I've lived in several major metropolitan areas in the U.S. throughout my life, and service in Dallas has been more hit and miss than in any other major city I've ever lived in. Why? I'm not sure. Maybe it's just super hot in Dallas and people just can't be bothered to work all that hard. Maybe it's because people here just earn less on average and so they don't have the financial incentive to put in as much work. Whatever the reason is, I've honestly found it quite difficult to find high-quality professionals here who take pride in their work. Todd is one of the few I've worked with in my 5+ years of living in this city who really stand out. He's just an all-around consummate professional. Todd has an incredible depth of industry knowledge and general housing experience that he draws from that he used to guide my wife and I throughout our first home purchase at the beginning of September. And in the rare instance that he didn't know something, he always took the time to research it and follow-up as soon as he could. But even more important for me was Todd's humility and integrity. While real-estate agents are often seen as simple salespeople, Todd never came a cross as salesy whatsoever. He would always try to remain impartial, objective, and honest, even if that meant compromising his own bottom line. I could see Todd's integrity a mile away, which is why I felt comfortable trusting him with a transaction of this size. While I don't know for certain, I think I'm pretty safe in guessing that Todd is quite well off. He's not desperate for business and he does a significant volume of large transactions annually. This is extremely important when considering a real estate agent because the more desperate they are, the more likely they'll do whatever it takes to close a deal, even at your expense. At the same time, you don't want to work with an agent who is too absorbed in their own success that they can't bother to spend any time with you. Todd is truly that rare mix of humility, integrity, experience, and detail orientation that makes for the perfect real estate agent.
