This place brand new and is really bright and beautiful, the food is way better than others. It was about the same price as others. Everyone seemed friendly and the best thing was the owners were there every day . Originally she had a really nice little one bed apartment on the AL side. But then dementia started to take hold so she was moved to the memory care. They keep more of an eye on them in memory care I slept better at night knowing she was in this place, it was really nice, extremely secure,clean and above all she was happy there. Which really made me happy because she absolutely hated the one she was in before. My mom passed away last week and I couldn't believe how many people from this place called or texted me to give condolences. They really care. i thank them all for taking care of my mom

They'll tell you that they have quick response times for their caretakers to respond to a page but 30+ minutes is not quick at all! There was even a time where the night caretakers turned off the phone that alerted them to resident's pages. There were several instances where they messed up my mother's medication and for someone with her medical history, missing these medications could've caused some major medical emergencies. My mother was constantly cleaned incorrectly. NO ONE should be cleaned so horribly wrong that feces is dried and caked up on their pubic hair. This was an ongoing issue not something that happened one time. Unfortunately my father had to go to the ER several times. I would always call the front desk and inform them what the issue was with my father and ask them to call an ambulance. One time I called back 20 minutes later to make sure my dad was headed to the hospital.... Guess what, they never called an ambulance! Thank goodness my dad wasn't having a heartache!The management there is incompetent of giving you answers to questions and problems that are going on in the facility they run! No one takes responsibility for their or their staffs screw ups! They charge an arm and a leg for care that is horrible. I don't know how anyone can be ok with treating elderly people like this! All this happened with the entire facility knowing that we were a very hands on and involved family. I can only imagine how the elderly residents, that do not have someone advocating for them, are treated. Stay far away from this place. You do not want your loved staying here!

I wish we had…read moreknown about them earlier, as it was so much better for her than Memory Care or Skilled Nursing Care. The staff ratio was better also and she was well cared for. They have beautiful grounds and she was able to go outside which she loved. The staff were kind and caring. She was able to rest in a recliner chair as opposed to wheelchair. OPC was a dream come true. This is a small, family owned care facility. This place reminds you of home. The workers are caring and always knowledgeable about what's happening with every resident. Don't be surprised if you see the owners spending the day with patients. Everyone that works here cares for the residents. Loved ones are free to come and visit anytime. My aunt lived there for eight years and I was never disappointed. Even though my aunt is no longer living, she was always happy and I'd recommend Optimum Personal Care to anyone looking for a facility to care for your loved ones when you can longer do it alone.

I visited this hospital twice while my friend was recovering from surgery. It happened to be during…read morethe World Cup, so there were some fun football-themed decorations throughout the facility. The check in process was straightforward. Visitors sign in at the front desk, receive a visitor sticker, and then take the elevator to the appropriate floor. The facility appeared clean and well maintained. Like most hospitals, there was a constant beeping of medical equipment, which is to be expected. My friend's room was comfortable, with a private bathroom, and her assigned nurse checked on her regularly. I also appreciated the whiteboard in the room listing the nurse, doctor, and other important information. One thing I wish they had was a water fountain or water bottle filling station on each floor for visitors. It would also be helpful if patient rooms had a small refrigerator for storing leftovers or cold drinks. The biggest disappointment was how my friend's food allergy was handled. She has a documented allergy to green beans, and it was clearly noted in her medical chart and communicated to the nursing staff. Despite this, the kitchen repeatedly served her green beans during her week-long stay. That was both concerning and frustrating. Since she was recovering from surgery and had limited mobility, I had to notify the nurse each time so the meal could be replaced. While the staff corrected the mistake, it should not have happened repeatedly. Food allergies should be taken seriously in a hospital setting, and I hope they improve communication between the kitchen and the medical staff to prevent this from happening to future patients. Overall, the facility and staff were good, but better attention to dietary restrictions would make a significant difference.

We are so lucky to have found The Abbey at Westminster Place. While some may say it is too pricy or only consider price when looking that the care is all the same. So far, I visit my father with a smile each day rather than worrying what "problem" or lack of care I would discover. Rukayat (AL Director) is truly compassionate and is so kind during her assessment of your loved one. While she needs to do an assessment to recommend the best fit for your loved one, she does NOT demoralize your loved one! Jill and Norma (Activities Directors) put together a wonderful calendar of events that my father truly enjoys! Raquel (Move In Coordinator) assisted me throughout the move in process and followed through after to make sure everything needed was completed. Ashley (front desk receptionist) allows greets me with a smile and ready to answer my questions and get me answers as I learn the ropes. No place is perfect but The Abbey checks so many boxes which were not provided at our previous location. Most of all, both my father and I enjoy just being part of this community! The level of activities and healthy yummy food here at The Abbey is amazing!!! Each activity I have been to, I see the staff engaging with the residents and the staff leading the activity excited to be there and offer this for the residents! My dad's bubbly spirit has returned after moving to The Abbey! The care staff whom I have seen are ready to help you and point you in the right direction if they cannot. They truly enjoy their job and helping their residents! The administration attend many events and know the residents. The are professional and polite. Sadly many assisted living and memory care facilities take advantage of the elderly who are the most vulnerable and silence their voice or twist events and then blame on the residents lack of memory! Remember most of all, no location is perfect but what I have seen in these past weeks, The Abbey at Westminster Place is BY FAR superior and I look forward to attending the activities which truly occur when they are stated and well attended. Selecting The Abbey at Westminster in Houston was a wonderful choice for me. Although you may not be in this area, look at the description of this place for comparison wherever u are. There are several layouts here. I chose one bedroom with 1 & 1/2 baths. Closet is huge. Living area while not what I used to have is lovely and ample. Food that is always an issue is wonderful. There are choices for all meals, substitutions are available, special dietary needs are accommodated and Chef will work with anyone. T he only drawback is that you are likely to gain a bit of weight mostly because the desserts are fantastic. One of the things that mattered to me was how to maintain my physical shape at my age. The exercise choices are unbelievable and will suit whatever you need. There is also Hydrotherapy included in the monthly rent. It's rare to have it and helps me so much. You will have to look up what it is. The moving in process has been as good as it can be. Staff have been so accommodating in this very difficult process. Also, must mention that the other residents here have been kind and welcoming. They all seem to relate to how hard it is to make such an enormous change in these later years. My Mom's neighbor is currently a resident here and I've been stopping in to visit. He says they are providing excellent care and have an individualized care plan that is helping him become stronger every day. He's very happy with his care and the facility. A Nurse Practitioner is on-site and makes daily rounds. Chelsea Gardens offers Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy all under one roof. The exercise area is quite large and extremely nice. All the staff I've interacted with have been friendly and caring. The security is excellent here with only one entrance/exit with a keypad code required to enter or exit. If you push the door bar an incredibly loud alarm is sounded. Perfect for Alzheimer's patients or those with a tendancy to wander. All 60 beds are private rooms with private restrooms, televisions and individual phone lines. His room is very nice and looks out onto the well manicured grounds. When he's not participating in rehab their are daily activities planned for the residents. They also offer free WiFi for residents and guests. I hope he's strong enough to return home soon and he feels with the care he's receiving that should be soon.
