I took my mom here on Mother's Day and we both loved it. The sports memorabilia on the walls are fun. The food is good. I've eaten here many times and haven't had a bad experience. We definitely enjoyed our visit to the Firehouse Grill! I say this in the most positive way possible- it is basically an elevated Chili's or Applebee's, or what those restaurants used to be. Easy, likable comfort food. The menu provides options for every palette- mainly American classics, with a few twists and surprises thrown in. I had the Italian nachos, which were so fun and flavorful! My husband had the platter of wings and ribs with a side of onion rings- the wings and rings were absolutely delicious, but the ribs could have been more tender. Service was friendly and efficient. I will say that firehouse grill and bar is definitely a sports bar. (Nothing wrong with that) They have a very extensive menu so you shouldn't have an issue picking something. They do have happy hour and daily specials. I went on a Tuesday night around dinner time and it wasn't super busy. We ordered all different things from different parts of the menu. Quesadilla, chicken sandwich, and a wrap. Food was average. I will say the wait time to get the food though felt like we were waiting for a luxurious meal. The waitress had checked on us a few times while we were waiting letting us know it would be a few minutes each time. (So I mean props to her for being attentive). Would I go back to firehouse grill? I've been twice, and the first time was pretty good. Party of four, lunchtime, all ordered sandwiches or salads. Decent service, above average meals (not great, though), enjoyable. The second time, I was alone, and that may (or may not) have been the difference - I had to flag down someone to even give me a menu, they didn't acknowledge me, but emphasized the larger tables. Finally got my order in, and then it was a very long time to get my meal, and it was basically just put in front of me and the server left - I didn't even have time to note that my table didn't have ketchup/mustard, etc., while other tables did. So given the time (lunchtime now basically over), I just ate the sandwich without proper condiments, fries with ketchup I grabbed from another table, and left. Not good. read more

A find it's hard to get a really good salad in Idaho Falls. But the Firehouse Grill has some very good salads. The one in the photo is The Mediterranean with black olives, parmesan cheese, roasted chicken, artichokes, and other lovely stuff. It's very good. Another salad of theirs I like is the Gryo Salad. I came here during their happy hour (Monday through Saturday 3pm-7pm; Fridays and Saturdays 9pm-close) which include $1 off big beers, 50 cents off house wines, and other discounts on drinks and bar food. They also have daily specials such as discounted big beers on Sundays, happy hour wings and beers on Wednesdays, and happy hour margaritas on Thursdays. Because it was Thursday I decided to get their house margarita ($5.85) which was good and easy to drink. I also ordered their strong island ($6) which is their version of the long island which is also on their happy hour menu and it is what its name suggests. It is strong and really good; it only has a splash of coke so you'll taste way more liquor than normal because the coke isn't there to cover it up. For food I ordered the boneless wings ($4.99) and the chili cheese fries ($5). For the wings I ordered medium which was their buffalo sauce but they were good. The fries were very cheesy which is what I love; there's a good amount of chili too but it's just smothered by all the cheese. This is your typical sports bar with tons of TVs everywhere. It's a Boston sports bar with the large Fenway sign on the wall and was a good place to watch some sports and talk to some other people at the bar. read more

We first got there we were seated the first five minutes. It took 10 minutes for the server to get to us 20 minutes to give us our drinks. The air conditioner worked on the other side, and the air conditioner broke on the on one side so it was uncomfortably hot. After that we ordered, we had a sirloin steak that tastes like mercury and looked disgusting. We got the chicken fried steak without gravy on it. Put gravy on it, scraped it off and flipped it over into the mashed potatoes. Speaking of the mashed potatoes they were instant from a box they were powder and they were disgusting. The burgers are dry and needed sauce. The fish and chips were straight out of a box. For $130 was not it. I would've had a better time going to an IHOP at 3 AM where the cook is high and drunk at the same time. The TVs did not have subtitles on them so you could not understand what was going on and there were so many of them, which isn't a problem, but if I can't understand what's going on why have them? But lucky for me there was professional kickball, and wiffleball going on at least that was entertaining. One of the only saving graces was their barbecue sauce and fries, but the one of our fires came out cold. I downloaded this app just to leave this review. They did not have a bartender. This place earned 5 stars for being able to accommodate a party of 12 on a holiday weekend with a call 5 minutes ahead. Service was pretty great - but I totally forgot to get our servers name! The menu is fairly extensive - lots of sandwich and burger options, full entrees, salads and munchies. My gyro was served nicely using a taco stand - the pita bread was beautifully soft, the meat tender and the sauce homemade with lots of veggies. I would have liked a bit more zing to the sauce, but I still enjoyed. The onion rings were cooked perfectly. They have a good number of options for the kids menu- the fries with dipping sauce was a hit. The fries are battered and nicely crisp. Other hits were the steak platter - my teenage grandson even ate the grilled veggies! - the Italian nachos with fried wontons! Lots of burgers. They split a wedge salad for us. The only person disappointed had the turkey wrap - she said there were some "weird dried tomato thing and sauce that didn't work together". Beverage options were plentiful. Not for fashion purposes, but celiac disease reasons, I am gluten free. I ordered the steak street tacos. Their menu specifically says that they are gluten free. Guess what? They are not. The fried avocado is breaded and deep fried. I had them remake it. Instead of giving me a couple nice slices of fresh avocado, they just left them off entirely. The menu is incorrect, and if I hadn't have asked, I would have spent the next two days alternating between the bed and the toilet. The server was friendly, however. We will not return. read more

Usually Firehouse is the place to be for sports and good eats. This Sunday, however, was horrible. They couldn't get the TV's rights, the manager/owner was rude, the server was confused on which remotes to use. Worst experience ever! I have gone here a few times, and i LOVE their salads- they put enough meats and other veggies so that it is more like a salad i would make for myself, and they dont just serve you a plate of mostly lettuce. My favorite salad is their mediterranean salad- highly recommend. My husband really liked their buffalo chicken salad. The service was a bit on the slow side a couple times, but they were very nice people, and if you order to go there's no issue with wait time. My husband and i loved sitting outside on their patio during the summer time, it was very nice. The inside seemed a bit crowded and small, but no issues really! So disappointing. On the positive, the beer was cold and served in a frosty mug 5 stars!!!! We ordered two different burgers, both were so D-R-Y- DRY, and the bacon jalapeno ranch burger was served with no ranch to even provide a drop of moisture on that well, well done beef puck. I'd like to say the service was good, but it wasn't. Noone even asked how our food was. Oddly there were plenty of employees with "company shirts" hanging around the bar. The last unpleasantness was the fact that they charge more than the menu states. I didn't check the burger prices, but the menu says add 3 onion rings $.99........we were charged $1.49. This place is losing its charm. Maybe still the place to go for watching the big game or a beer if your a beer drinker but the food is in serious need of a revamp. Came here for lunch yesterday and ordered a 2 cheese patty melt. It was not very good. Taste was bland and onions were raw not grilled. So many raw onions it was over powering. Fries were soggy as well. My guess is oil was not hot enough. This place seems to be continuing on a down slope when it comes to food quality. But now a days the food is mediocre, got nachos tonight and absolutely no flavor to the meat, the bartenders and wait staff along with some back of the house people seemed more interested in just chatting with each other and flirting with some of the guys at the end of the bar instead of checking on other patrons. This place was pretty solid for a place like Idaho Falls. Our sever was great and there were a lot of cool options on the menu. The ambiance was typical for this sort of place which made it feel familiar and comfortable. The only minus I'll give it is that these were not the most flavorful fajitas I have eaten but the meat was tender and the portion size was great. First time going here. The decor seemed a bit dated. We were seated, and greeted by very pleasant staff. She took our order and was very cheerful. Appetizers consisted of finger steaks, chips and salsa, and loaded potato skins. The finger steaks were OK, but served with ranch instead of the traditional cocktail sauce..making thinks very salty. The chip and salsa were OK. The salsa looked fresh, and was pretty good considering our location. The potato skins were pretty blah. Main courses were kids Parmesan pasta, boneless Buffalo wings, fajitas, and a Cuban sandwich. The Cuban sandwich was actually pretty good. The onion rings were on point. The pasta was pretty bland, the boneless wings were uninspiring, and the fajitas came sizzling, but covered in an unknown brown sauce. The chicken looked like it was all precooked and thrown on the skillet. The steak wasn't bad. Will probably not be back. The staff was great, but the food was very disappointing. read more

We come here about once a week. We can't have sugar or flour so always order sandwiches without the bun. We also substitute a small salad for the fries. We have done this for awhile and never been charged. Tonight we went there and the waitress informed us it would be $3.99 more to sub the salad for the fires. Is this a policy change or is this how it always has been and we were never charged extra? That's a little drastic especially since we are taking the fries off, maybe charge a bit for the substitution but not $4. We probably won't be back. read more

The Firehouse Grill is a great sports bar option if you are in Idaho Falls, Idaho. It's actually located in Ammon, near the corner of S. 25th Street and Derrald Ave. near the Edwards Cinema. I enjoyed my experience at the Firehouse Grill. I went there before going to s movie so I was under s minor time crunch. The service was excellent. Brice (I think that was his name) was the guy that helped me get my drinks and food. I had chicken wings, a salad and some beers. Great price, service and food.
