This place is incredible, a rare combination of expertise, customer service, and price. True story: late last year while traveling in Buenos Aires, my wife found a lamp she loved. Sadly, shipping proved to be a disaster, and what arrived was a box filled with broken glass and dented metal. We were initially inclined to cut our losses and throw everything out, but since my wife loved the lamp, I figured I'd at least see if it could be repaired. Lamp Repair and More worked miracles. Only if you were standing 2 inches from the lamp would you have any idea that it wasn't in flawless condition, as all but the most minor imperfections have been removed, the owner spent two months finding perfect replacement glass, and even changed the plug to American standards. What we have now is a good-as-new lamp that sits in our living room. Lamp Repair did all of this for $80, and the owner even tried (unsuccessfully) to discount the work due to the amount of time it took to find the glass. Needless to say, if I ever have a broken lamp down the road, I know where I'll be going. read more

Finally I found Marbella Chavez, the shop owner, who immediately went in back to find parts for my Deco and Lucite lamps and solved the problems. Not only were her prices fair, she was quick and efficient. I just wish she worked longer hours! Try to go around noon before she leaves or on a Saturday if you want an expert opinion. Update: Got a weird vibe last time I went here, as if they couldn't be bothered so I took my lamp home and left. I can order parts online w/out their help. I've had a nonworking fluorescent torchiere lamp sitting in the garage for over 5 years (purchased as a set). Originally I was just going to replace it but couldn't find the exact one anywhere so I took it to a high end lighting store but they wanted so much for the repair it would have made more sense to buy an entirely new set, which they tried very hard to sell me. After the last time my better half tried to sneak it out on trash day, I snuck it back in lol and looked up lamp repair. Luckily I found Marbella who tested it, found the issue, called me with an update and ordered the part. Two weeks later its now working like its brand new, she cleaned it really well and even saved the old parts to show me what had gone bad, who does that anymore!?! At least 18 months ago, I dropped off a lamp that wouldn't light, picked it up a week later and was thoroughly impressed with Mirabell's work because she made this lamp become a vital piece in illuminating my home! Mirabell's charge to produce this miracle was nominal and, the best part, I was able to actually continue using the lamp for it's intended purpose. Everyone in Houston needs a "Mirabell" in their lives! Today, I'm picking up a hanging lamp I commissioned Mirabell to create from an inexpensive but perfect lampshade which will be hung above a small table and settee cushioned armless benches in my condo kitchen I just remodeled. This last finishing touch will add light to & adorn my newly remodeled kitchen....and how lovely it is! Will post pics later tonight after get home.. . Marbella is a treasure. She went above and beyond to repair my 2 Japanese lamps. She rewired both of them to return them to the original look and function. Cleaned them; replaced the paper that lined the inside; fixed the bases; repaired the broken porcelain; make a much more functional way to replace the bulb on the inside (clips). They are in stunning shape. Just as beautiful as they were when my father got them in the 50's. She did all this for a very reasonable price. My mom and i are over-the-moon happy.
