She guided our family through the very difficult process of managing hospice care in a nursing home with compassion and professionalism. My mother's hospice aide, Brandie, was equally wonderful--gentle, respectful, and efficient. One of my fondest memories is how much my mother enjoyed having her hair freshly washed; just before she passed, I remember the comfort of touching and smelling her clean hair, a gift made possible by Brandie's attentive care. Chaplain Mike also went above and beyond by helping me connect with a Catholic priest who administered Last Rites for my mom, which was deeply meaningful to our family. I appreciated that whenever I called Alinea's main number, I was immediately connected to a live person. When my mother's condition suddenly declined, I was patched directly to the on-call nurse for a timely reevaluation. I cannot stress enough how much better my experience with Alinea Family Hospice Care was compared to a previous hospice provider. I wholeheartedly recommend Alinea to anyone seeking compassionate, reliable care for their loved one, and a true partner to guide them through such a difficult time. I should also mention that my Alinea Family Hospice Care team consistently spoke highly of the owner, Don Belknap. We brought her home that weekend and the loving and caring staff not only got her comfortable but more importantly, she had a series of falls the last few months before this hospital visit, so she had not walked for almost 8 months. She was started on some muscle strengthening exercises, given some tender love and care, and not only did she make it through the weekend, but she walked about a month later for the first time in a long time, and lived almost 7 months after receiving such initial devastating news. She quickly made the arrangements and kept me updated throughout the process. There was a small additional fee due to the same day request but it was minimal and I was grateful they could accom odate us with such short notice. Antonio the driver and his associate were helpful and courteous and helped my dad get in and out of the vehicle and escort him to his room. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe it's just super hot in Dallas and people just can't be bothered to work all that hard. Maybe it's because people here just earn less on average and so they don't have the financial incentive to put in as much work. Whatever the reason is, I've honestly found it quite difficult to find high-quality professionals here who take pride in their work. Todd is one of the few I've worked with in my 5+ years of living in this city who really stand out. He's just an all-around consummate professional. Todd has an incredible depth of industry knowledge and general housing experience that he draws from that he used to guide my wife and I throughout our first home purchase at the beginning of September. And in the rare instance that he didn't know something, he always took the time to research it and follow-up as soon as he could. But even more important for me was Todd's humility and integrity. While real-estate agents are often seen as simple salespeople, Todd never came a cross as salesy whatsoever. He would always try to remain impartial, objective, and honest, even if that meant compromising his own bottom line. I could see Todd's integrity a mile away, which is why I felt comfortable trusting him with a transaction of this size. While I don't know for certain, I think I'm pretty safe in guessing that Todd is quite well off. He's not desperate for business and he does a significant volume of large transactions annually. This is extremely important when considering a real estate agent because the more desperate they are, the more likely they'll do whatever it takes to close a deal, even at your expense. At the same time, you don't want to work with an agent who is too absorbed in their own success that they can't bother to spend any time with you. Todd is truly that rare mix of humility, integrity, experience, and detail orientation that makes for the perfect real estate agent. I started this homebuying process thinking real-estate agents are just people who pick up the phone, talk a bunch of nonsense, and collect a handsome check after doing effectively nothing, and left on closing day absolutely certain that I would not have been able to do this without Todd.
