Told us that it would be a really long time for food and that they were out of a lot of items. She indicated they were short staffed and only two people in the kitchen cooking. We ignored the recent reviews because we had such a fond memory of our experience here in 2024, but tonight we were kicking ourselves for not listening. The prices went up but the experience and quality went down. We made reservations to be sat inside and we ended up in a renovated sunroom that had horrible ambiance because of the constant tin siding ripping in the wind. My salad that was described to have avocado actually had something that resembled generic guacamole instead. My man's steak was less valuable than Walmart special thrown in the air fryer. For our anniversary we decided to try The Teton House. We made reservations online and it was very easy. We were seated right away. The atmosphere is great. Very casual. We ordered the tomahawk. Elizabeth informed us that they had a 69, 72, and 78 ounce available but if you order it medium or more done it takes about an hour. We chose to call ahead next time to get our order started. My new favorite restaurant. We came here for burgers over the summer and loved them. They were made with good beef and were very juicy. Last month, we went back for a special occasion, and we got the Porterhouse for Two. It was amazing- probably the best steak I've had, and I love me some steak . Until Teton House, I had never had brussel sprouts that I enjoyed, but the steak came with some, and they were actually super tasty. (Very thin and crispy with a bacony flavor.) The atmosphere was nice, not stuffy or pretentious but very comfortable. The owner was also friendly and checked in with us. I would highly recommend this restaurant. read more

Teton House remodeled an old building in Blackfoot and opened what we found to be a well-run reflection of their Menan operation, retaining much of the wood of the original construction and crafting a theme around classic elements and furniture of the last hundred years, then fitting in pool, shuffle and roulette tables for casual fun, along with Space Invaders and a CD carousel. We had dinner once so far and this is what we found - food well crafted and presented knowledgeably, drinks the same; service light in touch but complete; many lovely items incorporated into the decor to keep you exploring and vowing to return. My star rating is based on 1) only one visit, 2) achieves expectations, and 3) very low occupancy throughout our meal. Not only does this place have the saltiest food in the west, but be aware that a server snuck a set tip percentage for parties over six because we had five adults and a BABY. Here's why you should read and believe this review: Eight of us who were on our way to the west side of Yellowstone for a week-long horse pack trip had a superb dinner at the Teton House served by the wonderful Bobbie Jo. But that's not why you should smile and nod about this. The reason you should do that is that the meal I'm describing is about a dinner we had in August 2020 and I'm just now writing the review. So think about it for a minute. This idiot (uh, that would be me:), had one meal at the Teton House almost 2 years ago and it was so great and I remember it so well that I'm now able to give a pretty detailed review of it, and can almost taste the dishes I was served along with remembering who our server was, all because the experience made such a huge impression on me. Back then their 16 oz ribeye (perfectly grilled to med rare) was served along with Brussels sprout leaves, scalloped potatoes and an excellent house salad with homemade blue cheese dressing, and all for $30. Now I'm sure that the price has gone up, but to have been able to serve that incredible meal where everything was as good as it could have been for that unbelievably low price was amazing. Bottom line: I'm so glad to be able finally to pay that restaurant (and Bobbie Jo:) the proper respect they deserved and to recognize them for providing to a group of hungry tourists a superb meal which obviously made a lasting impression. I had heard so many good things about this place, but I was super disappointed. I ordered the surf and turf which comes with a rib eye and bacon wrapped shrimp. The rib eye was full of gristle and tough, but the worst part was they put a sweet, sticky sauce on top. I am a purist when it comes to steak and only like seasoning, no sauce. The sweet sauce tasted almost like maple syrup and made me feel ill. The shrimp also has the sweet sauce, so I was disappointed with it too. So sad! The fried Brussels sprout leaves were burnt, crispy, and tasted of oil- so not good. The bread it came with was salty, dry, and soaked with oil it seemed instead of butter. It was all a greasy, gristly mess for my dinner. The only things I liked were the soup at the start- a salmon corn chowder that was thick, creamy, and loaded with bacon, fish, potatoes and veggies. I absolutely loved it! The potatoes were creamy and cooked perfectly, but a little greasy but that was more because of the cheese and expected. I was told the sweet Thai chili sauce was supposed to only be on the bacon wrapped shrimp, but they put the shrimp and sauce on top of my steak. :( $50 of disappointment. Our server was nice and gave me a small discount, which helped a bit, but I hope they will put the shrimp and sweet sauce on the side from now on. If I come back, I will say no sauce on the steak for sure. I think I will give it one more chance, but today was not a great experience. read more

We're new to southeast Idaho and heard good things about Teton House. We decided to go the DAY BEFORE Valentine's Day and arrived at 4:30. When we walked in, there was one couple in the restaurant. The employee we were greeted by asked if we had a reservation, which we did not. We were told they weren't seating anyone without a reservation!!! It was just my husband and I and a near empty restaurant before rush hour, the day before Valentine's Day. I've yet to meet a restaurant worth going back to under these circumstances. read more

Hands down one of the best steak joints in the area. We come usually here to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and work promotions but would honestly make any excuse to make the quick drive and eat here. I've ordered several different menu items but my favorite is the Tenderloin Medallion ala Oscar, which is basically a filet minion. Their appetizers and desserts are all great too. You could literally throw a dart at their menu and be happy with what chaos and randomness selects for you. The setting is great but if you end up in the patio you loose all of that ambiance. The difference in the facial expressions between those on the patio and those in the main space were night and day. It was almost like two different places. Honestly the promise is there but there is no reason ever a $50+ steak should be over cooked. This caused the entire table to wait and have the rest of the food get cold. Our waitress did her best to recover, always appreciated, but our first time did not hit the mark. This place has a lot of promise but really needs to tighten the ship and if the patio is going to be used then make sure you don't loose what's special in the main room. The imported wagu is a neat idea but I'm sure there is local beef that can rival the quality and if you can't cook the steak to order then it's ruined regardless of how nice a cut it is. A lot of the other reviews state that it's been a great experience and maybe we got an off moment, but we came away pretty disappointed. We had high hopes for this place after hearing it talked up, but the food was a huge disappointment. I love wagyu, so I ordered the "American Wagyu" sirloin. What came out was the worst steak I've ever had in my life. It had such a bizarre and off-putting flavor I felt genuinely nauseous after just two bites. I see another review here complaining about the AW sirloin, they should seriously consider removing it from the menu or finding another supplier. The rest of the meal was so heavy and overly rich we only had a few bites. We ended up throwing most of the food away, and I gave the expensive "wagyu" to the dog. What a wonderful find! Just happened upon it! Met the owner and she was a joy! We had a wonderful chat about Tennessee and life in Idaho. The food... amazing! Hope to come back and try everything! "The place with the huge caveman steak on the bone!" This iconic steak has enticed me to this restaurant for over a year. I finally took my wife to dinner here and we splurged ($95) getting the tomahawk ribeye steak dinner for two. I'll break down the whole dinner Crab chowder-5/5 you read that right, CRAB chowder. If the soup is available get it! Appetizer coconut shrimp- 4.5/5 very good but nothing above and beyond any other coconut shrimp. Au gratin potatoes- 5/5 delicious. Not much else to say. Brussel sprout petals- 3.75/5 kind of like a chewy chip? Good, not fantastic. I would have preferred a full tender Brussel sprout. The leaves lacked the flavor I love from good Brussel sprouts. TOMAHAWK STEAK- 2.5/5 No crisp sear (since I'm sure it needed to be put in an oven to cook through fully) no crazy delicious seasoning, lots of extremely tough sinew/tendon throughout. My jaw was sore from chewing through tough parts and i was worried i was going to choke on multiple pieces. Far from melt in your mouth. If you got just the right piece it was nice and tender but it was difficult to miss getting some sinew. The steak knives were like butter knives and i felt a bit embarrassed at how hard we were sawing to get a piece of steak. Horseradish and au ju complimented it nicely. Chocolate cheesecake- 5/5 phenomenal. Very rich but not too much, simply amazing. Overall the meal was ok but the star of the show, the steak, was very lack luster. I simply think the steak is just too big, it needed to be trimmed properly into smaller/thinner steaks to avoid big sections of sinew/gristle. It is an attention getter like a big judds burger and it's fun to show your friends but I've had far better steaks at Texas Roadhouse for 1/4 the price. I will be going back to try the seafood as I have heard it is great. read more

If I could give this more than 5 stars I would. If I could give it a Michelin star I would. The owners greeted us as we walked in and gave us some background on the restaurant. They were so incredibly kind and welcoming and made it such a special experience. Fast forward to the amazing food. I had the ribeye and chose the wine pairing recommended on the menu. It was unreal. Suggested by a local friend who pre-empted us that this is the place she always takes out-of-towners to impress them, it was obvious that if she was right, this place is a hidden gem. Interestingly enough, the pictures and ratings online make this place look like a steakhouse where you are required to wear a blazer to get into. And to be honest, the food is 100% that. I like steaks, but typically don't like the prices, so I opted for the prime dip sandwich (getting the bonus of French fries made from local potatoes). It was absolutely wonderful. The French roll felt a little soggy on-hand, but was absolutely not soggy at all, shich meant it was incredibly soft and fresh. The thinly sliced prime beef inside was so perfectly cooked, I ate slowly to enjoy every bite. The fries of course were incredible. People in my party got desserts and said they were just as great as the meal, and the locals in our party were already planning their next visit. Madison, our server and hostess was so on top of refills she was topping off half filled glasses. As I mentioned, the atmosphere does not really match the food. We theorized that it was due to the necessity to make the locals want to spend more time than just a meal there. There are six or seven large TVs that make the experience feel much more like a sports bar than a ritzy steakhouse, but I have a feeling it's intentional. The only odd point to make is a bonus and a bummer. They have flavors they can add to sodas! Bonus! Amazing! The cherry flavor tastes more like cough syrup than grenadine. Bummer. One other note, apparently the location in Blackfoot is not the same as this one. While they share a name, that's about all (according to the locals). Overall, I'll be delighted to return if I get the experience and I'd recommend it if you enjoy steakhouse food. read more

Denver Cut...? Never heard of it? - Absolutely a 10/10 on food quality! While eating there we were sitting looking at the menu while some man at the bar came over and told us we have to try the Denver cut, we have never heard of it but we thought why not. Comes to find out the man was the owner and this cut was one of the best flavors cuts of steak I have ever had. Forget this place. It used to be really good, but the last few times have been terrible. Last time the prime rib tasted probably came from a mule. We all ordered it medium rare and every piece was so overcooked it was absolutely inedible. Well, it had been a year, so we tried to give it another shot last week. We had reservations for five of us on Saturday at 7. We drove down from Bozeman and when we arrived, the place was empty and the doors locked. They posted a sign in the door saying they were closed. They were too lazy to call us and let us know they had decided to close despite us having reservations and our number. We traveled a long way to eat there! And they're not exactly convenient. Menan is way out in the sticks anyway. I left a voicemail with the restaurant after we showed up and they were closed, but never got a call back, so I guess they get to hear about it through Yelp. Thanks for ruining our group dinner! It's pretty much impossible to get in anywhere else after 7 on a Saturday, so you really jacked up some special plans. Go somewhere else. read more

Had dinner here for my birthday last night. My fiance and I both agreed that this was the first time we have enjoyed a meal out in so long I can't even remember. Everything we ordered was delicious and executed well from the presentation, taste, and temperatures and service. This is a much needed dining experience in Blackfoot. This restaurant is an unbelievable find. Located out of the way in Menan, Idaho, everything, and I mean everything, was as good as any European or American fine dining restaurant. At first I thought it was too expensive considering the area and where it was located. I quickly changed my opinion. It would compete anywhere for quality, service and ambiance. I had the Wagyu ribeye and it was cooked just as I wanted, the potatoes were very tasty but the biggest surprise was the Brussel sprouts that were sautéed in their special sauce. When we asked for a specific type of wine the owner, Mike, came over with his sommelier to help us choose and then recommended to me a special Scotch he had just received. We liked this place so well that we returned two nights later. We will return when next in southeast Idaho. read more
