Before picture: Copper tray with bent rim.

I have a 26" copper tray that my parents bought in Iran in the 1970s. The rim had been severely bent during a move. I don't think it had ever been polished. I took it to Colonial Brass to have the rim repaired, the tray polished, and hangers added to the back so it could be hung on a wall. It looks stunning!! My sister has another tray, and she is now eager to have hers restored and polished.

I had one brass candlestick holder (out of four) that had tarnished and wanted to get it refinished to match the others. When I took it to the shop, they recommended I refinish all four so they would all look the same. So, I decided to have all four refinished. WOW! I'm glad I did. Not only did all four refinished candlestick holders look beautiful, they all had a "mirror" finish to them, and they even added a felt bottom to all four. I highly recommend Colonial Brass!

    all metal part replaced

I recommend Colonial Bras 100%. I took my clutch that I have over 30 years. The metal parts were roasted and since it is so special I needed to take it to the best place. It took over three months to get fixed because they could not find the right parts but they never gave up. Finally, I received the call from Mark saying that it is ready for pick up. What a great job... thank you Colonial Bras it looks like new. Totally worth the wait!

My mother who is 75 years old gave me a silverware set that she inherited by her Aunt over 40 years ago. My great aunt received this silverware set as a wedding gift in the early 40's. This set was manufactured by 1847 Roger's Bros and was still housed in the original wooden box. The silverware was severely tarnished. My husband decided to surprise me with the restoration of this set. He took it to Colonial Brass who did an EXCEPTIONAL job restoring this silverware. When I saw it I was speechless with tears in my eyes. This company made each piece look brand new. There are not enough stars available for this company. Amazing job!!!!

Before Colonial Brass started working on this piece...

I got an antique cast iron fireplace surround off of Ebay, just fell in love with the piece. This was an adventure as well as I had to drive from Houston, TX to Pittsburg, PA to pick it up from seller, but it was all worth it. Next was to decide how to approach restoration, at some point I was considering DIY sort of project, but after a more detailed research and a referral I've found out this amazing local shop, Colonial Brass in Houston specializes mostly in brass and such, but when I brought in the cast iron piece and explained what I'm looking for, these guys didn't hesitate to take the project. We've discussed details, and the wait has begun for me. Knowing how busy they are, and not being in a rush myself, 2 months later I called to check on the progress. I was told they have done a couple attempts and got frustrated with the end result and didn't have a plan at this time. I gave them some more time and called back again, Edward asked me to come see what he had done so far. What I've seen was a finished small part of entire piece, and it was beautiful. At that point I could tell the guys are just perfectionists. I've assured the result looks great and Edward took another week or so to complete the entire piece. The end result was astonishing, I totally loved it and it was well worth the wait. Although these guys spent so much effort, they charged only what they have estimated originally, and it was a VERY reasonable estimation to begin with. Thank you Edward, thank you Mark, awesome job well done. They did a good job, you pay well for it, but it's worth it if you have solid brass fixtures to have them

Had an absolutely horrible experience dealing with Texas Fabricators. I dropped my boat off with…read moreAndrew Narvaez the owner to repair a small puncture in the pontoon. He had the boat for a week and then told me the repair was done and I needed to Zelle him for payment which I did. We arranged a time for me to pick up the boat, and when I arrived the gate was locked and Andrew would not answer his phone. I left and the following morning Andrew told me that his shop had been broken into, his welding equipment was stolen, he was unable to refund my money, and he could not return my boat because the police were now involved and it was part of an ongoing investigation. Then he told me the gate to his shop was damaged and he couldn't get my boat out. All of this was untrue. I waited outside of his shop all day long and not a single officer was around. Andrew refused to answer my phone calls and said that he was busy "giving a police report." I had to get law enforcement involved to get my boat back and I was told that there was no reported break-in at his shop. When I got my boat back the repair was not done. Instead, there was a large patch, much larger than needed, haphazardly applied, and not even completed. Additionally, his welding equipment was sitting right next to the boat and the gate opened right up. I had to take the boat to another welder to remove the poorly applied patch and redo the entire thing. Andrew never gave me my money back. I DO NOT recommend Texas Fabricators or Andrew Narvaez.

I contacted Texas Fabricators to perform a small, less than a minute, welding job. I was asked to…read morebe at the shop by 8. I arrived at 7:55am. I texted them at 8:15 to let them know that I was still parked outside of the gate. I received a text back, Ok - I'm late- like 10. I called, no answer. I texted back, 10 minutes or 10 o'clock? No answer. Since the shop was 40 minutes from my house, I didn't want to drive home and turn around and drive back. So I sat there till 10:10. I sent another text asking are you on your way? Text response "yes". At 10:38, I sent a text letting them know that I was done! I then got a text back that their car died and they were stranded on the side of the road. I understand unforeseen circumstances that come up, BUT what I don't understand, is the total lack of communication. It really felt like my small job, that they were going to charge $120, wasn't worth their time. I will not be contacting them if I have any future needs for welding services. We are done! I found a shop out of Conroe that performed the work for me. They charged less and the actual welding took less than a minute. They helped disconnect my four batteries and reconnected them when the job was completed. They gave me water and Gatorade while I waited. Use Big Pete's Welding instead.
