This large antique had been handed down through the generations in my family and was a pair of paintings. The frame, which was wood and plaster, broke as did all of the intricate hand made small and tiny leaves that embellished the frame. I was heartbroken. My framer gave me the name of Jill Whitten at Whitten and Proctor. I took the frame there and they said that they could put it back together and recast all of the leaves and delicate features. I knew it would be a painstaking and costly job because of the labor and details involved, but I had to get it fixed for posterity. Jill and her expert team did a fabulous job and restored it to about 95% of what the original looked like. W&P is a fantastic place for those impossible art restoration/repair dilemmas.

I called ParkWest and they offered 1) to have me send the painting back to be reframed, or 2) take it to a local framer and they would send them a replacement liner. I opted for option #2 and took it to Bradley's, the only framer I would consider for this special work of art. Lauren inspected the defect and determined that the speck could be easily removed without having to replace it. Out came her razor as she delicately flicked at the spot and removed it without any damage to the lining. No charge. Not only does Bradley's do excellent framing work but they are very, very kind.

When I compared quotes, Impulse was the most inexpensive by SEVERAL hundreds of dollars. Impulse also quoted an extremely short turnaround time compared to others (literal days vs. weeks and months), which I frankly thought was overly ambitious and probably too good to be true. Nevertheless, I delivered my canvases to their store on Tuesday afternoon and to my absolute shock and delight, I received a call late Thursday morning informing me that my work had been completed. Reader, that was a TWO DAY TURNAROUND. And how was the work? INCREDIBLE. The service? EXPERT. The in-store selection of framing options? VAST. Will I absolutlely be doing business again with Impulse? WITHOUT A DOUBT.

Every single rug was damaged or destroyed by them. They admitted to destroying a couple of them but brought the rest of them back in shambles. Most if not all were completely faded and in considerably worse shape than when they left our home. Others had strings coming off of them and frayed endings, while others had holes in them. Another rug had dirt and grass on it somehow when it was unrolled. These were very expensive imported hand crafted rugs that they completely ruined. They are no longer usable. They are now expecting us to pay them for ruining our items and are keeping our rugs as well. Oh and they didn't even bother to show up with the curtains or other items, saying "they are running behind." What does that even mean? That our items are just sitting in a warehouse not being cleaned??? This is the absolute worst company I have ever had the displeasure of doing business with and hope that you take my warning seriously. If you don't want your items destroyed, don't want to be talked to like you're a child or a burden to them, and don't want a huge mess at the end of your already messy situation with the repair of your home, then I would steer clear of this organization. The piece was damaged And perimeter restored it to next to original condition. Given that it was clay pottery Aubry's insistence on excellence is what restore the peace to the point that if you inspect it currently you would be quite skilled if you could find where the flaws had been that he repaired. Secondly, he seems to have inside and apparently himself collects very nice pieces, and I acquired from him a Gorman, which he then matted and framed and did an incredible job, simply incredible and enhanced the visual presentation of the peace.
