I have been a regular customer for many years. Once it changed ownership it has steadily gone downhill. My most recent visit was especially poor. The service was bad and my burger was overcooked and dry. you get a side but charging an additional $2 for onion rings is annoying. There were only 3 of us but they tacked on a mandatory 18 percent gratuity because our bill was over $100. I normally tip 20 percent, but as I said the service was poor and I wouldn't have tipped that much considering the place only had people at 7 tables! The Press box will no longer be my go to place. read more

This was a fantastic steak sandwich! Appetizers were spectacular and filled with flavor. Daily special, steak sandwich served here with tots. Phenomenal! We will be BACK!!!! Whenever I come to town my favorite place to get finger steaks and cottage fries is The Pressbox. Due to Covid and a decreased immune system I am unable to eat in the restaurant. It was very disheartening to call in an order only to be told "we are too busy tonight, we aren't doing that". How does a business just decide to shut down a service when they feel like it? This is a small restaurant, I find it very hard to believe that they are so busy on a Sunday night with no sporting events happening. I have never experienced this with any other restaurant in town, they really need to serve their community better. read more

My best friend and I went to this bar a few days ago and ordered some drinks. I couldn't finish mine and we didn't want it to go to waste so she was going to finish it for me. We asked the bartender if there was any pineapple in it because she is very allergic to pineapple and they said "no." Long story short we had to leave and rush to the hospital because her throat swelled up. The bartender may not have known what was in the mixers she put in my drink so I highly recommend they be better educated when it comes to things like that. As we were rushing out I paid for our drinks and the total came out to be $9. I gave her a 20 and she only gave me $6 back and we watched her put the other $5 in a cup which I'm guessing was for tips, NOT COOL!! This was our first and last time coming to this bar. Went in on a Friday night, there were only 2 or 3 open tables. We were passed by 2 servers on our way to our table, neither of which greeted us. We opted for a table in the corner in hopes we'd have a couple options for tv screens when our hockey game came on a little later. I ordered a Sprite and a water, the Sprite came out carbonated water - no syrup. The server was rude upon my asking for another with syrup. While I waited, my partner and I looked over the menu. We really wanted wings, but looking at other tables who had ordered them, we decided almost $14 for a dozen of their tiny chicken wings was too much, and looked for something else on the menu. Ultimately, we opted to go to a different restaurant. Completely unimpressed with the prices and service, and I guess I'll never know about their food. read more

About as much as you could hope for from a sports bar in Idaho. Lots of large, wide-screen TV's. Very friendly and quick service. Good burgers (even the Garden Burger). Excellent blue cheese dressing. Not too loud. No smoking. Full bar. Very reasonable prices. Only "complaint" is that the fries were shaped like chips rather than sticks. First of all, this is really the only acceptable sports bar in Pocatello. That being said, I found The Pressbox to be a big disappointment. The food is mediocre at best, the service is inattentive, and good luck getting them to show the baseball game that you want to watch. I like this place when I am in Pocatello. The parking is kind of sketchy behind the building, but, after you are inside, it is a friendly enough sports bar. They do a good job of keeping the beer cold, which, for a sports bar is the priority. I had a chicken mushroom "burger" that was good. Kind of reminded me of one that the old Buger & Brews in Boise made. The waitresses were kinda "hott" in a working their way thru college type of appearance. Service was good, seems like we were always asked if we needed another pitcher just about when there was a single glass left in the previous pitcher. The bar is nice and the food is OK. It is nice to look at all of the sports pictures on the walls. It would be nice if there were windows, it is a bit dark inside. I stopped here in Pocatello to check out Idaho State University while on my trip from Sacramento, CA to Rexburg, ID. I told the staff that I was considering ISU and they helped me find local hangout spots in case I ended up moving here. They were very helpful and did not shy away from recommending other bars, which was very nice of them. I ordered the Onion Rings because I wasn't very hungry and they came out super fast! They were delicious and came served with a yummy sauce! For a bar, however, they did have a wide variety of options on the menu, from burgers to gyros to salads to pasta! During conversation, I asked if Pocatello had any other hockey enthusiasts like me and without even being asked the bartender (Troy) surprised me and changed one of the TVs to the Ranger's game. I have traveled to Pocatello 3 times for my job, and the 1st time coming the manager at my hotel recommended the Press Box. I went and was not disappointed. My family and I have been life long customers of this place, recently we came in to enjoy a family dinner and were forced to pay a tip. We have never been one to slack on tipping the waiter, we have always tipped fairly well. But with our table being "six or more" people it was forced on us. The waitress collected close to $30 from our table. When contacting the owner to express concern we were told "its on the menu in the fine print I suggest you look for it next time" there will not be a next time my friend. I pass threw Pocatello, Idaho about every two to three months for business. I would bring my clients down to the Press Box for lunch every time I was in town, sometimes twice. The last coupe of times we have been their the quality of the food has taken a nose dive. The food continuously took longer and longer to reach the table, and on many occasions was prepared wrong and was cold, once the chicken sandwich was undercooked to the point i was scared to touch anything on the plate. To top it off during this experience a cook came out of the kitchen extremely dirty, covered in tattoo's, eating something that I assume came off one of our plates since we were one of the few people their, as the cook walked past us the smell of marijuana was so strong that I felt that I might get high myself. I am very sorry to say that I will never be back to the Press Box again I have enjoyed their food for the last few years, but I can only look over so much before it becomes intolerable for me and the people I do business with. read more
