as well. The tables are cut to appear like a live edge wood top table. The booths sit too low and the table sits high. Even my husband who is 6'2 felt an imbalance with the table to chair. My nachos come out and the cheese sauce is dripping off the side of the dish. It is an absolute mess. The nacho chips are off to the side. The toppings consist of black olives and onions with four pieces of diced tomatoes. Accompanied by a side plastic dish is salsa, sour cream, and guacamole. The guacamole is definitely not homemade. My biggest complaint is the cheese sauce is definitely from a can. The cheese that they did put on the nachos was a slice of cheese that was not even melted. The batter has a odd taste. Perhaps the oil it is fried in? I think I would've been better off going to Culver's and having their fish platter. Although my beYr was in a can, it was very cold. It was truly the best part of my meal. I am so disappointed that yelp led me to this place. This is my warning to others. Stay away.
